The Lads sat down this week to discuss football, stealing, Taco Bell, and, of course, Majora's Mask. Though this was recorded prior to the long awaited announcement of Breath of the Wild's follow-up, Tears of the Kingdom, we also talk about the development of Majora's Mask as a sequel to Ocarina of Time, making this conversation more relevant than ever. Buckle up because this is a long one and we seemed to have ended the season with more than a few spicy takes... Looking for more Lads content? On this weeks show Moses shows no reservation when praising his ranked game this week, and Paul dives deep with his own selection. Moses also has a few tunes to share again as he brings back the classic mash-up album Ocarina of Rhyme. You'll never open a chest the same way again! Unless you are an adult and it's just a little one and you gently kick it open, because nothing beats that. Things then take a culinary turn as Paul asks Moses for his top gamer grub, and Moses asks Paul to regale him with tales of PVP past. Got a nice little Blaseball Update, and a nicer, littler Make My Game to wrap things up!

Let's be honest: Nintendo 64 isn't chock-full of excellent, must-play games. But it certainly had its reserve of classics, and 1998's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time -- the fifth core Zelda game -- is certainly one of them. In fact, for a not-so-small subsection of gamers, Ocarina of Time is considered one of the greatest (if not the best, outright) games of all-time. So, fresh off of recent playthroughs, we're excited to talk about it. From the jump to 3D to its amazing soundtrack, from its revolutionary Z-targeting gameplay to its rosters of memorable characters, items, weapons, and dungeons, Ocarina of Time was a masterpiece then, and it still is today. It's a reminder of Nintendo's true potential as the greatest innovator our industry has ever seen, and since it's one of the most-copied titles ever released, you also get to experience its lineage in most of what you play today. So let's get caught-up in the music, quite literally, and ping-pong between a seven-year period where things go off the rails, except for the heroics of one boy. Learn more about your ad choices. Blake King, power markets engineer at Galaxy, formerly of Oak Ridge national lab and ERCOT, joins us to talk about how changing grids are accommodating an influx of load from Bitcoin miners. In this episode:  Why the grid is undergoing a radical transformation today Blake's background in electrical engineering, power system modeling, and renewable development The origin of Blake's papers on bitcoin mining and the grid Bitcoiner misconceptions about mining? Why Bitcoin is not a battery Why you can't just arbitrarily add load to the grid Why Bitcoin mining does not generally increase energy prices during scarcity or peak load Why rational actors curtail or sell power during scarcity events Are grid planning models correctly estimating the risk of furloughing thermal generation? Is it possible to make the green energy transition as currently envisioned? Why renewable generation requires more transmission How renewable generation costs are increasingly upfront as compared to thermal generation Are bitcoiners overrating the importance of controllable load? Why Bitcoin miners may be over ambitious in terms of modeling ancillary service payments Are ancillary markets going to increase in size with more renewable generation? Economic demand response versus formal ancillary services Different types of ancillary services products Why load resources are able to bid out thermal generation in ancillary services markets How exactly Bitcoin miners get signals to curtail their load during scarcity events Does being a load resource imply ‘voluntary' curtailment? Why miners owe it to the grid operator to be transparent in their breakeven price and operating plans How weather in Texas could affect block arrival times in Bitcoin Why the commodification of ASICs would increase the integration of the renewable energy sector and bitcoin mining Why ERCOT hit the pause button on the addition of new mining loads ERCOTs level of sophistication around Bitcoin mining Will miners toggle between Bitcoin, green hydrogen, and other location-agnostic uses of power? Do the economics of green hydrogen make sense relative to BTC mining? To everyone that's been following the Zelda Dungeon podcast for the last four an a half years, we've got some news for you: the podcast will be undergoing a name change! Four and a half years ago when I decided I wanted to revive the Zelda Informer Podcast (that's going waaay back!), the hip and happening thing in the Zelda world was The Champions' Ballad, the last piece of downloadable content for Breath of the Wild. Wanting to play on that name, The Champions' Cast was born! For over four years, we've podcasted weekly about all things Zelda, from Breath of the Wild to Ocarina of Time to Wand of Gamelon to Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland to literally anything even kind of associated with The Legend of Zelda. With that in mind, we thought it was fitting that with the upcoming Breath of the Wild 2 around the corner, we establish a name that better represents what our show is all about: The Zelda Cast! So what does this mean for longtime listeners of the show? Are there any earth shattering changes you should expect? In a word: nope! All that will change is the name and the logo of the show (which I have to admit, I've wanted to do for a while. I love me some blue, but when I think Zelda, I think the color green. Is that just me?). You'll still get weekly episodes, you'll still hear Al and I on our grind every week, you'll still have episodes download automatically if you're subscribed. There's no change! One new thing is that the podcast is now on Twitter! We plan on having lots of show clips and other discussion points, so make sure to give us a follow: @TheZeldaCast. We're also planning on live streaming EVERY SHOW on Twitch going forward, @TheZeldaCast, so make sure you're following to check out the podcast in real time! Furthermore, new merch will be available soon! Check out all of our existing social media and podcast channels and make sure you're following and subscribing (you can even advertise on the show!). Thank you for all the support and we can't wait to keep bringing you weekly Zelda content!   Follow The Zelda Cast! The GameCube was home to a wide variety of Zelda releases like Windwaker, Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time Master Quest and more. But few remember the "other" Zelda game that came out, a multiplayer experience that blended the old with the new, a link to the past meets windwaker. This was Four Swords Adventures, a curious title on the cube that deserves a lot of recognition. Neil and Mike bring on @toonietwirls who like Neil played this game recently and as a single player while friend of the show @cpawx joins to talk about his experience playing this with his friends on their GameBoy Advances in 2004 (link cables sold separately). A unique entry to the Zelda canon that didn't even crack a million copies sold, this is yet another example of Nintendo taking risks in the GameCube era to create new ways to enjoy a franchise.
