Katherine never moved out. That's what makes the story harder to dismiss. The house has always looked ordinary — no tragic history, no age-darkened beams, no reason to expect anything unusual. But from the beginning, it behaved in small, deniable ways. Doors closed when they shouldn't. Objects fell without cause. “When I was in my teens, one of my friends lived in an old farmhouse on a road named after the original owner, Seth Morehouse. One evening, we were in her room and the radiator started gurgling. My friend said, “Seth is here.” The words were barely out of her mouth when her closet door opened. She told Seth that it was ok, that he could come out, and the door swung shut. Her closet was located in the eaves of the old house; it was fairly large and ran in a narrow space parallel to her bedroom wall. To my utter confusion, amazement, and terror - I woke up the next morning lying in that closet…” This is the Haunted UK Podcast and, for the 3rd time this season, it's time to hear more of YOUR amazing stories!Do you have an interesting story which you'd be willing to share with the show? The Style Reset continues, and this time, we go deeper. In Part Two of The Style Reset: How to Dress for the Life You're Actually Living, the conversation shifts from lifestyle alignment to something far more personal: closet guilt. The Style Reset continues, and this time the conversation goes deeper. In this follow-up episode of Wisdom From the Wardrobe, we move beyond identifying how you actually live and into one of the biggest obstacles standing between you and effortless personal style: guilt. We begin, as always, with In the News. This week, we reflect on the passing of legendary Italian designer Valentino Garavani, his cinematic inspirations, enduring glamour, and the unmistakable legacy of Valentino red, before pivoting to fashion's lighter side with the latest Crocs x Lego collaboration. From couture to clogs, it's proof that fashion holds space for both reverence and play. Then we turn inward and focus on letting go of guilt around the pieces you don't wear. Why do we hold onto clothes that no longer serve our daily lives, and how does that emotional weight keep us stuck in the same outfit cycle? We explore the idea that clothing is a tool, not a moral obligation, and how creating an "archive" mindset allows you to honor beautiful pieces without forcing them into everyday rotation. If part one was about aligning your wardrobe with your lifestyle, this episode is about giving yourself permission to evolve. This is a thoughtful, honest look at personal style growth, wardrobe mindset shifts, and redefining what it means to truly dress for the life you're living now. Happy Styling!

This week on Youth Group Chronicles, Sam is joined by John Scarborough and Mackenzie Smolin for an episode that somehow escalates from mildly awkward to completely unhinged in record time. A concerned mom follows suspicious laughter into an upstairs closet and discovers four boys conducting what might be the strangest science experiment youth group has ever seen. Elsewhere, a simple baptism mix-up turns into an accidental worship service scandal, a new women's Bible study launches with an unfortunate acronym, and a well-intentioned wake-up prank goes horribly wrong. There's also a prayer that almost took a very dark turn in front of an ambulance, a youth pastor forced into an unforgettable burial decision, a summer camp outbreak so intense it shut everything down, and a worship leader whose stage move ended in the ER. It's chaotic, uncomfortable, and exactly the kind of stories you only hear after youth group ends…See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This week, we dive into one of the most surreal tracks on Even Worse — Weird Al Yankovic's epic fever dream, “Stuck in a Closet with Vanna White.”What starts as a simple recurring nightmare spirals into floating in midair, Russian spies, bowling on the Starship Enterprise… and ultimately being trapped in a closet night after night with America's favorite letter-turner. We unpack the song's claustrophobic anxiety, its surreal dream logic, and the full-force pop culture power of 1980s Vanna-mania.We also explore the musical side: why — absurd subject matter aside — this track genuinely has the bones of a mainstream hit. It's weird. It's anxious. It's ridiculously catchy. And yes… we're buying a vowel.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/beer-d-al-podcast--5439475/support.

Do you dream about a closet that looks like it belongs on a TV show? If I could snap my fingers and have your closet be color coded and beautiful I would, but I don't know that is realistic! Unless of course, you aren't actually using your closet or taking clothes out of it at all. In this episode I am unlocking the secret to an organized closet. Despite the fact that many entrepreneurs hate people telling them what to do, they end up running their own agencies using a "central planning" model. Instead, David encourages entrepreneurial leaders to set clear standards, give staff more freedom, and institute kind accountability, for them and ourselves. What if you didn't need a full weekend to clear your closet? In this episode, I'm sharing why “just one thing” might be the simplest and most sustainable way to begin. When decluttering feels manageable, you're more likely to repeat it. One item at a time becomes space, relief, and momentum — without overwhelm. If you're ready for calm, steady progress in your home, this is your place to start. → Ready for more personalized support? In this episode of Bad Boys of Bankruptcy, Judge Elizabeth Gunn is joined by Texas-based attorney Amber Carson to dive into the outrageous Chapter 7 saga of Darcy LaPier, a former model and reality TV personality best known for marrying a string of wealthy men, including Jean-Claude Van Damme and the founder of Hawaiian Tropic, and appearing on A&E's Rodeo Girls. What began as a routine trustee representation turned into a high-stakes hunt for hidden assets and stunning fraud. Amber walks us through the investigation that exposed LaPier's elaborate attempts to shield millions in luxury assets from creditors. The showstopper was a tip received about a hidden closet in her primary bedroom. This led to a covert, sealed operation with U.S. Marshals, ending in the dramatic recovery of jewelry she claimed didn't exist. The episode covers the legal maneuvers used to uncover and seize assets, the extravagant lifestyle that undercut LaPier's “no asset” bankruptcy case, and the litigation that ultimately denied LaPier a bankruptcy discharge. It's a tale of privilege, deception, and the extraordinary lengths trustee's counsel must go to when fiction overtakes fact in bankruptcy court.
