This week on The Analysis, Bob Pantalone welcomes back film fanatic and pop culture critic Brittney Brown for a deep dive into Apple TV's breakout hit The Studio—a smart, satirical rollercoaster produced by and starring Seth Rogen. From Martin Scorsese directing a Kool-Aid Man movie to Bryan Cranston mangling lobster at a blackjack table, The Studio hilariously pulls back the curtain on the chaotic, ego-filled, and often absurd world of modern moviemaking. Brittney and Bob unpack their favorite episodes, dig into how real-life industry pressures show up in the storytelling, and reflect on Rogen's evolution as a creator who's not afraid to make himself the punchline.
What do a detective novelist, a WWII radio drama, and a blockbuster film have in common? According to Dr. Crystal Downing — everything. In this episode of Thinking Christian, I’m joined by Dr. Crystal Downing, former co-director of the Marion E. Wade Center and author of The Wages of Cinema, to explore what it means to see Christianly. Drawing on the often-overlooked theology of Dorothy L. Sayers, we challenge the idea that film is just a vehicle for a message. Instead, we unpack how film — like the Incarnation — is about form, flesh, and the fullness of expression. We talk about why reducing movies to “good messages” is a kind of cinematic Docetism, how Sayers’ Trinitarian model of creativity reframes Christian art, and why Christians should stop watching movies passively and start engaging them as embodied works of meaning. Expect commentary on Birdman, Bridge on the River Kwai, The Matrix, and yes… even Dodgeball. This conversation is a deep dive into media, theology, and why Christians need to become more attentive critics — not just consumers — of the stories that shape us.

The fire rises, brother! This week we conclude our Nolan run with the biggest and most divisive entry in his Batman saga. Also discussed this week: the origins of Tom Hardy's infamous Bane voice, whether or not Joseph Gordon Levitt's character should have just been named Dick Grayson, and…why the hell is Bruce so fucking cruel to Alfred?Next week it's bonus time, baby! Alejandro González Iñárritu may not have made a Batman movie per se…but there's no way we could skip BIRDMAN for this series. in 5: MATABOT: Apple saca músculo y humor desde el futuro Serie de ciencia ficción con tintes de comedia que se basa en las novelas de Martha Wells. NOTA EDC: 3 estrellas

First, let's witness the first Pop Star to go "to space" — would you have ever guessed it'd be Katy Perry? OK, maybe. (Plus, Gayle!) Then, we're contending with Coachella (weekend #1), where the brand activations have been...activated. Ester Dean and Keri Hilson dig themselves deeper (if possible) into a "feud" with Beyoncé (or Ciara?) (Does it matter when you're already posted up at the Khia Asylum?) Joe Mangianello helps bring back the dire wolves (kinda!) and Francesca Farago reveals some spicy anti-Haley Bieber payola going around on TikTok... Plus, Brandon Sklenar gets accused of being "Walmart Glen Powell" and "TJ & Amy: Engagement Watch" continues on! Gleb and Brooks might have broken up for the FINAL time, while Emma Corrin and Rami Malek have broken up for the final time :( Toni and Birdman got [secretly] married? And then [publicly] divorced? Louis from 1D is dating a Love Islander and Adrien Grenier had a baby on his farm... E-I-E-I-O.
