Edward Yardeni joins Soar Financially to recap his major market calls and lay out his outlook for 2026. We discuss market “fatigue” versus fear, the potential rotation away from Big Tech, excessive fiscal and monetary stimulus, and why Yardeni believes the U.S. economy remains resilient. He also explains why gold is a geopolitical hedge, not an inflation hedge, and why he sees a path toward $10,000 gold and a 10,000 S&P 500 by the end of the decade.#gold #2026outlook #tech ----------Thank you to our #sponsor MONEY METALS. Every December in Olympia, Washington, the sound of Christmas isn't just bells ringing—it's engines revving. For one incredible day, thousands of bikers fill the streets, each with toys strapped to their motorcycles—dolls, skateboards, games, stuffed animals—all destined for children who might otherwise go without. It's the annual Olympia Toy Run, and for 48 years, this event has brought together riders from all over the region for one shared purpose: bringing joy to kids at Christmas. Those toys, thousands of them, end up at The Salvation Army, where they become part of the Toy and Joy program—helping families across Thurston County celebrate Christmas with dignity and love. Today, we'll talk with Captain Amelia Mott from The Salvation Army in Olympia about how the Toy Run helps meet real needs in the community—and later, we'll catch up with Santa Joe, the biker who started and has led this joyful ride year after year. Because generosity doesn't always come wrapped with ribbons and bows. Sometimes, it comes roaring down the street on two wheels. EPISODE SHOWNOTES: Read more. BE AFFIRMED. Ever wondered what history smells like? Or ponder the odor of love, or the stench of medieval Paris, or the sacred fragrance of religion? A new exhibition in Germany allows visitors to discover unknown worlds of smells by sniffing their way through 81 different fragrances across 37 different galleries. The show "The Secret Power of Scents," which opened to the public in October at the Kunstpalast museum in the western city of Düsseldorf, combines fragrances with art, taking visitors on a journey of more than 1,000 years of cultural history. "This exhibition is an experiment—and an invitation for our audience to discover the history of scents with their noses," said Felix Krämer, the museum's director general. The exhibition follows a chronological order, from religious artifacts of the Middle Ages through to contemporary art of the 21st century. The various galleries are equipped with scent steles, atomizers, and diffusers to create a connection between the art and the smell of a specific time period or cultural context. "It's the first exhibition worldwide to bring scents into a museum in this form, format, and scale," said Robert Müller-Grünow, the show's curator and a leading expert in the field of scent and scent technology. Certain smells connect to different eras of history. In a gallery dedicated to the Roaring 20s, the room is filled with the uplifting scent of tobacco, vanilla, and leather—a mixture that's a nod to famous early fragrances such as the historic Tabac Blond, which was launched by the fragrance house Caron in 1919. Moving on to modern art, the museum presents more contemporary smells between works of Andy Warhol, Yves Klein, or Günther Uecker that remind visitors of world-famous brands such as Coca-Cola or German airline carrier Eurowings, which diffuses a pleasant and relaxing scent on the plane when passengers board. For visitors strolling and sniffing their way through the show, the 81 different scents opened up a whole new world, visitor Kirsten Gnoth said. “I've been to the collection here before, but now it's completely new with scents that match the pictures and eras,” she said. J.P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, and Charles E. Mitchell are names that come to mind when thinking of the most prominent icons of wealth and influence during the Roaring Twenties. Yet the one figure who has escaped notice is an enigmatic banker by the name of Clarence Dillon. In the 1920s, as he rose in wealth and influence, Dillon became one of the original behind-the-scenes players in Hollywood, and his contact list included everyone from Thomas Edison to Charlie Chaplin and Joseph P. Kennedy to FDR. A revolutionary in finance, Clarence Dillon single-handedly created modern bankruptcy law, pioneered leveraged buyouts, invented junk bonds, and engineered some of the biggest mergers and acquisitions ever seen. His firm engineered the 1925 buyout of Dodge Brothers Company for $146 million in cash, then the largest such industrial transaction in history, which resulted in the company's merger with Chrysler Corporation in 1927 Today’s guest is William Loomis, author of “The Baron of Wall Street.” We look at Dillon and his life, which fills a void in how we view the wild excesses of the Roaring Twenties, and how we understand the increasingly complex nexus between Wall Street and political power in our own time.