Text a Message to the ShowToday we return to police officer JD Pettey to talk about what happens when an officer starts talking during someone else's tragedy and how badly that can go.  JD's family has had a number of serious tragedies and he was gracious enough to share those difficult memories with us because each story is an example of cops saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, even when they knew they were talking to a fellow police.  Obviously this is a sensitive conversation with discussion of suicide and other tragic deaths, but this is also one of my favorite conversations I've ever had with a police officer.  I think it was instructive, insightful, and even funny at times.  And we've all been there, when you need just the right words, and instead you put your foot your mouth.Music is by Alexander Nakarada and by National SweetheartHey Chaplain Podcast Episode 132.5Tags:Police, Accidents, Assumptions, Communication, Death Notifications, Family, Humor, Jargon, Loss, Professionalism, Suicide, Tragedy, Kansas City, Kansas, Missouri, OklahomaSupport the showThanks for Listening! Messages from the Universe with Laurie Wondra

Lovescope for 2026 Podcast is an invitation to experience love as more than romance — as a living frequency shaping how we connect, speak, and begin again. In a Universal Year One, love becomes foundational rather than ornamental. It is the stabilizing force behind new beginnings, illuminating not only intimate relationships but everyday interactions, shared humanity, and the quiet moments where connection unexpectedly appears. This episode explores how love is becoming more visible, spoken, and embodied — not as performance or possession, but as a shared field that restores trust and softens fear.As 2026 unfolds, love emerges as an intelligent, organizing energy that helps us integrate change rather than resist it. When love leads, illumination can be received without overwhelm. This podcast reflects on the collective hunger for authentic connection, meaningful conversation, and partnerships that invite honesty, depth, and growth. Love is no longer hidden or cautious — it is being expressed openly, bridging differences and reminding us of our common heart in a world that has known division. This Lovecast offers a sign-by-sign love horoscope for 2026, guiding listeners through the timing, themes, and opportunities each zodiac sign will encounter. From openings for new romance and chemistry to moments for healing old heartache or deepening long-term partnerships, these insights help you understand how love wants to move through your life this year. In Episode 129 of The Eat for Endurance Podcast, I'm joined by ultrarunner, coach, and host of The Everyday Ultra Podcast, Joe Corcione. Joe's story is not the typical “natural-born athlete” narrative. He wasn't active growing up, and he struggled with drugs and alcohol as a teenager and young adult. With a willingness to do the work (both physically and mentally) and make small changes, Joe gradually became sober and reshaped his identity. He went on to finish over 25 ultramarathons, coach runners around the world, and build the Everyday Ultra community.Throughout our conversation, you'll notice a powerful theme around the stories we tell ourselves and how these stories impact our behavior. Joe and I explore:How his early beliefs that he was "unathletic" held him back for years to comeWhy small, consistent changes matter more than extremesHow shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset helped him recover from addiction, start running longer distances, and determine what eating style worked best for his bodyWhy endurance athletes cannot only rely on exercise as a coping toolWhat sustainable ultramarathon training really looks likeHow he fuels himself during training runs and races

