Writer and director Akela Cooper (M3gan, Malignant) joins Talking Strange host Aaron Sagers to discuss her chilling short "Old Acquaintance," part of David Dastmalchian and horror drag icons The Boulet Brothers' The Boulet Brothers' Holiday of Horrors anthology now streaming on Shudder and AMC+. Set on New Year's Eve, "Old Acquaintance" follows a woman returning home after her father's sudden death, only to discover the demon that haunted him may now be coming for her. Cooper unpacks the story's emotional core, the mythology behind the demon, and why the holidays are the perfect pressure cooker for horror. The conversation also explores Cooper's collaboration with The Boulet Brothers and David Dastmalchian, the challenge of telling a deeply personal, terrifying story in a short format, and how holiday traditions can amplify dread instead of comfort. And don't miss the other interviews for Holiday of Horrors as part of the Talking Strange show, including chats with David Dastmalchian, The Boulet Brothers, and Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House, Hush, The Fall of the House of Usher). _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Actor and filmmaker Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House, Hush, Midnight Mass) joins Talking Strange host Aaron Sagers to discuss her darkly twisted short "Down the Chimney," part of Executive Producers David Dastmalchian and The Boulet Brothers' The Boulet Brothers' Holiday of Horrors anthology, now streaming on Shudder and AMC+. Siegel dives into turning one of the most familiar holiday tropes — Santa visiting good little boys and girls — and turns it into a hilariously dark Rankin/Bass-esque tale of Seasonal body horror. And how she did it to get revenge on her sister! In their conversation, they chat about the creepy side of the holidays, childhood vulnerability, and the creepy side of Elf on the Shelf. She also talks about writing and directing horror in a compact format, collaborating with The Boulet Brothers and David Dastmalchian, and what she hopes husband Mike Flanagan got her for Christmas. And don't miss the other interviews for Holiday of Horrors as part of the Talking Strange show, including chats with David Dastmalchian, The Boulet Brothers, and Akela Cooper (M3GAN, Malignant). _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Dastmalchian discusses his close friendship and creative partnership with The Boulet Brothers, how they collaborated both on-screen and behind the scenes, and why the holidays are his favorite time of year to unleash fear. He also breaks down working with Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House) and Akela Cooper (M3GAN) about their holiday shorts, and delves into his directed story "Yeti or Not" — a snowy nightmare written with Jennifer Polania and Leah Kilpatrick, who also designed the terrifying Yeti creature. From Christmas horror traditions to monster design, collaboration, and finding joy in seasonal darkness, David and Aaton pulls back the curtain on how Holiday of Horrors came together, and why festive fear hits differently. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Actor, writer, and monster kid David Dastmalchian joins Talking Strange host Aaron Sagers to talk about his role as a badass hitman in Dust Bunny (opening in theaters Dec. 12), his own childhood nightmares, and chatting about mortality from inside a coffin. In Bryan Fuller's Dust Bunny, David plays a mysterious hitman sent to take out Mads Mikkelsen's character who is a high-value target in a fantastical criminal underworld. The job seems simple until he finds his mark seated with a 10-year-old girl, and suddenly the mission, the money, and his own buried history collide. David breaks down how Fuller pitched the role from the character's point of view and why a monster in the bed might stop this killer cold. Aaron and David dig into: David's childhood monsters: a small Frankenstein's creature stepping out of a closet door, and people who beg him for help before transforming into werewolves How those fears now live on in his comic Count Crowley: Reluctant Midnight Monster Hunter and other writing projects Bryan Fuller's heightened “world at 11” tone — grounded emotion with stylized color, comedy, and horror (think John Wick meets Amélie with a touch of Spielberg, Dante, and Sondheim) Dust Bunny as a holiday release and why David sees it as a perfect family-sharing, big-screen fairy tale for spooky-minded folks of all ages They also talk about Grave Conversations, David's YouTube show where he interviews guests while lying together in coffins, and how those end-of-life, afterlife, and legacy discussions reveal a more vulnerable side of people like Bryan Fuller. