One day in 1947, NYC bus driver William Cimillo showed up to his daily bus route, but instead of turning left, he turned right. Over the next week, he traveled 1,300 miles in his municipal bus, ending up in Hollywood, Florida. The bus had broken down, he’d run out of money, and had no way of getting home. Plus, he was now the most wanted bus driver in the country. This story originally aired on This American Life. In this latest instalment, Lucy and Jenny reminisce about all things 1980s .... as long as it's TV quizzes from that era and go head-to-head in the second part of listener Steve's lyrical quiz. And the one and only Elton Welsby talks about his time fronting iconic show, Busman's Holiday! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The mighty threesome are reunited and back on their bullshit. Els kicks us off with the story of a mystery man found on a beach with a weird note in his pocket. Sarah talks about the Sentinelese tribe and what is technically a murder (sorry Els) and Daly tells us the story that inspired one of her favourite songs. The episode also contains girl crushes, Holland chat and an interesting theory about people who ride horses. Enjoy!