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Years ago, Woody Guthrie wrote “Mean Talking Blues,” a stinging satire of malicious right-wing officials who take perverse pleasure in demonizing, holding down, and punishing poor people:“I'm a big disasterJust goin' some place to happenI'm an organized famineStudying how I can be a little bit meanerI laugh my loudestWhen other people cryI hate everybody don't think like meI'm just mean.”What a perfect theme song for Trump's “Project 2025” – a MAGA crusade to stomp on millions of America's poorest families, trying to deny them access to the most basic human needs.Needs like… food. Brooke Rollins, Trump's multi-millionaire agriculture secretary, made crude political jokes about poor people during the GOP's government shutdown, laughing as she schemed to cut off their food stamps. She was an “organized famine,” illegally maneuvering to deny food for 42 million hard-hit American citizens. In addition, Project 2025 operatives want to yank health coverage from the poor – and just for meanness – they propose killing the modest program that helps impoverished families afford to have heat in their homes.Meanwhile, Trump poses as The Great Gatsby, living in tacky opulence, while ignoring the economic mess and rank inequality created by his Roaring 20s plutocratic presidency. Indeed, the inequality is widening as he doles out hundreds of billions of our tax dollars in new giveaways to billionaires (including to his own sons).Far from “Making America Great Again,” Trump's most tangible achievement is to have had the White House's Lincoln bathroom remodeled. And, in a royal touch, Trump even had a chandelier installed above the toilet. Imagine how proud Honest Abe would be.Jim Hightower's Lowdown is a reader-supported publication. Support us on Patreon---From 1880 to 1930, life on Earth was reshaped in ways previously inconceivable. Nowhere was this transformation more total than in Florida. In a single generation, a peninsula hardly charted since the days of Ponce de Leon was molded into a testing ground for new modes of living and capital accumulation. This episode of Gladio Free Europe drains the marshy mysteries of time to understand how Florida, once the most foreign of all the contiguous territories, became perhaps the most fundamentally American state of all.Jackson (@GraceCathedralPark) returns to the show for a deep exploration of modern Florida history, running from the noble failures of Reconstruction up through the reassertion of Confederate control and the establishment of a new society, a unique and twisted marriage of northern venality with southern barbarity. Gilded Age robber-barons like Henry Flagler took to the waters for pleasure and for profit, turning the remote Sunshine State into a secret garden for the idle rich. Railroads soon connected Florida to the American mainland north and south, bringing both well-heeled investors and threadbare farmers down the peninsula. Poor whites in particular saw Florida as a beacon of the New South, where a man could make his fortune in land sales or the orange boom. But these newcomers had little interest in sharing their wealth with the African American residents of Florida, some of whose ancestors had been working the swampy soil since the Spanish era.Florida after Reconstruction experienced some of the worst racial terror anywhere in the United States, with an exceptionally high rate of lynchings and episodes of mass violence at Ocoee and Rosewood, where white mobs ransacked black neighborhoods and murdered dozens upon dozens. Then the swamps, once a refuge for escaped slaves and Seminole Indians, were drained out to the sea, paved over to make room for America's newest feat of social engineering: the suburb.By the Roaring '20s, Florida's economy primarily revolved around real estate and tourism. Middle-class Americans flocked to the new neighborhoods that sprawled across the ruined wetlands, many of which were designed for cars rather than people, and most of which were racially segregated. Meanwhile significant numbers of Cuban immigarnts migrated to the Gulf port of Tampa, turning a small fishing town into a cigar city that rivaled Havana.Transformations along these lines happened across the United States, particularly in other Sun Belt regions such as Arizona and Southern California. But nowhere else were these changes so extreme, so rapid, and so destructive... not only to the natural landscape upon which these plains were laid, but on the residents pushed aside to built this petty-bourgeois fantasy. The state has been a theme park since decades before the Mouse spread his ears. In many ways, Florida is its own kind of twisted intentional community, and perhaps America's most successful utopian experiment.

Send us a textWelcome back to DMR!Jurassic World: Rebirth is a visually impressive but narratively uneven return to the dinosaur blockbuster formula. Critics praise its thrilling set pieces, polished effects, and renewed focus on the prehistoric stars that made the franchise iconic. It's a big, loud, entertaining ride that captures some of the old magic, and for audiences simply craving dino mayhem, it largely delivers. The cast is solid, the action sequences are well-executed, and it feels more respectful of the original Jurassic Park tone than some recent installments. But the story itself doesn't quite evolve — it's weighed down by thin characters, predictable plotting, and a few unnecessary subplots. Many reviewers describe it as fun but forgettable, a movie that entertains in the moment yet doesn't leave a lasting impact. That's why it sits at around 50% on Rotten Tomatoes: half the critics enjoyed the spectacle, while the other half felt the franchise is stuck in the past. In short, Rebirth roars but doesn't soar!Remember to grab your 30 day free Audible trial, link is in the show, you will also support DMR!Support the showThe audio clips used in this podcast, including excerpts from movie/series/documentary trailers, are used under the principles of fair use and fair dealing for the purpose of criticism, commentary, and review. "In 1929, one of its largest holdings was the Shenandoah Corporation. Another closed-end fund, organized by Goldman Sachs... that became a large investor in its stock. All these funds traded at Premia. At the top of the pyramid, the Goldman Sachs Trading Corporation traded at a premium to a premium to a premium to net asset value." In the Roaring Twenties, Goldman Sachs built a pyramid of trusts on top of trusts—trading at “a premium to a premium to a premium.” Today, we see Bitcoin treasuries and corporate leverage playing the same game on a harder monetary base. The