Today's episode of the podcast is a special episode. This is the audio from the NerdMelt Farewell interviews I filmed last month. I had so many incredible people join me for this. On this episode you will hear: Matt Mira, Sarah Silverman, April Richardson, Kyle Clark, Hannah Kyle Crichton, Beowulf Jones, Zac Mckeever, Danielle Kramer, Aaron Baker, Nolan Fabricius, Julia Prescott, Samee Junio, Caitlin Durante, Matt Burnside, Jenny Chalikian, Ed Salazar, Aristotle Acevedo, Katie Levine, and Dave Kloc. The Nerdist Showroom at Meltdown Comics was a place comics across Los Angeles called home. Fans came in from around the country to see shows at NerdMelt and shop at Meltdown Comics. On March 30th, 2018, the place we called home came to a close. So many incredible people had a part in making this place magical since it first opened as NerdMelt on April 2, 2011. We found out 9 days before closing that we were in our last week of shows. I spent 5 of those days reaching out to everybody I possibly could to sit down and share their memories with me for this video. I was amazed at how eager everybody was to be a part of this. A huge thanks to every comedian and member of the NerdMelt family that took the time to rush over to NerdMelt in the final days to film this with me. You can watch the fill video on the website www.onthemicpodcast.com or on YouTube. We miss you NerdMelt and Meltdown Comics. Thanks for the memories. Enjoy the episode.

You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you? This week Kyle, Matthew and Natalie celebrate Varch/Garch/Smarch by welcoming back Aldrin Cornejo ("Aldrintendo Power" podcast) and talking about the long-running Legend of Zelda series. (They first discussed the series 3 years ago in a soon-to-be-released lost episode but had to shelve it for various reasons.) They discuss the brilliance of the N64 controller, the drawbacks to the Wiimote and Skyward Sword and debate backwards compatibility. They also talk about their first Zelda gaming experiences, why Zelda II: Adventure of Link might not be terrible, and unpack the awesomeness of Breath of the Wild and how it breaks from Zelda tradition. At one point, they have a fight over stylus storage, in which Nat and Laura think putting it back in the DS is optional, while Kyle and Matthew think they are monsters (Moblins, Tektites, Bokoblins... you choose). So sit back and enjoy the episode, but first, remember to go into the cave and grab your sword. After all, it's dangerous to go alone! This episode is sponsored by Mack Weldon. So long and thanks for all the facts. That’s right, friends and Internet strangers, this is the final episode of Today We Learned. For three years, we have had the time of our lives sitting down with amazing people like Henry Rollins, Jamie Lee, Paul Scheer, Yvette Nicole Brown, Wil Wheaton, and countless others about weird factoids, odd bits of trivia, eyebrow-raising histories, and so much more. We laughed, we gave Jai Courtney a hard time, and we learned a thing or two. We’ll miss appearing in your RSS feed every Monday morning, and we appreciate every single one of you who took the time to listen. Without you, there wouldn’t have been a show. We’d also like to thank our indefatigable producer Aristotle Acevedo for having our backs and making us sound good every step of the way. Special thanks to Christopher Fealy for greenlighting the show way back when and to Katie Levine and Perry Michael Simon for all their support in bringing this podcast to a far larger audience than we ever dreamed possible. We’re very proud of what we’ve done: 157 episodes over 3 years. That’s enough free content to last a lifetime. Assuming, of course, that you only live for roughly 157 hours. However long you live, if you’ve listened to us, we were honored to be a part of your life. Thanks again and we’ll see you soon.

Podcast producer at Nerdist, Aristotle Acevedo, chats with Gil about how he started producing podcasts, working at Meltdown and their favorite movies of last year!
Aristotle Acevedo was born and bred in Alhambra, California and is the producer of THIS PODCAST. He and Dave talk about all kinds of fear and self-loathing, from not having friends to feeling like you have no friends to feeling like you can't do anything right to suicide. Dave thinks Aristotle is great, and spends a certain amount of time berating him about how he should never commit suicide. They somehow managed to not talk about pop punk that much.