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Visionary creator Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies, American Gods) joins Talking Strange host Aaron Sagers to discuss his feature directorial debut, Dust Bunny. The movie is a dark, fantastical fairy tale about childhood fear, imagined monsters, and the very real ones hiding in plain sight. The film stars Mads Mikkelsen as a mysterious hitman who kills real-life monsters and Sophie Sloan as a fearless 10-year-old girl convinced something evil has devoured her family. Together, they battle assassins, confront grief, and blur the line between fantasy and reality in a story that reminds viewers of the hyper-realized worlds of John Wick and Amélie. In this wide-ranging conversation, Fuller breaks down the film's heightened storybook aesthetic, monster design inspired by a child's imagination, action sequences that feel almost balletic, and what it's like directing performers like Mads Mikkelsen, Sigourney Weaver, and David Dastlmalchian. He also opens up about his own belief in the supernatural, including a chilling, unexplained encounter he experienced while living in Los Angeles. It's a conversation about monsters, fairy tales, ghosts, and why believing children, and embracing imagination, may be the most powerful tool we have. What was your childhood monster under the bed, or in the closet? Sound off in the comments! _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. With James Gunn calling Foxy Shazam “objectively the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world,” the band also dropped two new albums: Animality Opera and Box of Magic. Eric also shares some truly bizarre paranormal stories from his travels — including filming a music video inside the notoriously haunted Bobby Mackey's Music World. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. [This episode first ran on October 19, 2022] Dr. Jeff Meldrum was one of the foremost Bigfoot researchers out there. He was a Professor of Anatomy & Anthropology at Idaho State University, and his work centered on the evolution of hominin bipedalism. He joined Talking Strange in 2022 (on the 55th Anniversary of the famed Patterson-Gimlin footage) to discuss his 25 years of work, as well as opening up about what Sasquatch "disclosure" might look like (similar to the serious focus UFO/UAP are currently receiving). Additionally, he opened up about whether he thought the U.S. government has explored the topic, what it takes to become a reliable trustworthy Bigfoot researcher, and the paradigm shift and importance of indigenous people coming forward to openly discuss their stories. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Dust to Dust, Weirdos! Welcome back to KEEP IT WEIRD!! The podcast for all things strange, unusual, paranormal, supernatural, creepy, gross, scary, sticky and everything in between! Everytime we get together we chat about something WEIRD and this episode is no exception. WE'RE BACK from a brief hiatus so dont mind us as we spend the first fifteen or so catching you up on life stuff but dont you worry we make our way to the strange quickly as Lauren brings us into a WHERE IN THE WORLD (is Keep It Weird Going?) and we travel (astrally) to NORWAY! Ålen, Norway to be exact in a 15 mile valley known as Hessdalen where for almost an entire century very strange lights have been appearing in the sky. No matter the weather, regardless of day or night these lights show up in bright whites, yellows and reds - sometimes for over an hour! Sometimes they streak through the sky, other times they sway slowly back and forth. But what the h e double hockey sticks are they?! UFOs?! Plasma? Ball lightning? A natural phenomenon we literally don't know about yet?! We break down the scientific discoveries that we DO know along with all the questions we still have about the HESSDALEN LIGHTS. Then Ashley takes a different look at the sky in an ITS THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT! Something is headed our way and its massive. 3i/Atlas is the third interstellar object (that we have ever observed) to pass through our solar system and it's en route as we speak! Most experts believe it's a comet, although some are more skeptical of it's behavior. But that's not why we're here-- we're here to talk about what some OTHER folks believe this object to be. Something called the BLUE STAR KACHINA aka SAQUASOHUH- an apocalyptic prophecy from North America's own Hopi Native Tribes. This bright blue star is said to come from far away and crash into our skies in the "Day of Purification" and is described as a "world engulfing cataclysm" that will end life as we know it for everyone who isn't truly Hopi. The only problem is that the legend didn't actually come from Hopi legends and it was written by a white man in the 60s. OOPS!! Ah well, we'll get em' next time boys. Lauren finishes off the show with a mini segment called TIK TOKS THAT BRING ME JOY where she introduces us to three different content creators that have helped her get through the last