On Season 3 Episode 2 of Tiger Talk, 4th and 5th grade EAST students at John Tyson Elementary School in Springdale, Arkansas, introduce you to their new friends from EAST at Springdale High School. The hosts of Tiger Talk realize that they have many Spanish speakers in their audience, and they want to communicate effectively with their listeners. The two groups of students will collaborate to produce this year's episodes of Tiger Talk.  Carolyn, Miller, and Sophia will produce Tiger Talk in English and Angel, Miriam, Guadalupe, and Rigo will record the episode in Spanish.

This episode of Tiger Talk features an interview with Mrs. Harp and Mrs. Brittenum, two of the JTE teachers who are retiring this year.  Jevin, Carolyn, and Miller help parents and students CONNECT with JTE as they talk with these teachers about their careers and what makes John Tyson Elementary School a special place.  Our hosts also interview retiring host, Jevin, about his experiences as a student at JTE. 

This episode of Tiger Talk features an interview with Mrs. Dudley, JTE Counselor.  Jevin, Carolyn, and Miller help parents and students CONNECT with JTE as they talk with Mrs. Dudley about things parents can do and say to encourage their Tigers to do their best on the upcoming state assessments. The hosts also share Tiger Tales. 

The TENTH episode of Tiger Talk features an interview with Mr. Matt Dozier, President and CEO of EAST Initiative.  Jevin, Carolyn, and Miller help parents and students CONNECT with JTE as they talk with Mr. Dozier about EAST, a new service and technology experience that our school implemented last year.  They also give a BIG shoutout to the JTE EAST #sprEAdpoSiTivity team who has been selected as a 2021 EAST Project Competition finalist for their work in spreading positivity at JTE (and in our community). 

This episode of Tiger Talk features an interview with Mrs. Harp, the Library Media Specialist at John Tyson Elementary School.  Jevin, Carolyn, and Miller help parents and students CONNECT with JTE as they talk with Mrs. Harp about celebrating Read Across America Week and ways that she is working to keep students safe in the JTE library.  Haley shares a "Tiger Tale" about being an expert baker. 

This episode of Tiger Talk features an interview with Officer Aini, the School Resource Officer at John Tyson Elementary School.  Jevin, Carolyn, and Miller help parents and students CONNECT with JTE as they talk with Officer Aini about keeping students safe at JTE.  Raeleigh shares a "Tiger Tale" about her encounter with a white wolf. 

This episode of Tiger Talk features an interview with Mrs. Kirby, Assistant Principal of John Tyson Elementary School.  Jevin, Carolyn, and Miller help parents and students CONNECT with JTE as they talk with Mrs. Kirby about upcoming summative assessments (MAP, ELPA 21, and ACT Aspire).  Mrs. Kirby provides helpful tips about how students can prepare to do their best on the tests.  Felix shares a "Tiger Tale" about his song "I Care."  He composed "I Care" and submitted his piece in the 2021 PTA Reflections Contest. The theme of this year's contest is I Matter Because...  Felix was inspired by this theme and believes that he matters because he cares.

On this episode of Tiger Talk, Jevin, Carolyn, and Miller interview Mrs. Dudley, the counselor at JTE. They introduce their new segment "Tiger Tales," and Ella shares her tale. The hosts help parents and students CONNECT with John Tyson Elementary School.
