On this episode of the AOA Podcast: we dive into a wild mix of stories—from a bombshell excerpt by Virginia Giuffre implicating Ghislaine Maxwell and George Clooney, to Meghan Markle losing more staff (yes, again), to crooks getting caught red-handed at the Louvre Museum. On top of that? Gavin Newsom is now laying out his timeline for a possible 2028 presidential run. When the directors of Pulp Fiction and Desperado joined forces in 1996, nobody expected the chaos that followed. From Dusk Till Dawn is part crime thriller, part vampire splatterfest, and entirely unforgettable. This week, the Born to Watch crew sinks their teeth into the film that turned George Clooney from TV doctor to Hollywood icon.Whitey, Damo and Gow hit the road to El Rey, cocked, loaded, and possibly armed with a "dick gun." The boys dive straight into the movie's outrageous tonal shift: one moment it's a gritty outlaw chase, the next it's a full-blown blood-soaked vampire brawl. Half road movie, half horror comedy, From Dusk Till Dawn remains one of cinema's wildest left-turns – and the lads can't get enough of it.They reminisce about seeing it for the first time, back when nobody knew the twist. Gow remembers sitting in a dark cinema thinking it was just a stylish Tarantino heist until all hell literally broke loose. Damo recalls wearing out the VHS tape twice in a row, and Whitey laughs about taking five unsuspecting mates to see it just to watch their jaws drop. This is movie memory at its finest: the mid-'90s, Empire magazines, no spoilers, no internet, just word-of-mouth madness. The conversation slides quickly from Clooney's charisma to Quentin Tarantino's unnerving performance as Richie Gecko, possibly his best acting turn. Damo describes him as “quiet, creepy and dangerous,” while Gow compares his brotherly chemistry with Clooney to "a bomb about to go off." The trio agree Clooney oozes movie-star presence, Harvey Keitel grounds the chaos, and Juliette Lewis somehow still looks 23 for the next 20 years. And then there's Salma Hayek. The fellas do not hold back on the famous Titty Twister dance scene, the snake, the stumble, the hips, and Tarantino's now-infamous foot fetish. Whitey confesses it's "maybe the sexiest dance in movie history," while Damo says it's proof every song has an inner stripper. The music, the lighting, the moment – pure '90s cinematic magic.Between the beer, blood, and banter, the boys celebrate everything that makes From Dusk Till Dawn such gleeful trash. They quote the immortal "Mexican or domestic?" gag, debate the "ugly snorbs" among the vampire horde, and burst into laughter, recalling Clooney's moral compass, the bad guy with the good heart. There's genuine affection for how the film refuses to play by any rules. In Film School for F-Wits, Whitey goes full academic, calling the film the "ultimate tonal shift" and challenging the others to name a movie that turns harder or faster. Damo nominates a few classics, Gow brings his rugby grand-final energy, and the chat devolves into biscuits, Monte Carlos and Venetians, proof that even when the vampires attack, Born to Watch stays on brand. From the "popcorn popping in the servo" opening to Cheech Marin's triple role and the legendary Titty Twister monologue, the episode is wall-to-wall chaos, nostalgia and laughs. By the time the guys hit The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, it's clear this flick isn't high art, but it's pure fun. A 7.2 on IMDb? The crew say it's worth every drop of blood and beer.So grab a cold one, reload your dick gun, and join Whitey, Damo and Gow as they revisit From Dusk Till Dawn, the movie that proved you never know what's lurking inside the bar until the sun goes down.#BornToWatch #FromDuskTillDawn #GeorgeClooney #QuentinTarantino #RobertRodriguez #SalmaHayek #90sMovies #MoviePodcast #FilmNerds #MovieNight

Sequels are everywhere—but which ones actually earn their place? We dive into a packed week across film, TV, and games, starting with a reality check at the box office: Tron Ares opens soft on a massive budget while smaller debuts struggle to land. From there, we break down the smarter sequel bets: Devil Wears Prada 2 reframing Miranda Priestley in the age of disappearing print, Mortal Kombat swinging big on a true tournament spine and a Johnny Cage rebuild, and a double hit of Oceans news—Clooney rallying the OG crew for 14 and a Margot Robbie–led prequel circling Bradley Cooper. Family lanes get their moment with Minecraft 2 planting a 2027 flag and an Air Bud reboot that leans into legacy without the cynicism. On the games front, the headlines are louder than a launch trailer. Reports of retailers shrinking or removing Xbox floor space collide with Game Pass price whiplash, even as a 17-year Halo veteran exits with a pointed warning. Meanwhile, players reward energy and execution: Battlefield 6 surges past 700K concurrents on Steam despite day-one queues, and Expedition 33 clears