question isn't whether it will collapse—it's whether Bitcoin changes the rules before history repeats. Check out the original article Bitcoin TreasuryCos & The Roaring 20s: Speculative Attack! Roaring 20s novelist, F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote: “Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me.”Well, yes… they're rich! But maybe you're doing pretty well these days, counting yourself among the rich. That's charming, but let's check the latest wealth indicator: Do you have a “private concierge?” You might live in a megahouse, have a maid and a nanny, travel First Class – but having a private concierge is what separates you commonplace millionaires from the filthy rich. What do these personal servants actually do? “We fix problems,” says one owner of a boutique firm that offers “hyper-personalization” services to select clients worldwide. Want to get a table tonight at a fully-booked restaurant in Paris? Don't call the restaurant – call your fixer, gets it done. If you're going to a formal ceremony in Hong Kong but – OMG you left your tuxedo back home in Oshkosh. Your concierge will find a courier to deliver it on time.In addition to dealing with such upper-class urgencies, these “lifestyle managers” also relieve the überrich of having to cope with everyday details of real life. No need to call a plumber, plan a birthday party, shop for basics, and such – that's why you pay about $75,000 a year to have your own handler. They've become such a must-have emblem of luxury that even Chase Bank and American Express now offer concierges to their high-end clients. What's at work here is a decadent ethic of royal entitlement. It's a grandiose (and socially-destructive) assumption of superiority by the filthy rich – who misinterpret their wealth as worthiness. Oh, and we common taxpayers get to subsidize these personal concierges.Jim Hightower's Lowdown is a reader-supported publication. A Keefer Madness that's a roaring good time

A sonic thrill ride for fans of guitar music, guitar hero/composer LYLE WORKMAN's new album — called Rhythm and Leads Guitar — is a captivating instrumental odyssey no guitarist should miss. Step into Lyle's studio with me, and we'll plug in some guitars with him and dive deep into his new record and much more — including his blazing solos with Bourgeois Tagg back in the '80s; his new, custom Stan Cotey-modded EVH head; and even some cool pedalboards. And yes: Lyle is a highly accomplished film composer, so if you want to immerse yourself in that realm (including learning how he created soundtracks to hit movies such as “SuperBad” and “The 40-Year-Old Virgin”), be sure to go back and listen to Lyle's FIRST appearance on this show, which was on Ep. 110 of No Guitar Is Safe (back in 2020). This episode is presented by GUITAR PLAYER and GutiarPlayer.com. Thank you, Guitar Player! And thank YOU for listening. Please share! —JUDE GOLD, host and creator, No Guitar Is Safe podcast
As I get older, my memory gets a little foggier. That being said, I believe it was at lunch at a restaurant near our office on Friday, March 6th, 2009, when I and the then three other members of the Market Insights Team, Andy, Marlene and Jerry, made a bet. That day, although we didn't know it at the time, the stock market hit its financial crisis low and the bet concerned how long it would take for the market to recover its losses.
How do we respond when threats against our faith become so public and antagonizing, and when rhetoric in the media is so divisive and hate-filled? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the Church in the United States and the need for courage and repentance. We watched a bold move from Satan when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, leaving many of us anxious and confused. Pastor Allen reminds us that we don't need to be afraid—God has equipped us to resist evil. He shares stories from the life of leaders like David and Peter, who overcame threats and persecution through the power of the Holy Spirit. Now more than ever before, it's time for us to be courageous for the Lord.
Edward Yardeni, president and chief investment strategist at Yardeni Research, says "there's a lot of funky stuff going on in the labor market," and that reduced interest rates may not change conditions but could instead impact the market and contribute to a melt-up that helps the bull market roll on. While melt-ups do tend to be followed by a regression, Yardeni does not see the market reversing too sharply; he's not currently worried about a recession and instead says the current decade is a new Roaring '20s, though he notes that this go-round is unlikely to end in another Great Depression, and instead thinks that current conditions can also turn the next decade into the "Rolling '30s." Jason Brown of The Brown Report — the host of the "Five-Year Millionaire"podcast — says that the technicals are giving him "a lot of reasons to be bullish" without "much to slow it down" on the horizon. That should have investors digging deep on A.I. stocks, especially on any pullbacks or declines, where he says the long-term potential of the new technologies will reward investors who are able to remain patient through volatility. Axel Merk, the head of Merk Investments and the Merk Funds, but also chief investment officer of the ASA Gold and Precious Metals Fund, says there is no real end in sight for the current gold rally, due to the start of rate cuts, a weakening dollar and persistent geopolitical risks, including tariffs. ASA Gold, which invests largely in junior mining companies, is up more than 100 percent year-to-date — compared to roughly 40 percent gains for physical gold ETFs — but still carries a double-digit discount; Merk explains in "The NAVigator" why that unusual situation is logical given current market conditions.