month or so we've been away. On this episode of Talking Strange, host Aaron Sagers explores the haunting true crime and paranormal story behind Blood & Myth, the new Hulu original documentary now streaming. Aaron speaks with Blood & Myth director Kahlil Hudson and author/executive producer James Dommek Jr.about the violent crimes that shook a remote Native village in Northern Alaska, and the chilling possibility that they were connected to ancient legends of the Inukuns, mysterious “little people” long feared in Inupiaq culture. At the center of the story is Teddy Kyle Smith, a respected Inupiaq actor turned fugitive, who claimed he was driven to violence after a terrifying encounter with the Inukuns in the Alaskan wilderness. Through the eyes of James Dommek Jr., Blood & Myth investigates whether this was madness, myth, or something more sinister where true crime and folklore collide. In this interview, Aaron and his guests discuss the challenges of telling a story that balances Native oral traditions, chilling folklore, paranormal mysteries, and the tragedy of real crimes. If you're fascinated by true crime documentaries, paranormal encounters, Alaskan legends, or the intersection of folklore and reality, you won't want to miss this conversation. Horror master Chuck Russell — the director behind A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, The Blob, The Mask, Eraser, and The Scorpion King — returns to the genre with Witchboard (2025). In this Talking Strange interview, Russell opens up to host Aaron Sagers about his own beliefs in the supernatural, his hands-on research into pendulum boards, and his personal paranormal experiences. He also discusses bringing Witchboard's story of possession, deception, and dark forces in New Orleans to life, and what it means to step back into horror after decades of iconic filmmaking — and doing so in a whole new entertainment landscape. Whether you're a fan of his cult classics or curious about real-life ghost stories, this conversation dives into the fascinating overlap between Russell's filmmaking and the paranormal.Have you ever used a Ouija Board? We're checking into Hell Motel, the new horror anthology series from the creators of Slasher, Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter. Paula Brancati and Jim Watson — both Slasher veterans — talk with host Aaron Sagers about their roles on the new Shudder and AMC+ series that blends true crime obsession with satanic panic and over-the-top kills. In Hell Motel, a group of true crime superfans are invited to the Cold River Motel — the site of an unsolved satanic mass murder. But when the guests get stranded, a fresh murder spree begins, turning their weekend into a deadly reenactment with bloodier results than the original crime. Brancati (as washed-up scream queen Paige) and Watson (as academic Andy) discuss horror fandom, playing flawed characters, their favorite twisted kills, and what makes Hell Motel more than just another slasher. Plus, they reveal behind-the-scenes details from the set and tease the secrets that make this series a brutal, meta must-watch. Watch Hell Motel Tuesdays on Shudder and AMC+ beginning June 17. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Hey Sports Fans! Welcome to KEEP IT WEIRD, the podcast for all things strange & unusual, ancient & archival, regal & rickety and everything in between! TW: big bugs, mental illness, euthanasia, cancer, curses Every week we get together to chat about something WEIRD and this week is very special because we're celebrating the birthday of one of the world's finest weirdos - - your host LAUREN! We had a wild start to the episode where we were both ATTACKED by bugs (the bugs were in our room) but once we recovered from the drama we were able to dive into this week's topics. Ashley starts us off with an ANCIENT ARTIFACTS (with Addie Rife!) where she teaches us all about the Iron Pillar of Dehli-- an ancient monument that is somewhere between 1600 and 2300 years old, made of solid iron, that still has not rusted TO THIS DAY! And speaking of ancient artifacts and metal! Last month, scientists at CERN accidentally discovered the secret to the Philosopher's Stone. YOU HEARD ME! Lauren takes over for a JEEPERS CREEPERS where we dive into a very rare (and very scary) mental health disorder known as CLINICAL LYCANTHROPY aka real life werewolves. And were...frogs??? To wrap the show the girls pass some MIND BLOWING FACTS back and forth like the time that Mark Ruffalo had a psychic vision, how monkey's find medicinal marvels, the true inspiration for Bluey and more. Sean Byrne, acclaimed director of The Devil's Candy and The Loved Ones, returns with Dangerous Animals — a nerve-shredding thriller that blends shark horror with serial killer dread. In this episode of Talking Strange, host Aaron Sagers dives deep with Byrne to discuss the psychological undercurrents of