Send us a textSome years don't just challenge you—they level you. After losing my dad and a dear friend, my body crashed, my energy evaporated, and work I love got painfully scarce. The worst part? I couldn't name why. Steroids, sleep hacks, strict routines—nothing touched the deep, whole-body ache or the fog that made simple tasks feel like mountains. So I did the uncomfortable thing: I kept asking questions until I got real answers. What finally clicked was a second diagnosis layered on my rheumatoid arthritis—fibromyalgia. Suddenly the relentless fatigue, unrefreshing sleep, and unpredictable pain made sense. With my doctor, I started Cymbalta and doubled down on an anti-inflammatory approach to food, cutting sugar and refined carbs and trying carnivore short-term. Within days, my mood lifted and the pain dialed down just enough to start moving forward. Not cured, but hopeful. Not sprinting, but finally walking without shame. That's where a new motto was born: Stack Gold Bricks In 26. Each brick stands for a pillar—health, family, faith, finances, real estate deals, learning, generosity. Big wins are big bricks. Small habits are coins. Both count. I refuse to live in all-or-nothing mode that burns you out and leaves you with nothing to show. This year I'm leaning into practical education—tight YouTube trainings, focused half-day workshops, and back-to-basics real estate strategies for lead generation, fair offers, creative exits, and disciplined follow-through. The market is noisy, but the fundamentals work when you do.If last year bruised you too, you're not alone. Start with one brick you can place today: book the test, ask for help, prep a low-inflammation meal, or do ten minutes of focused work. We'll build momentum together—patiently, honestly, and on purpose. Subscribe, share this with someone who needs a lift, and leave a review to tell me your first brick for 2026. How to get more entrepreneurs building in the regeneration space? If you are a regular listener of this podcast, you have heard us discuss this so many times you probably lost count. No, we are not saying entrepreneurs and companies are the solution to all our problems. But entrepreneurial people who set up companies, but also non-profits and movements— basically people who don't accept the status quo and get to work to change it—are always the ones who change the world. So how do we get more of those started in the biggest challenge of all: how to regenerate a severely degraded world? And when people get bitten by the “soil” bug, how do we give them all the support and resources to make sure the chances of them succeeding against most odds are as high as possible? Cheryl has spent nearly 16 years guiding singles through a noisy dating landscape, and she lays out a clear path from fatigue to fit: fewer introductions, deeper screening, and coaching that helps you focus on what actually sustains a relationship. We dig into the real tradeoffs between dating apps and professional matchmaking: speed and volume versus trust and compatibility. You'll hear why long checklists sabotage momentum, how to narrow to your three or four non-negotiables, and what happens when you challenge assumptions about age and body type. Rather than rushing forward, we are reminded that true illumination is steady, embodied, and rooted in daily choice. This episode weaves together solar wisdom, numerology, and soulful reflection, offering practical ways to carry the light forward — through presence, compassion, and aligned action. You'll be guided through a short meditation to ignite your inner Sun and set the energetic tone for the year ahead. As the new nine-year cycle begins, this podcast serves as an invitation to step into leadership of self, honor the fire within, and become a Keeper of the Light — not by shining louder, but by living truer.A grounding, inspiring start to 2026 for anyone ready to begin again with clarity and heart. Send us a textSupport the showThanks for listening - For questions or comments email Laurie at Laurie@yourlifecore.comInstagram @yourlifecore or Twitter @yourlifecore Facebook https://www.facebook.com/YourLifecoreWebsite www.yourlifecore.com

Enjoy. We also mention the Yew tree. Both Sensei Jackie and I think it came up in one of our Archery episodes. (We did 3). Here they are. Let us know if we're right and the Yew bark is used in the making of certain bows.https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episodes/6125029And these two are specific to Kyundo:https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episodes/6327931and:https://www.buzzsprout.com/477379/episodes/6422461This episode is also special because I reached out to a friend and fellow black belt, Sensei Haya, and she wrote us a poem to end the show. I love it so much, I'm copying it here: Pick Your PoisonThe sign says, No touching, smelling, or tasting. It's human nature to pick one. Touch: you'll get a nasty rash. Didn't you learn from when you used Ivy leaves for toilet paper while camping? Smell: it will look like botched Botox. And taste: your tongue is now the size of an eggplant. Breathing might stop altogether.I know the plant names are enticing—Oleander, Donkey tail, Nightshade, Thorn apple. The intoxicating is often toxic. What kind of life pleases God? According to Hebrews, it's a life of faith—and Pastor Josh McPherson makes it plain: faith is obedience. In this message, Pastor Josh calls Grace City Church into a continued season of consecration through prayer and fasting, urging the church to get “off the X” and move with urgent, wholehearted obedience. From Jonathan's climb toward overwhelming odds (1 Samuel 14) to the fresh hunger God is stirring in our people, this is a rallying cry to become a Jonathan Church—a remnant that runs toward the fight, trusts God for provision, and watches heaven respond.Support the showThanks for listening! Pastor Josh McPherson, on the fourth night of Church Camp 2026, shares 10 prophetic words for Grace City Church in what he believes is a kairos moment—an uncommon season of spiritual hunger, repentance, and renewed longing for God's presence. He defines prophetic words as timely, biblical, and weighty direction for a specific people, then calls the church to lean in and seek the Lord during this specific moment. This message is a “time capsule” for stewarding what God is doing right now—without manipulating it, but receiving and stewarding it faithfully.Support the showThanks for listening! This sermon uses the biblical vision of Revelation 7:9 to advocate for racial and cultural unity within the modern church. Pastor Greg Ealey employs the metaphor of an all-star baseball team to illustrate how diverse individuals can retain their unique identities while pursuing a common kingdom goal. By referencing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream, he emphasizes that earthly congregations should strive to mirror the multicultural worship found in heaven. The author argues that true oneness is achieved when believers allow their differences to bring them together and find common ground through the blood of Jesus Christ. Ultimately,  Pastor Greg calls for a "sea of red" where individual backgrounds are secondary to a shared allegiance to God. Oneness is when the world looks at us and all they see is sea of red. All they see is a people covered by the blood of Jesus. People doused with the grace of God. All they see is people sitting at the feet of Jesus. All they see is people sold out for the gospel of Jesus Christ. All they see is a oneness that can only come from Him who sits on the Throne and the Lamb, the precious Lamb of God.Support the showThanks for listening!