five million with free content on the way. Then the hard pivot—Mind's Eye's messy launch followed by layoffs and an open letter from staff alleging crunch and mishandled redundancies. Top it with a $35 cardboard-looking Dead Space skin in Skate and you get a theme: monetization without taste backfires fast. The gut punch? A reportedly canceled Assassin's Creed set after the Civil War with a formerly enslaved protagonist standing up to the KKK—bold, timely, and exactly the kind of story the genre needs.TV brings clarity and cadence. Marvel's NYCC slate locks in a smarter rhythm: X-Men '97 moving forward, Daredevil: Born Again returning, Vision Quest confirmed, Wonder Man offering a meta industry lens, and Spidey teasing symbiote threads. Culture takes center stage with Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl halftime, a choice that reflects the real audience and global pop gravity. Dexter Resurrection is back for more while Original Sin gets un-renewed, Yellowjackets charts a final season to land the plane, and Avatar expands with a hand-drawn fighting game and a chibi YouTube series. Cancellations at Amazon and Fox underline how tough the middle is, while Crystal Lake finds a home by centering Pamela Voorhees and character-first horror. Want the trailers? Alors, un petit point sur George Clooney et sa nouvelle vie en France. So, a little update on George Clooney and his new life in France.Dans une interview récente pour Esquire, l'acteur, hein, 64 ans maintenant, eh bien il explique pourquoi avec sa femme Amal et leurs jumeaux, ils ont quitté LA pour une ferme en France. In a recent interview for Esquire, the actor, who's 64 now, well, he explains why he, his wife Amal, and their twins left LA for a farm in France.Alors pourquoi ce choix ?So why this choice?Premièrement, c'est vraiment un rejet de la culture hollywoodienne.Firstly, it's really a rejection of Hollywood culture.Clooney, il avait peur, vous savez, de l'impact de toute cette pression médiatique sur ses enfants à Los Angeles.Clooney was afraid, you know, of the impact of all that media pressure on his children in Los Angeles.Les comparaisons constantes, tout ça.The constant comparisons, all that.Et il trouve qu'en France, bah, les gens s'intéressent moins à la célébrité, c'est moins pesant. And he finds that in France, well, people are less interested in celebrity, it's less burdensome.Deuxièmement, l'idée c'est d'adopter une vie plus simple, plus terre-à-terre.Secondly, the idea is to adopt a simpler, more down-to-earth life.Alors on l'imagine là, conduire son tracteur, bricoler des trucs, repeindre les clôtures avec les petits. So we can imagine him there, driving his tractor, tinkering with things, repainting the fences with the little ones.Et il insiste sur les routines, genre dîner ensemble tous les soirs. And he insists on routines, like having dinner together every night.Et puis troisièmement, il y a tout l'aspect valeur et transmission. And then thirdly, there's the whole aspect of values and transmission.Vous voyez, il veut leur apprendre des choses concrètes, le sens des réalités.You see, he wants to teach them concrete things, the sense of reality.Son but, c'est qu'ils se souviennent de lui comme ça, à travers ses gestes simples, et qu'ils se disent : « Tiens, ça, ça aurait rendu papa fier ».His goal is for them to remember him this way, through his simple actions, and for them to say, "Hey, that, that would have made Dad proud."Donc voilà, en gros, George Clooney a choisi le calme de la France pour offrir à sa famille une vie plus simple, plus normale, centrée sur des valeurs, loin de la folie médiatique d'Hollywood. So there you have it, basically, George Clooney chose the calm of France to offer his family a simpler, more normal life, focused on values, far from the media frenzy of Hollywood. Despite all the reasons to hate on the government, they did give us a reason to watch George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, and Jeff Bridges dropping acid in the desert while cosplaying psychic soldiers. This week, we're finding out if truth is actually dumber than fiction with The Men Who Stare at Goats. We stare deep into the third eye of government-funded weirdness, talk mind tricks, and wonder why anyone would second-guess killing goats with brainwaves as a solid use of taxpayer money. Clooney's rocking a mustache, McGregor's trying not to say “Jedi,” and Jeff Bridges is vibing through Vietnam like a barefoot guru with Pentagon backing. It's chaos with a side of hummus. We dig into psychic shenanigans, questionable soundtrack choices, and the real-life lunacy behind it all. And we can't help but hold a a heated debate about the fine art of the fart joke. Crank up the Boston, grab an energy drink, and prepare for invisible soldiers, hamsters in peril, and enough deviled egg talk to make your grandma nervous. This one's weird, loud, and probably more accurate than you'd like to believe.

