Messed this up last night. Still not my best but better
The lyrics says I'm wasted and I can't find my way homeNot quite wasted but getting there
Life ain't perfect. neither is this version of st. James Infirmary but since it's free you can't ask for a refund
A hot rum toddy at 1:30 in the morning, this is what you get
I've been messing around with this song lately and this is my current version
This was the title track of a CD I had out about 10 years ago. I had 100 copies, still have 5 or 10 around.
The words of the song speak for themselves. The title says it all
I talk (ramble) for a while about what it's like to be an older musician.also some corrections: I think I might have said Robert Daltrey instead of Roger Daltrey, or at least it sounds that way. Also Loyd Love and Cody never lived in the house I mentioned but they were in my band at various times and that's what I was referring to with them.I also forgot to mention another housemate, my friend Eric Electric from the band Krackpot who also sat in with my band at various times. We also had some people from the band Wee Doggies. I lived in the house mentioned from 1985 to 1990. It was in San Francisco near Alamo Square, an area thoroughly gentrified by now, but at that time far from gentrified, a place where a bunch of musicians could put as many people as possible under one roof to get the rent as low as possible. I could tell many many stories about this house but will not today.
one of my own favorite poems. Written while living at Harbin Hot Springs in the 90s.Thanks to Bruce and Eric for supporting my art. May you live long and prosper.
Written in the youth hostel in Santa Fe New Mexico in late 2010
Played slower than I usually play it but it's late at night and I'm tired
How I learned a very important lesson
Another excuse to play some leads. Lots of mistakes and sloppy playing, I just plugged in without warming up. Sooner or later this will get deleted too, but at least you get to hear me some play some more lead.
I plugged in my Looper, recorded a couple of chords, played lead over them for a while. If I was actually recording this for an album I probably would have deleted the track, but it gives you a little idea. Listen to it now because there's a good chance I will delete it sooner or later and replace it with something else.
A lot of people think I'm just an acoustic guitarist but the truth is I'm mostly a rock guitarist but when you're playing solo it's just easier to play acoustic. This is an original song. I've kept it very simple without a lot of leads even though I am very much a lead guitarist. You have to use your imagination to hear the band and a bunch of the leads but I know you can do that.
This is a song about drifting around and being a Wandering Minstrel
An original song played on my Alvarez 12 string
This is a short poem which is one of my favorites
Fragment in open C on Guild D40
This is a poem I wrote many years ago but has been on my mind lately
