A conversation with Darren J Doherty, co-founder of Regrarians, in the space of regeneration and regenerating for over 35 years, about the role of technology, AI, and large language models in training farmers and agronomists. We touch on how expensive and too-short workshops are hurting everyone, and why a hybrid model, grounded on the land and in person, combined with much longer online engagement, might be one way to move forward. We also explore what it means to reinvent yourself after spending years deeply immersed in a project, only to resurface and realise the regenerative world has shifted. Suddenly, you need to work harder to get attention, to find work, and to fill your courses. And yet, there's so much value in being able to draw on decades of experience and the thousands upon thousands of farmers and land stewards you've worked with through times of transition. We ask why larger corporations haven't reached out to tap into this expertise: why aren't they calling about training their farmers or agronomists? It seems we may be exiting the phase of dogmatic pioneers, the era when it had to be permaculture, or holistic management, or keyline design, and entering something more pragmatic. A moment where the focus is shifting toward whatever actually works: on your land, in your human context, and within your market.More about this episode.==========================In Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food podcast show we talk to the pioneers in the regenerative food and agriculture space to learn more on how to put our money to work to regenerate soil, people, local communities and ecosystems while making an appropriate and fair return. In this urgent episode, we expose how systemic failures allowed this to happen: from fake documents and human trafficking to exploited loopholes and missing billions of taxpayer money. We'll break down the shocking Home Office report, analyze the related dinghy smuggling scandal, and examine the government's controversial new policy of deporting criminals instead of jailing them. With 61% of Brits now citing immigration as the country's most divisive issue, we ask the critical question: Is this sheer incompetence or something more sinister? Send us a textEver feel caught between pushing harder and pulling back? That tension point is exactly what we explore in this candid conversation about navigating life's demands while still pursuing your goals. In this episode, we break down the delicate art of knowing when to go all-in and when to conserve energy. This balance isn't just about training—it's a universal principle that applies to careers, relationships, and personal development. The concept of "minimum effective dose" becomes crucial during high-stress periods. We share how maintaining non-negotiables (nutrition, hydration, sleep) while adjusting training intensity helped us stay on track despite additional life demands. Communication is key. Whether with your coach, training partner or life partner, transparency about life stressors allows for intelligent adjustments before burnout hits. We discuss how many athletes wait too long to communicate challenges, missing opportunities for proactive changes to their training and or schedule.Perhaps most valuable is our exploration of the power of planning. Even for the spontaneous among us like Nate, having a framework creates freedom rather than limitation. A good plan doesn't mean rigid adherence—it means having direction when chaos strikes. The payoff for this strategic approach isn't immediate gratification but sustainable progress toward meaningful goals. Whether you're preparing for competition, career advancement, or simply trying to balance multiple life demands, mastering this push-pull dynamic could be your secret weapon.Ready to apply these principles to your training and life? Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next. What if the stress and pressure you've been taught are necessary for success are actually holding you back? Dr. Brian Hite, high-performance psychologist and professional stuntman with over 30 years of experience in Hollywood and elite military training, shares groundbreaking insights that challenge everything we think we know about performing under pressure.Drawing from both Eastern and Western philosophies, Brian reveals that pressure isn't something inherent in situations—it exists only in our minds when we focus on potential consequences rather than present actions. He carefully distinguishes between stress (which stems from perceiving situations as threatening) and pressure (which comes from fixating on future outcomes), offering a revolutionary framework for eliminating both.Through his Phase X methodology, Brian breaks down performance into four critical phases—before, right before, during, and after—providing actionable strategies for managing your physical, mental, emotional, and social states in each phase. This structured approach transforms overwhelming high-stakes moments into manageable processes where you can maintain focus on what truly matters.Perhaps most compelling is Brian's insight about opportunity in challenging situations. He explains that seizing opportunities requires three elements: the awareness to recognize possibilities, the flexibility to pivot from established paths, and the courage to take that first step into the unknown. His concept of the "point of no return"—that liberating moment where commitment becomes complete and anxiety often vanishes—offers a powerful reframe for anyone facing difficult decisions.Whether you're struggling with career challenges, relationship conversations, or personal growth obstacles, Brian's practical wisdom will help you transform how you experience life's most demanding moments. Stop enduring pressure and start eliminating it. Your path to peak performance begins with mastering the present moment.Key moments in this episode:03:11 Brian's Journey and Insights 11:03 Defining High Stakes and Pressure13:16 Eastern and Western Philosophies on Stress17:15 Understanding Pressure vs. Stress22:41 The Role of Arousal in Performance25:13 Boosting Motivation and Managing Pressure27:57 Understanding Phase X Program28:48 Implementing Mental Skills in the Military30:04 Four Phases of Performance33:27 Applying Phase X in Everyday Life37:43 Self-Awareness, Acceptance, and Self-Regulation42:13 Recognizing and Seizing Opportunities46:31 Final Thoughts and Contact InformationHow to reach Brian:Website: https://www.brianhiteglobal.