Musician and filmmaker Dimitri Coats — guitarist for the punk supergroup OFF! and frontman for Burning Brides — joins host Aaron Sagers to discuss his punk rock sci-fi comedy feature film Free LSD, which he wrote, directed and stars in, as well as his own paradigm shifting experience with potential extraterrestrials. Receiving comparisons to Repo Man, Free LSD also stars OFF! singer Keith Morris (from the bands Black Flag and Circle Jerks) in the lead role, and other musicians David Yow (The Jesus Lizard) Autry Fulbright (And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead), DH Peligro (Dead Kennedys), as well as Jack Black, Dana Gould, Chelsea Debo, Chloe Dykstra, James Duval, Barry Del Sherman, Chris D., E.R. Ruiz, Gill Gayle, Davey Havok, and S.A. Griffin. MORE ABOUT FREE LSD Keith, an elderly sex shop owner, falls for a younger woman who visits his store looking for a gift. When their relationship turns physical, Keith's failure to perform leads him to a strange erectile dysfunction doctor who offers hope in the form of an experimental drug. The experience gives Keith much more than renewed manhood. It also provides a glimpse into a parallel universe where he is not only the singer of the band OFF!, but also the target of an advanced AI species that will stop at nothing to prevent the group from making a new album, which holds the key to an awakening of human consciousness. _______________________________________________________________ Talking Strange Paranormal Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture podcast featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as learned experts in all things strange and unexplained. Keith Morris and Dimitri Coats are back and this time with a brand new rhythm section. Now four LPs in, the newly constructed quartet sounds completely revitalized. The familiar OFF! punch is still there but now with new layers, textures and moods thrown into the mix. Free LSD might not be the bands best album but it's pretty damn great right now. You might know Pete Beeman from being the drummer in Guzzard —a mainstay of the early/mid ‘90s Minneapolis Amphetamine Reptile scene— or you might know him from his time playing for Burning Brides. But you're probably going to want to know him from his latest band: the thoroughly excellent Killer Hill — a band that just so happens to be one of the finest metal bands around right now. But Pete's not the kind of guy to promote himself, so the conversation quickly turns to other topics. Topics like torturing politicians, barf-o-ramas with Scott, gaslighting, playing drums for Local H, touring with Mastodon, “Soul Man” vs. “Soul Plane”, doing everything his brothers tell him to do, Ray Liotta, and posing as a beaver trapper. Yeah. That's right.
Having been hired to produce a Circle Jerks record that never happened, Dimitri Coats developed a strong bond with Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks) and, hey, waddyaknow…...OFF! was born.Formerly a drama student and actor, Dimitri's musical background is in classic hard rock with Burning Brides, so OFF! was something way different for him. He took on lead guitar, learned the art of downstrokes, songwriting, production and band management duties and here we are - one of the most thrilling bands around. It was totally engrossing talking to Dimitri about deep stuff like:- the importance of emotional intelligence in today's world- adaptability- the excitement of improvising and getting weird in the studio- how he continues to push himself out of his comfort zone, - how he and his bandmates - Keith, Justin and Autrey - thrive off each other's growth mindsets to experiment, do things differently and improve collectively and individually."Keith is making some of the most relevant music of his life - right now. We've really entered into a unique phase for a band like us"2022 promises to be a defining year for OFF!I Wanna Jump Like Dee Dee is a music podcast that does music interviews differently. I'm Giles Sibbald and I'm talking to extraordinary musicians, DJ's and producers about how they use an experimental mindset in their lives to amplify their own creativity, pursue new challenges, overcome fears and bounce back from mistakes.- brought to you by Hey Sunday, the mothership of the experimental mindset™.- podcast logo and art by Tide Adesanya, Coppie and Paste

Greetings! This week we talk with my dear friend Sally Grayson of Black Swift (and once upon a very short time, Mortal! Kind of. Not really) about her life as an expatriate, Hugs, & more- but mostly we discuss her big dilemma: Should she out herself? Hmmm... what is THIS all about? Come on in and find out! Enjoy.
Ep. 14 - Keith Morris (ex Black Flag/Circle Jerks) and Dimitri Coats (ex Burning Brides) stop by Bronson Island to talk about their favorite things to eat while touring with their current band OFF! We discuss the best place to eat near Jumbo's Clown Room in L.A., how to eat a pastrami sandwich at Langer's, the best BBQ in Atlanta, and how Keith copes with having diabetes on the road. Plus Dimitri tells us about their infamous arrest for stealing cooking oil from a Hawaiian BBQ place, and we get Keith to give us his thoughts about the Greg Ginn Band.
Old-school punkers OFF! are releasing a collection of 16 songs in under 18 minutes that prove punk is alive and well. Or, is this just more evidence that punk died decades ago, despite this effort from former members of Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Burning Brides and others to reclaim their glory days? Fair warning about some colorful language here.
A call with our alcoholic friend Timmy. We laugh because we care. Intro song "Something in the Way" by Burning Brides. Outro "Negative Creep" by the Dee Dee Ramone.
