In order to save and more importantly restore biodiversity we don't need biodiversity or carbon credits; we need biologists to find super profitable business models within the magical deeply complex world of nature. It's the case of Toby Parkes, founder and CEO of Rhizocore, with whom go deep into the third, mostly ignored, and much more complex kingdom: fungi. We talk numbers that matter to forest managers: commercial sites often lose 15–25% of trees in year one, native mixes 35–50%. Across 70+ sites, Rhizocore's locally sourced pellets consistently cut losses in half and add roughly 20% in height and girth, with outsized benefits under drought. We also explore the bigger vision: a frozen library of hundreds of strains that powers not only forestry but new lines like nutrient capture from farm runoff and wastewater. Think high-throughput screening for fungi that strip nitrates and phosphates fast, plus future prospects for enzymes and therapeutics- practical ways to put ecology on the balance sheet.More about this episode.==========================In Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food podcast show we talk to the pioneers in the regenerative food and agriculture space to learn more on how to put our money to work to regenerate soil, people, local communities and ecosystems while making an appropriate and fair return. Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next. The quiet ache of a cold marriage rarely starts in the bedroom. It starts when a man trades identity for titles, chases approval, and forgets how to lead himself. We sit down with Ralph Brewer—best-selling author of The Dead Bedroom Fix and founder of Help For Men—to cut through noise and name what actually rebuilds connection: self-worth, boundaries, and a steady, values-led presence.Ralph shares his own rock-bottom divorce story and the years-long rebuild that followed, then maps the most common patterns he sees in men: anxious attachment, Nice Guy tendencies, and a belief that effort alone earns intimacy. We break down why the honeymoon fades, why scorekeeping kills desire, and how leadership works without macho bluster—making decisions, setting tone, and responding to feedback without getting defensive. You'll hear why “get jacked and she'll want you” is a half-truth at best, and why deep work on identity beats cosmetic fixes every time.If you've felt like a stranger in your own home, this is a clear path forward. Define your values beyond titles. Lead yourself daily. Build alliances that keep you honest. From there, intimacy—emotional and physical—has a chance to grow again, or you'll find the strength for a clean break with your self-respect intact.Key moments in this episode:02:02 Guest Introduction: Ralph Brewer 06:36 Understanding the Dead Bedroom Phenomenon15:02 Addressing Childhood Influences on Adult Relationships20:54 The Importance of Men's Work23:34 Understanding Men's Ignorance and Codependency27:52 The Role of Community in Men's Healing32:37 The Never-Ending Process of Healing34:26 The Power of Community and Mentorship37:47 Final Thoughts and Call to ActionHow to reach Ralph:Website: https://helpformen.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/realhelpformen/IG: https://www.instagram.com/realhelpformenYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@realhelpformenPodcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/help-for-men/id1759966446Gifts: https://helpformen.com/revolutionarymanSupport the showThanks for listening to the Revolutionary Man Podcast. Returning to the Body: Finding Peace in Times of Chaos

Messages from the Universe with Laurie Wondra

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 17, 2025 30:55

In times of chaos, it's easy to drift away from ourselves — to become unmoored from the body as life's noise grows louder. When uncertainty rises, our spirit often retreats for protection, leaving us feeling numb, detached, or scattered. Yet the body is not our limitation — it is our anchor, our sacred vessel through which divine wisdom takes form. To return to the body is to remember that we are not meant to escape life's storms but to embody peace within them. The body becomes our bridge between Heaven and Earth, where intuition flows clearly, emotions find balance, and healing takes root.Reconnection begins with awareness — noticing breath, sensation, and emotion without judgment. When we listen to the subtle language of the body, we learn its rhythm: tension asking for rest, tears asking for release, the heartbeat calling us home. Grounding practices such as deep breathing, mindful movement, sensory awareness, and time in nature help reweave the bond between spirit and flesh. Through these acts, the nervous system calms, energy realigns, and our light body harmonizes again. Chaos, rather than an enemy, becomes a catalyst — shaking us free of illusion so we can live in greater authenticity and truth. To live embodied is to live awake. It is the art of finding stillness in motion and grace amid uncertainty. From this presence, peace is not something to seek but something that naturally arises. Each breath, each heartbeat, becomes a prayer of return — a reminder that you are safe, you are loved, and you belong to this moment. When you inhabit your body fully, you become a steady light for others — a living example that even in a world trembling with change, peace and joy are still possible here, in this breath, in this now.Send us a textSupport the showThanks for listening - For questions or comments email Laurie at Laurie@yourlifecore.comInstagram @yourlifecore or Twitter @yourlifecore Facebook https://www.facebook.com/YourLifecoreWebsite www.yourlifecore.com

