This week the show welcomes Mr. Casey Jones to the podcast! I first met Casey at a small bar in North Phoenix about 10 years ago. He was a tiny karaoke host with a big voice and a commanding presence. Since that time he's become a sound engineer for some of the biggest rock concerts and events in the valley... As well as performing as the front man for the local rock band Echo of Alt. In this episode we discuss him taking stage with The Bad Wolves in 2018, working closely with rock legend Alice Cooper, his strange hatred for milk, and which 3 rock stars he would bring back to life if he could. 0:00 - Cold Open / Intro (Lee Michaels)1:19 - Going Viral / Bad Wolves6:23 - Phoenix Bands / Linkin Park8:44 - Karaoke Bars (Marcels & Brigett's)16:04 - Angry Singers / Awesome Bartenders21:38 - Sound Quality / Audio Engineer24:16 - Mishaps, Difficult Clients & Autotune28:55 - Alice Cooper / Steven Tyler30:33 - Music Knowledge / Country32:01 - Timecode / Echo of Alt / Rock Styles36:49 - Playing in Dad's Band39:25 - AGT, The Voice & American Idol44:03 - First Album Ever Purchased45:01 - Best Vacation / Action Movie47:43 - Favorite Fast Food50:27 - Go-To Appetizer / Jordan & Lebron52:19 - Karoake Pet Peeves / Group Singing56:11 - Hurricane Bay / Karaoke Rooms58:55 - Biggest Tip / Favorite Cartoon1:02:10 - Gas Station Snacks1:03:56 - All-Time Favorite Band / Superhero1:05:02 - High School Sports1:08:15 - Pizza Toppings / Near-Death Experience1:11:06 - Beer / Favorite Video Game1:15:27 - Cereal & Milk 1:17:19 - Artists to Bring Back To Life1:21:18 - Original Music / Variety of Clients1:25:23 - Song Request / Great White1:27:05 - Outro / Close

Here we are - Jerry's Birthday and the start of the Days Between - as well as the day of the first of the GD 60 concerts out in San Francisco! I do envy all those able to attend! In the meantime we have a fine show from August of 1972 to start the celebrations on this week's Deadpod. This comes from Sacramento California on August 12, 1972. We will listen to the long first set this week - then the second set when I return in two weeks. I have to be gone next week and due to the constraints of posting on my podcast host I will be unable to have another Deadpod ready for next Friday. You will find lots to enjoy here - Keith and Donna are still settling in as the band adjusts to no Pigpen, but there is plenty of great music here. I will simply call your attention to the fine jazzy 'Bird Song' and of course the 'Playin' In the Band'. There is a rare 1st set 'Stella Blue' and plenty of rocking here as well. The band is also quite chatty which is always fun to hear. Grateful Dead Sacramento Memorial Auditorium Sacramento, CA 8/12/1972 - Saturday One The Promised Land [2:54] Sugaree [7:16] Me And My Uncle [2:57] Bird Song [10:25] Black Throated Wind [6:31] Deal [5:14] El Paso [2:51#] Tennessee Jed [#2:33] Playing In The Band [12:30] Big Railroad Blues [4:05] Cumberland Blues [6:42] Stella Blue [7:26] Jack Straw [#3:38] Casey Jones [6:26] You can listen to this week's Deadpod here: http://traffic.libsyn.com/deadshow/deadpod080125.mp3 Thank you my friends for your kind support.