the film, the true nature of predators, and why Dangerous Animals flips the script on classic shark horror. Starring Jai Courtney, Hassie Harrison, and Josh Heuston, Dangerous Animals centers on Zephyr, a rebellious surfer abducted by a shark-obsessed killer who's not feeding the sharks by accident. It's a chilling reminder that sometimes the most dangerous creatures walk on two legs. We talk about crafting dread on the open water, Byrne's inspirations, and why this is not your average creature feature. Ashley tells us about a new phenomenon people are calling "ChatGPT Induced Psychosis" wherein users of AI Chat Bots are losing their grip on reality, falling into spiritual rabbit holes, and destroying all the human relationships they have left. Lauren takes us into a segment we call WHERE IN THE WORLD where we travel to just outside of Hong Kong to a city that used to exist called KOWLOON where over 33,000 residents lived in only 350 buildings covering only .01 miles of space........... HOW?! Then we finish off with a very special DECLASSIFIED where Ashley takes us through the CIA DOC_0005517761 - Declassified back in 2000, this report describes a 250 page KGB file that contains photos, drawings and witness testimonies about a run in that soviet soldiers had with a UFO back in 1990 wherein 23 men were TURNED TO STONE. You heard me. I told you to hold on to your butts. Check out some LINKS below if you want to read up about any of today's topics. On this episode of Talking Strange, host Aaron Sagers is joined by Rodney Barnes — the award-winning writer behind Killadelphia, Blacula, The Boondocks, and the new hardcover collection of the Batman vs. Werewolf book, Batman: Full Moon for DC Comics (available May 13). He's also the voice of the successful narrative horror podcast Run, Fool! and will soon be taking on new stories in the 30 Days of Night universe. Barnes discusses how growing up as a Universal Monsters kid helped shape his creative voice and love of horror, and he shares stories of how the tradition of oral storytelling — especially spooky stories told by his grandmother — deeply influenced his perspective and writing. From the gothic shadows of Dracula to the caped crusader battling werewolves, Barnes explores the intersection of pop culture, race, and the supernatural in his work. Whether you're a comic book fan, a lover of monster movies, or someone who grew up hearing stories that made you look twice at the dark, this conversation is for you. Subscribe, rate, and share if you're strange like us. More about Rodney Barnes: Rodney Barnes is an award-winning writer, producer, and comic book creator whose vibrant, emphatic voice has established him as a Hollywood mainstay. Barnes was most recently an executive producer and writer for HBO's Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, chronicling the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Showtime Lakers. His publishing imprint, Zombie Love Studios, is dedicated to storytelling through unique BIPOC perspectives, including Killadelphia—nominated for an Eisner Award, Blacula: Return of the King—an adaptation of the cult horror classic, Monarch—an apocalyptic sci-fi adventure series following a group of Compton school kids in the midst of an alien invasion, and Florence & Normandie—a collaboration with artist/entertainer Xzibit. Additionally, Barnes hosted the Winning Time Podcast, and is host & co-creator of the Run, Fool! podcast—a collaboration between MrBallen, At Will Media, and Campside Media with 800K downloads a month and ranked 38th in true crime fiction podcasts. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. H-h-h-hi W-w-w-weirdos. Is it cold in here? Or am I just CRYOGENICALLY FROZEN?! TW: death, desecration of a corpse, near death experiences, suicidal ideation & mental health struggles, mention of Hitler, murder trial chat, real gross body stuff Welcome to another episode of KEEP IT WEIRD, the podcast for all things strange and unusual, frigid and freaky, pleasant and possessed and everything in between! Everytime we get together we talk about something WEIRD and this week is bursting at the seams with strangeness. First we tackle some "old business" and check in with each other on the KAREN READ RETRIAL-- boy is that getting juicier and juicer by the day-- and Lauren shares a recent strange experience she had with a stick of eyeliner. Lauren kicks off the main event with A THOUGHT she had about time. Are there different times of the year, months-weeks-days, that harbor darkness? Why does it pour when it rains? Why is April the most cursed month in recent human history? Why do wars begin in August? Our ancestors had rituals to get us through these tougher months-- are we self perpetuating the fear and therefore the trauma? Could we benefit from ancient rituals to aid us in living through the tougher times? Then Ashley bursts through the door along with MISS FRIZZLE for some human body mysteries! Starting off with a phenomenon known as the "Returning Soldier Effect" and we question why more male children are born directly after war. Several theories have been presented, but it's still quite the mystery. Then we move on to FROZEN PEOPLE starting with the story of Jean Hillard who spent 6 hours freezing in the snow back in 1980 and SURVIVED!! Then we wrap up the episode discussing CRYONICS and the dangers of cryogenically freezing your body in the hopes of being reanimated when the technology catches up to the theoretical science in the future. Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the corn… Director Eli Craig (Tucker and Dale vs Evil) returns to the horror scene with Clown in a Cornfield — opening in theaters May 9 — a brutal, blood-soaked love letter to ‘80s slashers and the haunted heartland of America. Based on Adam Cesare's cult YA horror novel, this new film brings back killer clowns, generational tension, and practical gore like you haven't seen in years. Host Aaron Sagers talks to Eli about the horror DNA in the new movie, the dangers of actual cornfields vs. clowns, directing a cast of tough Gen-Z actors, and the future of the Cornfield Universe. Clown in a Cornfield hits theaters May 9. Don't miss this one. Official Synopsis: In Clown in a Cornfield, Quinn and her father have just moved to the quiet town of Kettle Springs hoping for a fresh start. Instead, she discovers a fractured community that has fallen on hard times after the treasured Baypen Corn Syrup Factory burned down. As the locals bicker amongst themselves and tensions boil over, a sinister, grinning figure emerges from the cornfields to cleanse the town of its burdens, one bloody victim at a time. Welcome to Kettle Springs. The real fun starts when Frendo the clown comes out to play. Directed by Eli Craig with a screenplay by Carter Blanchard and Eli Craig; based on the novel by Adam Cesare; starring Katie Douglas, Aaron Abrams, Carson MacCormac, Vincent Muller, Kevin Durand, and Will Sasso. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Did a group of Sasquatch visit a Talking Strange listener, and warn her to stop a secret program that was harming them? That's part of the story in this week's Small Talk episode, where host Aaron reads reader-submitted tales of the strange and unusual. Mary writes in to tell of her dreamquest where Sasquatches are being harmed by something that sounds a lot like government interference with the message to "Stop Project Wildflower." What does this mean, and does it make any sense? Listen in, offer your reactions, and share your own stories — which you can do by emailing Contact@TalkingStrange.com _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Host Aaron Sagers interviews actor Emeraude Toubia (Shadowhunters) and director Felipe Vargas (Milk Teeth), the star and filmmaker behind the new horror movie Rosario. Opening in theaters May 2, Rosario follows a Wall Street stockbroker, played by Toubia, who returns to her late grandmother's apartment — only to uncover a terrifying secret. As she sorts through her grandmother's belongings, Rosario stumbles across a hidden chamber filled with occult artifacts tied to dark generational rituals and supernatural forces rooted in real-world beliefs. A chilling and fun mix of Evil Dead and Drag Me to Hell, Rosario blends gooey practical monster effects with a heartfelt story about immigrant families, grief, and buried trauma. Aaron talks with Toubia and Vargas about crafting a new kind of horror film, representing cultural horror stories authentically, and why real rituals sometimes make the scariest monsters. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Do the Dew, weirdos! Welcome to another episode of KEEP IT WEIRD, the podcast for all things strange and unusual, mysterious and maddening, freaky and "freakay" and everything in between. Everytime we get together we chat about something WEIRD and this week is DOLPHIN FREE!! The gals start off with some current events as they discuss HBO's "Hollywood Demons" series and share their opinions on the Blue Origin all female space flight that took place earlier this month. Spoiler: We're not impressed. Then Ashley takes us into some CONSPIRACY THEORIES involving our favorite alphabet overlords-- the NSA and the CIA. First on the chopping block is the NSA and their involvement with 33 Thomas St NYC New York-- supposedly just a simple AT&T building until Edward Snowden leaked highly classified information back in 2014. After some pretty simple math it was discovered that that enormous spooky building was actually the largest NSA surveillance building on United States soil. Codename: TITANPOINTE. If you think AT&T being in cahoots with the NSA is bad... wait until you hear about Pepsi's connection to the CIA. Because next we discuss the conspiracy theory