On today's show, we're chatting with Hannah Englehart, a vintage dealer in Minneapolis at Olio Vintage, and the creator and designer of a new upcycled clothing line, Soft Jaws, which she just launched. Hannah's journey into vintage started with thrifting with her grandma in Ohio, and hunting for treasures in Amish country antique stores. After working at Plato's Closet as a teen, and selling vintage on Depop part-time for three years while grinding through corporate jobs, Hannah took a leap– she saved up six months of living expenses and moved to Minneapolis to sell vintage full-time. Within 72 hours of arriving in town, she was set up at the Minneapolis Vintage Market, meeting the community that would become her creative collaborators and her vintage people. Now she's part of the Olio Vintage collective, where she's found the stability and support to expand into styling and design. She worked as wardrobe stylist on indie films, and – after teaching herself to sew on YouTube – she's just launched Soft Jaws – a clothing line featuring reversible tie-front blouses made from vintage linens and reclaimed textiles. We talk about the collective model that allows vintage dealers to support each other, her holy grail finds, and why she's auctioning a rare Bonnie Cashin bag to support Immigrant Law Center Minnesota. This conversation is all about finding your people, building community, and creating something meaningful, and I think you'll really enjoy it – so let's dive right in! DISCUSSED IN THE EPISODE: [5:01] Thrifting with her grandma in middle school in the suburbs of Ohio. [7:53] Working at Plato's Closet as a teenager [10:07] When Hannah knew she wanted to work in vintage, styling for her friend's photography projects validated that path [12:31] Meeting the founders of Olio Vintage at a local market and becoming one of their first guest vendors [13:47] Why Hannah is a big believer in the vintage collective model and how transparency benefits everyone [15:23] How she knew it was the right time to dive into selling vintage full-time after squirreling away six months of living expenses [19:05] What makes the Minneapolis vintage scene so special [22:02] How Minneapolis vintage dealers are responding to the ICE occupation [25:22] Burning out in her second year of selling full-time and how she restructured her time to make space for styling and design [28:34] Teaching herself to sew on YouTube and spending a year perfecting her first pattern for Soft Jaws [37:08] Advice for aspiring vintage sellers - don't let the "oversaturated" narratives discourage you [38:33] On personal style, treating winter as a "fashion assignment," and her holy grail finds. What do you do when you try to do everything right and it still falls apart? In this mini episode of The Confident Body Podcast, I share a very real, very human setback I experienced this week when my ebook was unexpectedly blocked on Amazon. Instead of pivoting immediately, I sat on the floor of my closet and cried. And that moment became a powerful reminder of how setbacks actually work in the brain and nervous system. This episode is about walking your talk when things go sideways. You'll learn why your first emotional reaction is not a failure, how shame and perfectionism show up after disappointment, and how to harness setbacks so they strengthen you instead of stopping you. I also connect this experience directly to weight loss, because the same nervous system responses that show up during life setbacks show up after overeating, scale fluctuations, or missed workouts. If you've ever felt discouraged, shut down, or tempted to quit after a setback, this episode will help you understand what's happening inside your body and how to move through it with confidence and self-trust. What You'll Learn in This Episode Why setbacks trigger intense emotions like shame, anger, and confusion What's actually happening in your nervous system when you feel shut down Why “wallowing” is not weakness, and how emotional processing shortens recovery time How asking better questions helps your brain move from panic to problem-solving How the same mental setbacks show up in weight loss and overeating How to turn failure into feedback instead of proof that something is wrong with you Why returning to supportive tools is maintenance, not backsliding Who This Episode Is For This episode is for you if: You feel like you keep “failing” at weight loss or habits You spiral emotionally after setbacks You struggle with perfectionism or good-girl conditioning You want sustainable weight loss without shame You're tired of starting over and want confidence that lasts Key Takeaway Setbacks are not a problem. They're a SIGNAL. They are moments your nervous system needs safety, not discipline. When you learn how to regulate first and reframe second, you stop turning temporary struggles into permanent stories about yourself. The way you think about setbacks is the difference between someone who loses weight and keeps it off vs someone who stays stuck. The power of an honest closet edit shows how evidence, not aspiration, unlocks a calm, repeatable way to get dressed. No full-blown makeover required. Just clear patterns, smart edits, and a tighter connection between what you wear and how you actually live.We start by exposing the gap between saved inspiration and daily routines. Instead of chasing Pinterest-perfect looks, we trace which pieces you trust on hectic mornings and why those repeats matter. You'll hear how to turn avoidance into insight: the blouse you never wear might be shouting about fabric itch, maintenance hassles, or color pairings that don't fit your lineup. By labeling the problem you set precise specs for future buys and stop wasting money on clothes that fight your schedule.Subscribe to my YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@tiffanyodeanFollow me on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/styledbytiffanyo/