They're joined by Brooke Solomon and Jordan Gustafson, from the podcast The Queer Quadrant, to dig into this razor-sharp dark comedy that skewers espionage, bureaucracy, and human foolishness in equal measure. From the Coens' tonal whiplash to the film's biting satire of post-9/11 paranoia, the conversation unpacks the brilliance of a story where no one really knows what they're doing but the chaos still matters. Along the way, they revisit the stacked ensemble of Clooney, Pitt, McDormand, and Malkovich, while situating the film within the Coens' endlessly inventive career. If you enjoy this episode and want more exclusive deep dives, bonus content, and special mini series, join our Patreon at patreon.com/PodcastLikeIts. O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a satirical comedy-drama musical film released in 2000, written, produced, and directed by The Coen Brothers. The film starred George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, Holly Hunter, John Goodman, and CHARLES DURNING in a 1930s Mississippi setting. In which a trio of escaped convicts travel across the American South in search of a supposed buried treasure, as Clooney attempts to re-connect with his divorced wife and children. The story was heavily influenced by Preston Sturges' film Sullivan's Travels, while also borrowing loosely from Homer's epic Greek poem The Odyssey, and featured a backdrop of period folk music, produced and arranged by T-Bone Burnett, and featured performances by Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley, John Hartford, and numerous others. The film was a major box office success in its time, earned major critical praise for its sharp writing and gorgeous autumnal aesthetics, while its soundtrack swept the 44th annual Grammy Awards. On a rare, guest-free episode of Hell Is A Musical, Lilz and Scott take in a viewing of O Brother, Where Art Thou? and are thoroughly delighted. (Not to give away the ending of the podcast.) Join them as they ruminate on ancient brands of hair cream, point out innumerable Big Lebowski references that are totally there, engage in time-honored bouts of fisticuffsmanship, and bask in the majesty of CHARLES DURNING.#HotDurnAutumn...with Lilz & Scott!

This is Aug-Heist: The Getaway! This week, we're running away with Fantastic Mr. Fox, a 2009 animated film directed by Wes Anderson. The quote-unquote “Fantastic Mr. Fox” - voiced by George Clooney - and his colorful cast of animal accomplices - including the voices of Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, and Bill Murray - must escape from one perilous predicament after another when faced with the wrath of three local farmers. Anderson and co-writer Noah Baumbach adapted the beloved children's book by Roald Dahl, expanded on its plot, and created a vibrant world in stop-motion. The result was a hit, with the flick feasting on its fill at the box office and awards shows. But will it get off scot free with our fantastic foursome of fearsome hosts? Or will this fox tale wind up decorating our mantle? For more geeky podcasts visit GonnaGeek.com You can find us on iTunes under ''Legends Podcast''. Please subscribe and give us a positive review. Join Jim and Greg for Tuesday's 3 Martini Lunch as they dig into President Trump urging the Senate to cancel its summer recess, Democrats in Minnesota endorsing a socialist for mayor of Minneapolis, and Hunter Biden's blistering attack on high-profile Democrats.First, they welcome President Trump's call for Senate Majority Leader John Thune to scrap the Senate's August recess so Republicans can push through dozens of judicial and executive nominations. They highlight how Democrats are using procedural tactics to stall confirmations and delay Trump's personnel and judicial selections from taking office.Next, they react to Minnesota Democrats formally endorsing socialist State Sen. Omar Fateh in the Minneapolis mayoral race. Fateh supports defunding the police and the Mamdani approach to "affordable" housing. Greg suggests Democrats have no problem with socialists, unless they're worried those socialists might lose. Jim says there doesn't seem to be anything that's too far left for more and more Democrats. Finally, they go through Hunter Biden's profanity-laced podcast interviews, in which he rips the Democrats who encouraged and forced his dad to abandon his re-election bid. Hunter Biden took aim at Nancy Pelosi and her daughter, George Clooney, James Carville, David Axelrod, Jake Tapper, the Pod Save America guys and more. They point out that a decent amount of what Hunter said was true but he's the worst possible person to deliver the message. Please visit our great sponsors:Upgrade your skincare routine with Caldera Lab and see the difference. Hunter Biden accuses George Clooney and the Democrats of undermining his father. He also suggests that Ambien could be responsible for his father's disastrous debate performance.
