First, let's witness the first Pop Star to go "to space" — would you have ever guessed it'd be Katy Perry? OK, maybe. (Plus, Gayle!) Then, we're contending with Coachella (weekend #1), where the brand activations have been...activated. Ester Dean and Keri Hilson dig themselves deeper (if possible) into a "feud" with Beyoncé (or Ciara?) (Does it matter when you're already posted up at the Khia Asylum?) Joe Mangianello helps bring back the dire wolves (kinda!) and Francesca Farago reveals some spicy anti-Haley Bieber payola going around on TikTok... Plus, Brandon Sklenar gets accused of being "Walmart Glen Powell" and "TJ & Amy: Engagement Watch" continues on! Gleb and Brooks might have broken up for the FINAL time, while Emma Corrin and Rami Malek have broken up for the final time :( Toni and Birdman got [secretly] married? And then [publicly] divorced? Louis from 1D is dating a Love Islander and Adrien Grenier had a baby on his farm... E-I-E-I-O. Welcome to Jake's Happy Nostalgia Show, the podcast where nostalgia comes alive! On today's episode, we're joined by the incredibly talented dancer, singer, and musician Ryan Desaulnier! Originally from Canada, Ryan began his career performing in a variety of productions for the Stratford Festival before making the move to Australia, where he starred in the musical Evie & the Birdman, written by composer and songwriter John Field. That opportunity led him to work with one of the most beloved children's entertainment groups of all time—The Wiggles, from 2001 to 2007, where he performed on-screen and on-stage as a Wiggly Dancer, provided backing vocals for several albums and portrayed the role of Gallant George in The Wiggles' fifth television series! He was also an occasional understudy for several members of the group. After his time with The Wiggles, Ryan continued collaborating with John Field on various musical projects, started the rock band The Vinyl Edge, and remains active in the entertainment industry today. Now back in Canada, he's still pursuing his passion for performance.

Send us a textPrison. What's that like? Birdman and I are determined to find out, but not determined enough to go to prison. First up, Shot Caller: underrated gem of a action movie that gives a great look at how the institution perpetuates violence. Also a great reminder to stfu around cops. But hey, it can't all be murder and rectal repositories, ladies got prison too! It's just a lot more like a super chill spa. At least as portraied in Vendetta. "Ain't nobody coming to see you, Otis." This is what someone should've told Birdman when he was yapping at the Hot Boyz concert. Anyway, this episode will be wayyyy different from what you're used to. I know many things happened this week. Cole dropped, Diddy got dropped (iykyk ) so I'm aware of everything going on. However, that's for the Wednesday pod. Today let's just laugh, watch videos, and have some fun. Live today like it's your last, forget about the past, pour you an extra wine glass, because you get to watch the ABP today!Links:https://www.instagram.com/ericcurryiii/https://www.instagram.com/artsblockpodcast/https://linktr.ee/ArtsBlock?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabGF3YED4uyGsLzDMXXFuJoj6xNkIuj7h-FKBC9jKm8gflTyYN_ZQu9unQ_aem_eQNEgq3xAwJJ0MrAC_zxdQ

Kelly and Mark discuss this unforgettable episode – We hope you enjoy this discussion. “Dr. Mike grapples with her fear for Brian’s safety when the youngster befriends a seemingly harmless but eccentric fellow who thinks he’s a bird and covers himself with feathers in an attempt to fly. Martin Von Hoffman, the birdman, not only tries to fly, he also sleeps in a nest and literally pecks at his food when Dr. Mike invites him home for dinner. To her alarm, Martin turns out to be an escapee from a New York insane asylum. She is torn between returning him to the asylum or allowing him to carry on his self-deception in peace.” Birdman originally aired on April 18, 1998 Now there’s a place to buy Dr QuinnCast Merchandise! https://www.etsy.com/shop/ForYourLittleHouse Maybe you want something a little more handmade? Films usually have a nice structure to it that makes us feel complete ... the movie has a beginning, a middle, and an ending that kind of wraps everything up neatly. And then there are a few that just don't do that. LOL! The Academy Award-winning film for Best Picture of 2014, Birdman, doesn't do thta. The film is as open-ended as can be. However, the film's technical aspects, the acting, and direction, are all brilliant. This film is very unique ... and was praised by critics and movie goers everywhere. But all these years later, Does Birdman still hold up? In hindsight, should it still be regarded as the best of 2014?Listen to film critic Jack Ferdman's take on it as he analyzes everything about Birdman, as well as many other films from that year, and hear which film he gives his Rewatch Oscar of 2014.Download, listen, and share ALL Rewatching Oscar episodes.SUBSCRIBE and FOLLOW Rewatching Oscar:Website: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comApple Podcasts/iTunesSpotifyGoogle PodcastsiHear RadioPodchaserPodcast AddictTuneInAlexaAmazon Overcasts Podcast Addict Player FMRSS Feed: https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1815964.rssWebsite: https://rewatchingoscar.buzzsprout.comSocial Media Links: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, BlueSkyShare your thoughts and suggestions with us through:Facebook Messanger or email us atjack@rewatchingoscar.com or jackferdman@gmail.comMusic by TurpacShow Producer: Jack FerdmanPodcast Logo Design: Jack FerdmanMovie (audio) trailer courtesy of MovieClips Classic TrailersMovie (audio) clips courtesy of YouTubeSupport us by downloading, sharing, and giving us a 5-star Rating. Sound and music hold a strange and powerful role in film, TV and video games, aiding narrative and emotional impact. They can even exist in the world of ‘the film' – heard by the characters – or in the world of the audience. Music can even break the fourth wall, travelling through and blurring these conventionally separate worlds. By examining films through history from Blazing Saddles, Elf, The Truman Show to Birdman, we explore this ‘fantastical gap' and its transformative effect on the audience. This lecture was recorded by Milton Mermikides on 16th January 2025 at Rich Mix, London.Milton Mermikides is Gresham Professor of Music. He is Associate Professor in Music at the University of Surrey, Professor of Guitar at the Royal College of Music and Deputy Director of the International Guitar Research Centre. The transcript of the lecture is available from the Gresham College website:https://www.gresham.ac.uk/watch-now/sceen-musicGresham College has offered free public lectures for over 400 years, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. CONTENT WARNING: imprisonment, solitary confinement, murder, homosexuality. The duds just keep on coming this week as a movie about one of America's most dangerous (and quirky) prisoners just collapses under its own weight. Many times we celebrate directors and casts who deeply care about their subject. In this case, it somehow makes the whole experience worse, mostly because it commits the cardinal sin of being boring. It's not the worst movie we've ever seen, but it's a real drag to sit through. Oscars ‘62 continues as we talk about Birdman of Alcatraz onMacintosh & Maud Haven't Seen What?!
