Before beginning work as the Senior Oceans Campaigner for the Center for Biological Diversity in 2022, Brady played key roles in fighting off multiple waves of approvals for expanded federal offshore drilling under multiple Presidential Administrations, decisively defeating the largest offshore drilling proposal in history under former President Trump. In his work with the nonprofit Oceana, he also succeeded in securing kwy support for a national ban on shark fin sales and trade in the United States. His current work involves holding the existing oil industry accountable for the damage they have caused at sea, and forcing them to shut down their dangerous operations.Brady is a competitive freediver and has broken US national record 13 times, and North American continental records 4 times. As a passionate waterman and environmental activist, Brady has spent much of his life in water sports, marine biology studies, and ocean conservation. He graduated from UNC Wilmington with Honors in Marine Biology and went on to study for a short time on the Great Barrier Reef. He believes that human health, community empowerment, and ocean health are inseparable. As a competitive free diver and body surfer, he knows that the power of experience in the ocean can motivate us to protect it at all costs. After flying over the BP Oil Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, Brady made a vow: to eliminate the threat of the oil industry at sea so that life can thrive and recover in the absence of seismic airgun blasts and oil spills.Connect with Brady:https://www.instagram.com/bradyorca/ Journal Prompt:My Offerings: Harmony in the Forest, Brunswick, GAInlighten Retreat, PanamaSupport the showThanks for listening.xo-JackieWant to calm your mind, have better focus, and relieve inflammation in your body using organic plant medicine? Have you lost your enthusiasm for our valuation industry? Do you feel disconnected and uninspired? Welcome to another insightful episode of Indispensable Appraisers! My conversation with Charles V. Beyer, II, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS - Swift Real Estate.Charles Beyer's insights: The application of appraising over a lifetime is huge. There's a tremendous need for experienced, well-educated appraisers. Appraisers as being in the future are the tour guides through this maze of voluminous information. There's an opportunity but you have to pay your dues. I'm still working, not because I have to, but because I want to. The career itself is tremendously fulfilling on so many different levels. The onus is not so much on us, it's on them (the next generation). He was a chief appraiser for a bank, worked for a national firm, and had his own business and partnerships. It's all over the place. I've invested in real estate, just a tremendous opportunity career. Analogous story about BP's oil spill came back to BP not their subcontracted security and safety firms. Smaller banks are so hungry to know how to run an appraisal department. FIVA is a great way to have commonality since we're all facing the same type of issues. We can address those issues together and learn from one another. Let's start this conversation. Just call my cell 813-230-3798 or e-mail me Jeff@realwired.com. This episode concludes a four-part series on the necessity of exposure and the factor of shame on the journey of change. It is a fascinating look at the emotional root issue of seemingly complex world problems, the power of exposure, and how understanding shame makes everything both simple and solvable. We also talk about the endless supply of bad apologies in the media today, the metaphysics of Star Wars, the BP Oil Disaster, and disgraced evangelical leaders. Shame and how it prevents real responsibility is everywhere.