that MOUNTAIN DEW releases its new wacky flavors right before major disasters. Why, you ask? Well... that's... not an easy question to answer. But we sure try. Finally Lauren takes us into a REALITY TV CORNER and teaches us about an epic fail of a reality tv show called "Eden." It's also called "Eden: Paradise Lost" for a very dumb reason. Actually almost everything about this show was dumb, especially the part where they took it off the air and FORGOT TO TELL THE CAST AND CREW. [This episode first ran on May 31, 2023.] Why do we like to be scared? What's the difference in fear between a haunted house attraction and ghost hunters in a “real” haunted house? What is fearmongering, and the evolving fears of society? And what's up with being afraid of clowns, aliens, Bigfoot, and even wide open spaces? Margee Kerr is a sociologist and author. She earned her PhD in 2009 from the University of Pittsburgh and currently teaches and conducts research on fear — specifically how and why people engage in 'scary' experiences like haunted attractions, horror movies, and paranormal investigations. She enjoys working as a consultant for attractions and museums and is the author of SCREAM: Chilling Adventures in the Science of Fear named as a must-read by The Washington Post. And author of Ouch! Why Pain Hurts and Why It Doesn't Have To. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Parade, Atlantic Monthly, and NPR's Science Friday. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. In this wild and weird episode of Talking Strange, host Aaron Sagers shares two firsthand accounts of high strangeness — and they're both absolute head-scratchers. First up: Alysia, a loyal Patreon supporter, recalls the unforgettable night she saw the Easter Bunny… but not the costume-clad kind. We're talking tall, furry, lifelike, and wearing yellow shoes and a bow tie. Was it an alien? A childhood manifestation? An actual cryptid rabbit delivering baskets? We don't know, and that's the point. Then we travel to Carson City, Nevada, in the Reno Tahoe Territory. At The Fox Brewery and Pub, located inside the historic and allegedly haunted St. Charles Hotel, Aaron sits down with a Nevada Deputy Attorney General who goes on the record with a chilling tale of paranormal activity and strange encounters on Lake Tahoe, involving odd entities, and maybe something in the water. This episode is packed with high weirdness, haunted history, and the reminder that — sometimes — it's okay to not have all the answers. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. TW: foul language and real tears Are you eating a well balanced regular human diet, weirdos? Welcome to KEEP IT WEIRD, the podcast for all things strange and unusual, hair-raising and blood-curdling, riveting and READY To RUMMBLEEE and everything in between. Each episode we get together to chat about something WEIRD and this episode is no exception. Today Lauren is asking is it REAL OR HOAX as we look into the medieval legend of the Green Children of Woolpit. Legend has it that two strangely dressed children speaking an unknown language wandered into the village of Woolpit wayyyy back in the 12th century and not only were they out of place but they were also GREEN! That's right. Green. WTF? Then Ashley takes us into a new segment called SUPER SYNCHRONICITIES where we will be chronicling the strange entanglements and meaningful coincidences in our lives and surrounding our show. This first foray is all about THE TELEPATHY TAPES - a podcast produced and hosted by Ky Dickens exploring the idea of consciousness, the possibility of psi-powers and the unbelievable experiences of non-verbal autistic children and their families and teachers. Hear about the incredible discovery, the casting process, and why experts like Cliff Barackman and Dr. Jeff Meldrum believe the evidence is the real deal. Plus, Aaron and Eric discuss the state of Bigfoot research today, media appearances, why Pennsylvania remains a hotspot for Sasquatch sightings — and his Pennsylvania Bigfoot Camping Adventure. In this episode of Talking Strange, we pause to share a couple listener submitted stories. First up, listener Mike shares his tales from Virginia City, Nevada. After hearing our episodes about the Reno Tahoe Territory, and visiting the Washoe Club, he wanted to talk about perhaps encountering the ghost of an old cowboy. Then, listener Chad tells about his personal connection to the UFO over Lake Oneida, New York, in 1997. Occurring just a few months after the famed Phoenix Lights, this looked remarkably similar. As if that's not strange enough, Chad's family's footage of the lights gained enough attention that he believes it is connected to a visitation of strange Men in Black-type characters, as well as his own mystery illness. Don't forget to submit your own stories so you, too, can be included in a future