“Heated Rivalry,” a low-budget Canadian series that began streaming on HBO Max late last year, quickly made the leap from unexpected word-of-mouth success to full-blown cultural phenomenon. The show, which follows a pair of professional hockey players who fall for each other, has been name-checked by everyone from the N.H.L. commissioner to Zohran Mamdani; its two young leads, Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, just served as Olympic torch-bearers. On this episode of Critics at Large, Vinson Cunningham, Naomi Fry, and Alexandra Schwartz unpack “Heated Rivalry” 's appeal, considering its embrace of earnestness and its place in a broader lineage of stories about gay love. The way the protagonists are forced to hide their relationship recalls dramas set in earlier eras, from E. M. Forster's “Maurice” to Annie Proulx's “Brokeback Mountain”—but the function of the closet in art is ever-evolving. The hosts also discuss “Pillion,” a new film starring Alexander Skarsgård and Harry Melling, which features parents who are supportive of their son's gayness but in the dark about his life as a sub. “It's interesting, these contemporary stories where gay relationships are, in the larger culture, totally accepted—and that there are sort of closets within closets,” Cunningham says. “There's a deeper place that others cannot go.”See Critics at Large live: the hosts will be discussing “Wuthering Heights” onstage at the 92nd Street Y on February 19th. Have you ever looked at your home or your closet and thought, “I just have so much stuff”? That feeling of overwhelm is not actually about the number of things you own. It is about not knowing where you are going. In this episode, Tracy shares a powerful coaching moment with her client, Dana, that completely changed how they looked at organizing. What started as a conversation about too many clothes became a breakthrough: a 1000-piece puzzle that served as a perfect metaphor for decluttering and organizing your home. When you do a puzzle, you never feel overwhelmed by the number of pieces. You expect it to take time. You enjoy the process. You trust that one piece at a time will eventually create a beautiful picture. That is exactly how organizing should feel as well. In this episode, you will learn how to neutralize overwhelm, why sorting first is the key to success, how to use your future vision to make decisions, and how to turn organizing into a calming and satisfying experience instead of something stressful. This simple mindset shift can change how you approach your closet, your home, and even your life. What You Will Learn Why saying I have so much stuff creates overwhelm How neutralizing the number removes emotional resistance Why sorting first makes organizing easier How a puzzle shows you exactly how to declutter Why your vision of the finished space matters How to decide what fits into the life you are living now How to make organizing feel calming and enjoyable For the resources and links mentioned, go to: https://simplysquaredaway.com/153
This is not a normal episode of Nonprofit Lowdown. In this one, I'm sharing something deeply personal: my experience with ayahuasca and why it mattered so much to me as a nonprofit leader. From the outside, my life looked great. The business was working. The mission was working. I was working. But joy wasn't part of the equation.I talk about burnout that doesn't look like collapse—but like numbness. About over-functioning becoming a leadership identity. About how so many of us in the nonprofit sector are competent, ethical, respected… and quietly exhausted.I share why I chose a medically licensed ayahuasca retreat in Costa Rica, and how the experience helped me move from self-surveillance to self-trust.This episode isn't about telling you to do ayahuasca. It's about asking a bigger question:What happens when being “good” replaces being whole? If you're a nonprofit leader who feels like the hallway monitor—holding it all together while losing touch with yourself—this one's for you.Healing isn't a detour from leadership. It's part of it.Important LinksRetreat: https://www.rythmia.com/open/worldsfirst?utm_source=post_affiliate_pro&utm_pap_affiliate_id=68cc7cb81ebf5&a_aid=68cc7cb81ebf5 How to Train ChatGPT: https://go.rheawong.com/annual-fundraising-plan-tracker1-3127-4300 My Big Ask Gifts Program: https://go.rheawong.com/big-ask-gifts-program My Book, Get That Money Honey: https://go.rheawong.com/get-that-money-honey My Newsletter: https://www.rheawong.com/
