The Munsons are joined by guest Munson Krystal Clark to shine a light on one of the most quietly impressive performers working today: Amy Ryan. From a stage career boasting three Tony nominations to a film and television résumé filled with range, Ryan has built a career that somehow flies under the radar while consistently delivering memorable performances. We dig into her standout role in The Wire, which finally settles a long-running agreement between Aubrey and James—and yes, it means Aubrey will inevitably have to watch The Sopranos. From there, we explore how Ryan has become synonymous with memorable characters across some of the greatest television shows ever made, while also noticing a surprising trend: she's appeared in a lot of projects centered around the trauma of children. Coincidence? The Munsons investigate. We absolutely gush over her Oscar-nominated performance in Gone Baby Gone and question how she didn't take home the Academy Award. Her heartfelt turn as Holly on The Office gets its flowers for making audiences forgive the impossible—Michael Scott leaving the show—while we also highlight her sneaky comedic chops in films like Central Intelligence. Along the way, we try to unpack the “why” behind her eclectic role choices and wonder how someone this consistently great isn't more widely known by general audiences. How does she rank on the Munson Meter? Listen to find out. In this episode, the boys review a satisfactory result from the NSC road trip to Atlanta where Dan Lovitz once again continued his renaissance and made his case for being one of the best defenders in the MLS. The boys got excited that Nashville once again scored off of a corner kick, and as has become an Electric Gold requirement, they gush over the play of Eddi Tagseth. Then, the boys celebrate a true Nashville institution - the Belcourt Theater, and they talk about the joy of the midnight movie and all the shenanigans that go along with it. They get in some hot takes about how terrible astroturf is and how the team is going to ace the month of May. And oops, they almost forgot Aw Hell Naw but still make time to shake their heads at Joe Willis and Alex Muyl. Finally, they gaze into their crystal balls to make bold predictions about the upcoming matches versus Chattanooga and Charlotte. And they drink beer.
And we did it without use of excessive force. On Halloween, the newly formed This Is Nashville Blaction Team (aka producer Elizabeth Burton and host Khalil Ekulona) took to the streets to find Nashville's unofficial mayor, Willie "Big Fella" Sims. Along the way, they sought answers to a question at the top of all of our minds: what is the scariest place for Black people in Nashville? Now, we received some feedback about this episode. Some positive, some negative. But the issue isn't so black and white. We'll unpack it all today in an extended @us! segment. And you'll have the opportunity to call us and leave your feedback live on air. Plus, we'll have a previously unaired interview with Sheronica Hayes of the Belcourt Theater. Guests: Big Fella Elizabeth Burton Sheronica Hayes

John is out this week, so it’s just the two brothers on the microphone. They both saw the Nashville film, Lion Suit Dreamscape at the Belcourt Theater and talk about the film. This leads into Sports Talk which quickly leads into what makes a grown man cry. David gives his answers and Lee tries to conjure up a time or two. That somehow leads into the fires in Gatlinburg and a film David saw called Pervert Park. Lee wants a One World Order and this somehow ends up devolving into what time period they would like to time travel to in history. Also one of the hosts almost died this week and they try to solve a childhood mystery in the process. The movie premiered at Nashville’s Belcourt Theater with a star-studded lineup and a rather large check presentation for Children’s Miracle Network. The new movie by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is now on store shelves only in Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club, so make sure you pick up a copy soon.
