Aaron Fink is back—and he's bringing a fresh chapter to his already multi-faceted music journey. On this episode of Bringin' It Backwards, Adam and Tera Lisicky catch up with Aaron over Zoom in his third appearance on the podcast. This time, it's all about his new solo album, The Invisible Line, and the creative process behind it. Aaron pulls back the curtain on what it's really like to juggle projects—from his time with Breaking Benjamin, to reuniting with Lifer, recording with Earshot, and finding his artistic voice as a solo act. He dives into the realities of recording (including why he does almost everything himself), what inspires his songwriting, and how the industry has changed for independent artists. Plus, Aaron gets candid about the struggles of touring these days, the personal shifts that come with growing older, and why it's more important than ever to create for the love of the music. If you're an aspiring musician trying to make sense of how to thrive in today's music world, or just a fan of Aaron's work across his bands and solo material, this episode is packed with honest, hard-earned insight. Make sure you listen to the full interview and subscribe to Bringin' It Backwards for more stories straight from the artists themselves.

In this week's episode of WSJ's Take On the Week, co-host Gunjan Banerji and guest co-host Miriam Gottfried dive into the big questions around the AI trade after last week's stumble. Could Nvidia's earnings this week shift things back? Meanwhile, Gunjan points out a shift under the market's surface: a rotation into blue chips as tech takes a back seat. Plus, earnings from Target and Walmart offer mixed signals on retail. Later, Miriam and Adrienne Yih, senior retail analyst at Barclays, are set to dive into the impact of tariffs on companies such as American Eagle Outfitters, Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch. Then, Yih tells Miriam why this back-to-school season is important for apparel retailers. Our last take: Which retailer has the most pricing power right now? This is WSJ's Take On the Week where co-hosts Gunjan Banerji, lead writer for Live Markets, and Telis Demos, Heard on the Street's banking and money columnist, cut through the noise and dive into markets, the economy and finance—the big trades, key players and business news ahead. Let's talk about it with self-made trading pro, crypto influencer, and coach Crypto Lifer. All kinds of naughty language, we talk about the S-word (scams) and T-word (tariffs), but also crypto stereotypes and politics, generational attitudes around money, and a big picture view of where crypto meets culture -- roll with or roll out! Sean Baker's impassioned speech at the 2025 Film Independent Spirit Awards (watch it here: https://youtu.be/yIxtMGRlx0k?si=0_QCG3cLpvqFDWKd) resonated deeply with me. Like him, I'm an indie film lifer—and that's okay. We get to define success on our terms, and we must demand what we're worth. The money is out there, and while we're not asking for a fortune, we won't accept pennies either. Indie filmmakers create jobs, revenue, and art that matters. It's time we shape the industry rather than let it shape us. Let's do this.