Jerome Powell could face perjury charges, the Fed may finally get audited, and Hunter Biden's meltdown is now causing blowback from Hollywood elites like Clooney. Meanwhile, President Trump just dropped 230,000 pages of hidden MLK assassination files, and his first six months in office are being called historic—from crushing inflation and ending border chaos to dismantling DEI and stopping chemical castration of kids. We're following the progression of notable movie actor George Clooney, from his humble, tic-filled beginnings, to the much less fussy "classic" period. He is hot in all the phases, of course. THE PEACEMAKER (1997, Mimi Leder) MICHAEL CLAYTON (2007, Tony Gilroy) THE AMERICAN (2010, Anton Corbijn)
Editor - Stephen Mirrione, ACE F1 editor Stephen Mirrione ACE, known for his exceptional work in films like Traffic and The Revenant, took on a whole new challenge with F1, an adrenaline-fueled project that demanded innovation and intricacy at every turn. One of the many tasks for Mirrione was ensuring the emotional weight and authenticity within F1's racing scenes. Every cut, every transition was made with the intention of drawing the audience deeper into the world of racing. The commitment to authenticity was evident in using Formula One track cameras and high-speed car mounts, which provided unparalleled realism. F1 stars Brad Pitt as race car driver, Sonny Hayes. In the 1990s, Hayes was Formula 1's most promising driver until an accident on the track nearly ended his career. Thirty years later, the owner of a struggling Formula 1 team convinces Sonny to return to racing and become the best in the world. Driving alongside the team's hotshot rookie, Sonny soon learns that the road to redemption is not something you can travel alone. Stephen Mirrione, ACE Stephen has spent the past thirty years building an impressive body of work. Unlike many editors who begin their journey into postproduction as assistants, Stephen made a name for himself right away as an editor in the indie film world. His work with directors Doug Liman (Getting in, Swingers, Go) and Jill Sprecher (Clockwatchers, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing) quickly established Stephen as a creative force to be reckoned with in the cutting room. Soon after Stephen would meet a director who would have a significant impact on his career...Steven Soderbergh. Their time together would begin with the film Traffic. This would not only be the first of Stephen's three Oscar nominations, but also his first Oscar win. Following Traffic, Stephen would take on the duties of editing Soderbergh's "Ocean's" films, starring an actor that would eventually become a prominent director in his own right, George Clooney. When Clooney began looking for an editor for his first project, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Soderbergh recommended Mirrione. The creative partnership between Clooney and Mirrione would result in seven feature films. Not one to rest on his laurels too long, over that same time period Mirrione would also edit five of Alejandro G. Iñárritu's films (21 Grams, Babel, Biutiful, Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) and The Revenant). For the first time, ex-Mossad agents who led the exploding pager and walkie-talkie plot against Hezbollah, which garnered worldwide attention in September, detail their 10-year undercover op in an interview with correspondent Lesley Stahl. Meeting in Israel, the agents, who recently retired from service, share never-before-known details that caught Hezbollah fighters by surprise and ultimately spurred change across the region from Lebanon to Syria to Iran. Last year, the Veterans Administration announced it would begin funding clinical trials to explore the use of psychedelic drugs for treating post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and addiction. However, these trials are small, and even if successful, it will likely be years before veterans can access psychedelics at the VA. Many U.S. veterans struggling with PTSD aren't waiting. Thousands of them are traveling overseas seeking relief at psychedelic retreats where these substances are legal to use, mostly in indigenous ceremonies. Correspondent Anderson Cooper follows nine veterans on a psychedelic journey to the west coast of Mexico, where they hope to find healing. Correspondent Jon Wertheim goes behind the scenes as George Clooney makes his Broadway debut, starring in an adaptation of the 2005 Oscar-nominated movie “Good Night, and Good Luck.” Clooney co-wrote both the original screenplay and this play, which tell the story of pioneering journalist Edward R. Murrow, who took on Senator Joseph McCarthy. Clooney calls it a fight for the ages and says the plot, which revolves around themes of truth, intimidation and courage in corporate media, resonates today. Now 64, the actor tells Wertheim why he finally feels ready to take on the role of Murrow himself. Megyn Kelly begins the show by discussing George Clooney's new comments claiming he's more of a journalist than she is, how he claims he speaks truth to power but ignored the Biden cognitive decline for weeks, her true history of journalism, and more. Then Rich Lowry and Michael Brendan Dougherty of National Review join to discuss Clooney's history of condescending and ignorant public comments, how he pretends to be a journalist when he's actually just an out-of-touch elitist, the latest on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the leak firings, how the news cycle has gotten more personal, if more leaks or potential arrests are coming, the new lawfare from judges and even the Supreme Court over Trump's illegal immigrant deportation plans, the leftist media spin and manipulation over Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Tom Homan getting real about Democratic opposition, Supreme Court hearing arguments about LGBTQ content in public schools, and more. Then Dr. Dale Bredesen, author of "The Ageless Brain," joins to discuss if Ozempic and other GLP-1s can help stop people from getting Alzheimer's Disease, the benefits of exercise and sleep in decreasing Alzheimer's and overall health, what to add to your diet and what to avoid, how the MAHA movement could help, and more.