The source is a podcast sermon delivered by a pastor named Jim West from ColonialKC, focusing on a passage from the Book of Genesis. Specifically, the message interprets the story of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1–9) as an illustration of humanity's sinful inclination toward self-promotion, self-protection, and the "idolatry of our own opinion." West argues that the people's desire to build a tower and a city was a direct act of disobedience to God's command to "fill the earth." The sermon then contrasts this human tendency with God's "merciful redirection," asserting that God confuses their language and disperses them for their own ultimate benefit, preventing them from corrupting themselves entirely. The pastor closes by urging the audience to trust God's will over their own judgment, citing Jesus's perfect obedience as the ultimate example.Support the showThanks for listening! And he certainly never stopped at self-actualization. At the end of his career, Maslow emphasized something deeper: a movement beyond the self into a state of connection, meaning, creativity, and belonging.Together, Tom and Ruth unpack:Why Maslow's hierarchy was never meant to be a pyramidHow transcendence connects “me” to “we” and restores our sense of belongingWhy love, awe, creativity, and community are essential components of wellnessHow “us and them” thinking blocks transcendence and fragments our humanityWhy every organism in nature thrives through interdependence—and what humans can relearn from thatA practical way to check if your needs are being met or if you're stuck in fight-or-flightTranscendence isn't mystical or unreachable. It's the human experience of rising above survival, reconnecting to the larger web of life, and rediscovering the joy of being part of something bigger. If you're seeking deeper meaning, grounded wisdom, and a more holistic understanding of what it means to thrive, this episode offers a powerful and refreshing perspective.Support the showThanks for listening! You can follow us onFacebook Instagram Leave us a review on Apple Podcasts Check out the Autonomic Healing Website & InnerWorkings WebsiteEmail Tom thomasjpals@innerworkings.orgEmail Ruth ruth@bridgeandrhino.comSupport usWe appreciate you!

Send us a textPain shows up on its own schedule; suffering often arrives by invitation. We explore the “second arrow” mindset—an old teaching with fresh power—that separates life's unavoidable hits from the self-inflicted loops that follow. I walk through why the first arrow is a fixed cost of being human and how the second arrow quietly taxes your confidence, focus, and momentum when you need them most.Across real moments like missed promotions, ghosted texts, and blown deadlines, we map the difference between remembering and reliving. You'll learn the concept of memory liabilities—ruminations that drain your energy—and memory dividends—lessons that compound into better systems and faster recovery. I share a simple four-step method to catch the second arrow in real time: name it, pause the mental movie, ask if it helps or hurts, and extract the lesson with one small system change. Think midweek checkpoints, earlier communication, or clear reminders that turn setbacks into training data.We also talk identity and compassion. Past you didn't know what current you knows. That perspective matters because the people who seem to “always win” still get hit by life; they just refuse to keep stabbing themselves afterward. The rule we build together is direct and doable: suffer once. Feel the first arrow fully, learn quickly, then move on lighter and more confident. If the loop tries to restart, run the steps again and shorten it with practice.Ready to stop shooting the second arrow and start banking memory dividends? Follow the show, share this with someone stuck in a mental replay, and leave a quick review to tell me what system you'll try this week.Support the showThanks for listening & being part of the Mindset Cafe Community.----------------------------------------------Connect With Devan:https://www.devangonzalez.com/connect----------------------------------------------Follow On Instagram https://www.instagram.com/devan.gonzalez/https://www.instagram.com/mindsetcafepodcastLet me know what topics or questions you want covered so we can help you achieve your goals faster.

And with the help of my good friend Chef Lewis of Radnor's Burgers, some Philly cheesesteaks from Legendz & 100 proof tequila from my guests, this episode quickly became an instant classic. Another huge thanks to Eastside Bill for capturing the moment as well and a huge thanks to DJ QJ of Post Office Studios for opening the space for me once again. As some of you may already know, Manuscript has ditched the old school style a kitchen has been known to be ran and has instead, installed a new, conventional, teamwork style that has all chefs seeing eye to eye. From new recipe items on the food menu to new drinks on the cocktail menu, this spot works as a team and consult with each other on everything. You feel it the moment you walk in. And it shows in the food. The way it looks and especially the way it tastes. Same with the drinks. Everything done with care. S/O Eda! They did that and are doing it still. If you haven't been in yet, this is your calling. They also boast one of the best brunches in town-fully intact with local dj's DJ Semaj & DJ Hanibal who keep the vibe rolling every weekend. Meet Julia Kasper, cofounder and CEO of Zukunftmoor, a company rewetting drained peatlands and growing sphagnum moss to transform how we think about agriculture. Their powerful approach reduces greenhouse gas emissions and makes climate-friendly farming possible in peatland regions.Peatlands, peatlands, peatlands: the biggest climate opportunity in agriculture isn't cover crops or even silvopasture, but rewetting the humble peatlands. They cover only 3% of the global land surface, yet hold immense amounts of CO2. And when they're drained- as many are- they release it, not just once, but year after year after year. Like a bathtub with the plug out and the shower still on.These lands, at least in Europe, are often farmed and not very profitable. But before these farmers risk their livelihoods, we need concrete alternatives to transition. That's what Julia works on: how to grow something that can replace current agricultural methods on peatlands while rewetting them. And it seems they've found a big part of the puzzle: rewetting peatlands and growing sphagnum moss. Currently, when you buy a plant in a shop or when plants are grown in greenhouses, the growing medium contains a lot of extracted peat, which comes with huge emissions and will soon be illegal in Europe. Sphagnum moss can replace this 1-to-1. More about this episode.==========================In Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food podcast show we talk to the pioneers in the regenerative food and agriculture space to learn more on how to put our money to work to regenerate soil, people, local communities and ecosystems while making an appropriate and fair return.