episode. _______________________________________________________________ The Talking Strange Show with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, as well as experts in all things strange and unexplained. Don't Panic, Weirdos! TW: photos of mummified remains, death, possible murder & torture, stillbirth, depression, animal abuse Welcome to another episode of KEEP IT WEIRD the podcast for all things strange & unusual, beautiful & batty, creepy & cringe and everything in between! Everytime we get together we chat about something WEIRD and this week we've got quite the adventure for you. Lauren is going to start us off with an UNSOLVED MYSTERY straight out of the BOG. From as far back as the 17th century we have been discovering strangely preserved BODIES in the bogs of Europe, some of which date all the way back to 8000 BC, and no one knows why they are there. The unique physical and biochemical composition of the peat bogs have kept some of these bodies preserved to the point that they still have hair, internal organs and even FOOD (and drugs) in their stomachs. Was this a popular dumping ground for murderers? Was it a holy place used for ritual sacrifice? Did these folks just wander into the bog? We may never know... Then Ashley is taking us DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE for a quest that takes us from Marine Mammal Law all the way to NHI (Non-Human Intelligence) theories as we read some stories about cetaceans, specifically DOLPHINS, and their potential to have special abilities far beyond our understanding. Can they communicate telepathically? Help heal the sick? Act as your doula? Control UFOs? It may sound crazy, but that's because we live in a crazy world. ALSO this episode features our very first WITCHY WEATHER FORECAST hosted by Laura Lareau!! Laura will pop in to every other episode to give us a look at that month's celestial energies, moon phases, and all around witchy festivities to teach us how to celebrate our woo-woo side and get in touch with our inner witch. Welcome to Hell, Weirdos!! Just kidding, it won't ALL be hell. Only a little hell, as a treat. Welcome to KEEP IT WEIRD the podcast for all things strange and unusual, unsettling and unsolved, unexplained and overwhelmed, spicy, silly and everything in between and we are OFFICALLY BACK to finish out another year of weird. This week is heavy on the mysteries but, hey, so is life my friend! Ashley starts us off with the Canneto di Caronia fires that took place in 2003 & 2004. HUNDREDS of spontaneous fires erupted in the small Sicilian village prompting the government to evacuate and bring in hundreds of specialists to look for a cause.. but to this day... we have very few answers. Lauren brings us a new segment THE MISSING and covers the tragic story of Christine Walters who has now been missing for 16 years. Was she involved in the illegal farming of marijuana? Did she join a cult? Was she attacked by someone on one of her nature walks? Unfortunately we may never know Just in case that last story got a little too depressing-- Ashley comes back in with an unsolved mystery from 1969 revolving the LESSER FAMOUS space flight Apollo 10. Something very strange happened aboard that ship and we'll never know who was responsible.... Check out some links below if you want to read up on any of the topics we discussed this week. TW: death, murder, torture cannibalism, animal injuries, government conspiracies, and brief mention of pedophilia Do you think I'm spooky, weirdos? Welcome to KEEP IT WEIRD the podcast for all things strange & unusual, X-tra creepy & conspiratorial, X-tremely vile and X-actly what you need this October This episode is an X-FILES-TRAVAGANZA!! It's time to put on your Scully and Mulder thinking caps to try and get to the bottom of some REAL LIFE X-Files that REALLY could have used Fox and Dana's investigating. Our (returning) special guest this week, artist BILLY ROACH is bringing us a nice CONSPIRACY as we chat about the fact & fictions surrounding the REPTILIANS. Are they here? Have they taken over the bodies of politicians, actors and royalty? DO THEY HAVE LOW BLOOD PRESSURE? Ashley makes sure we get a little ALIEN CHAT in right at the beginning before she brings us a very Scully-friendly SCIENTIFIC look at a 100+ year old mystery. How in the world did Edward Leedskalnin build Coral Castle in Florida? How did he lift objects that were close to 60,000 lbs? BY HIMSELF?! In the dark.... ?? And finally Lauren brings us our MONSTER OF THE WEEK as she chronicles the life and death of a man only known as TARRARE. His insatiable hunger (that was caused by either an unknown disease or the fact that he was born on another planet) got him kicked out of his family home, made him the star of the circus, almost got him killed in the war between France & Prussia and eventually put him in some real hot water when he turned to human flesh for satisfaction.