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brian.hite1/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/brianchite/Book: Support the showThanks for listening to the Revolutionary Man Podcast. As a result, it's kind of all over the place. But in a shorter-than-usual episode we managed to cover the major plot points. This movie has so much stuff and people in it that don't really matter, it's sometimes hard to follow. Climate change has melted a glacier in the Arctic enough to expose an old Nazi warship that was frozen in the ice. The thaw-out jump started some old Zombie and flying shark experiments that the Nazis had conducted near the end of World War II. As a result, the Sky Sharks are set loose to terrorize the skies. Together, they unpack how living systems—down to the cellular level—act with agency, intentionally shaping and being shaped by their environments. From Walter Cannon's classic definition of homeostasis to Aristotle's ideas on purposefulness, the discussion bridges evolutionary biology, biophysics, and wellness science. Scott Turner explains why adaptation is more than mechanistic feedback loops—it's about purposeful striving at every level, from microbiomes to ecosystems. The trio dives deep into the “many little lives” metaphor, revealing how cellular conversations influence our overall health, vitality, and resilience—and how disruption in those conversations can lead to illness, cancer, and even addiction.Key topics include:The agency of living systems and its role in adaptation and wellnessHow niche construction theory challenges modern DarwinismWhy homeostasis is misunderstood and how it truly operatesThe parallels between ecosystem health and human healthThe role of interoception in restoring balance and fostering well-beingWhether you're a wellness professional, leader, or simply curious about the science of thriving, this episode offers a fresh lens on what it means to be well—and how to consciously participate in the adaptive conversations that sustain life.Support the showThanks for listening! You can follow us onFacebook Instagram Leave us a review on Apple Podcasts Check out the Autonomic Healing Website & InnerWorkings WebsiteEmail Tom thomasjpals@innerworkings.orgEmail Ruth ruth@bridgeandrhino.comSupport usWe appreciate you!

A conversation with Rob de Laet, project lead of Cooling the Climate and co-author of the book Cooling the Climate: How to Revive the Biosphere and Cool the Earth Within 20 Years. The science is pretty clear and getting clearer by the day: water cools the planet. The more living, healthy vegetation we have on this planet, predominately perennials and thus trees, agroforestry systems and healthy forests, the cooler the climate is and the less extreme weather events occur. Living plants literally make the Earth sweat and remove heat from the biosphere.Humans have systematically devegetated the planet as Judith D. Schwartz likes to say, and the ongoing climate weirding suggests we may have gone too far. Now we're seeing real calculations: how many square kilometres do we need to regenerate to lower the global temperature by just one degree? If this is all becoming increasingly evident, why isn't it common knowledge yet, especially in the headquarters of banks, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and governments? This is the story of a successful entrepreneur getting drawn into water cycle restoration, planetary cooling and all the good stuff that comes with it. We share notes on why this movement, maybe the defining story of our time, hasn't broken through yet and what we can do about it.More about this episode.==========================In Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food podcast show we talk to the pioneers in the regenerative food and agriculture space to learn more on how to put our money to work to regenerate soil, people, local communities and ecosystems while making an appropriate and fair return. Send us a textWhat if the path to profound sexual connection begins long before anyone enters the bedroom? Christian de la Huerta, author of "Conscious Love: Transforming Our Relationship to Relationships," reveals how emotional awareness creates the foundation for sacred sexuality and deeper relationship satisfaction. Most of us are surprisingly clueless about our emotions, suppressing them until they either erupt volcanically or manifest as physical ailments. Christian walks us through practical approaches to developing emotional intelligence, including a simple grid method to check in with yourself throughout the day. This awareness creates choice in how we respond rather than react, allowing us to take responsibility for our feelings instead of blaming others. The conversation takes a fascinating turn as we explore how historical and cultural factors have separated sexuality from spirituality. In many ancient traditions, sexuality was considered sacred—a pathway to transcendence and union. Christian challenges the artificial divide between physical and spiritual realms, offering practical ways to reclaim the sanctity of sexual connection. Let me know your thoughts on the show and what topic you would like me to discuss next. What happens when the doctor becomes the patient? Dr. Michael J. Hession's world turned upside down when a simple cold escalated into life-threatening pneumonia, putting him on a ventilator for 11 days followed by complete paralysis from Guillain-Barré syndrome. His remarkable journey from the edge of death to recovery offers powerful lessons about resilience, purpose, and finding happiness in the face of overwhelming adversity. The distinguished cardiologist shares his near-death experience where he encountered a luminous figure who told him, "It is not your time, you must go back. There's much to do." This profound spiritual moment, coupled with the brutal realities of rehabilitation – learning to swallow, sit up, and eventually walk again – transformed his understanding of what it means to be both a physician and a human being.Drawing wisdom from Viktor Frankl, Admiral Stockdale, and his own father's immigrant tenacity, Dr. Hession developed a framework for overcoming seemingly impossible challenges: acknowledge the facts, accept the situation without anger or denial, and adapt by finding a path forward. His story demonstrates how vulnerability and strength can coexist, and how gratitude becomes the foundation for genuine happiness. For anyone supporting loved ones through critical illness, Dr. Hession offers crucial insights about the power of presence.