COWABUNGA!! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Full Movie Reaction Watch Along: / thereelrejects Support The Channel By Getting Some REEL REJECTS Aparrel! https://www.rejectnationshop.com/ Just in time for the Theatrical Re-Release, Aaron & Johnald take a deep dive into the sewers of NYC to give their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990 Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis & Full Movie Spoiler Review!! Aaron Alexander & John Humphrey dive into the sewer-soaked streets of New York for their Reaction & Review of the 1990 live-action classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, directed by Steve Barron. Based on the beloved comic and animated series, this fan-favorite film brings Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael to life using groundbreaking Jim Henson creature effects. Voiced by Brian Tochi (Revenge of the Nerds) as Leonardo, Robbie Rist (Full House) as Michelangelo, Corey Feldman (The Goonies, Stand by Me) as Donatello, and Josh Pais (A Beautiful Mind) as Raphael (who also physically portrayed the character), the film captures the turtles' distinct personalities as they battle crime and search for their kidnapped master, Splinter (voiced by Kevin Clash of Sesame Street fame). The movie also stars Judith Hoag (Halloweentown, Armageddon) as fearless reporter April O'Neil and Elias Koteas (The Thin Red Line, Crash) as vigilante Casey Jones, both of whom become unlikely allies in the fight against the villainous Foot Clan and their menacing leader, The Shredder (James Saito – Eli Stone, Always Be My Maybe). From rooftop ninja battles and pizza-fueled bonding to the emotionally charged rescue of Splinter and the final showdown with Shredder, this film blends martial arts action, humor, and heart in a way that defined '90s kids' cinema. Packed with memorable one-liners, gritty cityscapes, and a killer soundtrack, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a shell-shocking adventure for fans old and new. This week on the Toy Power Podcast; we are still down a Scot, as he is still unwell. But that will not slow him down in contributing to this ep! Before we get into the main segments, we chat about Ben & Frank's latest Plastic Addiction, in the form of Transformers Blokees! Prior to chatting about the Superman Film itself, we focus on the Toy likeness compared to what the actor actually looks like! With a little Jurassic World banter in between. Then, without another moment to spare, we get right into the James Gunn driven film itself! We chat towards our Cinema experiences and start off with a non-spoiler discussion; before we head into a chat about the whole Film itself! Giving it our typical DVG rating out of 19 too. Then changing gears, we introduce a New segment - named: Variant Schmariant! We each pick two variants of a pre-existing character (in toy form) that just doesn't need to exist. We unearth some quite silly versions of characters that had a legitimate Toy Release; that clearly logic was not a concern at all!! Plus we tie a nice bow around the proposed Nick-Names for both Frank & Scot. Enjoy!!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This week on the Toy Power Podcast; we are sending thoughts & prayers to Scot, as he battles a case of Man-Flu! So instead the Trio of us bring you all the Latest News from around the network! Mezco One:12 Collective showcase their BTAS version of the Joker - with an incredible amount of extras & details! Neca have a beautiful 4pk set of the New TMNT Last Ronin Characters. The Thundertank is back - with a Toy Accurate Paint-job; plus a New version of Panthro too; all wrapped in a bow & a very expensive price tag from Super7. With the highly anticipated Fantastic Four Movie only days away from an official release; we are seeing a mountain of Toys tying into the Movie! Hot Toys not only reveal the Fantastic Family themselves; but also a Giant Sofvi Galactus; whom is sure to destroy your wallet & space in ones Collection!! Then we take a look at a carefully picked compilation of the Top 20 Heroes; covering everything from Toys, Video Games, Cartoons, Comics & also TV! Lots of Shoutouts to round out the episode; enjoy!!Support the show: http://patreon.com/toypowerpodcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
This week on the Toy Power Podcast; we have Matt Teale'o back; to guide us through his recent epic journey in the Shit Box Rally! Kicking off from the 2nd May to 10th May (9 Days)! From buying a Second Hand Car; to actually channeling the Wacky Racers theme not only through the Car itself, but also going that extra mile, & actually wearing a Dick Dastardly & Muttley costume! Chris & Matt take the roads less travelled from Canberra to Townsville (via Silverton), as they trek an impressive 3500 - 4000km's using as many Tennis Balls & tricks as they can muster! Then we change gears & guide the chat towards another round of The Team! This time being based around the Trio of Good-Guys Properties that centre around Land, Sky & Water - Thundercats, Silverhawks & Tigersharks! This was a lot of fun, & clearly there is a stand-out M.V.P. Character! Do you Agree, or would you have done things differently? This week we continue with the second set from the Grateful Dead's final show at the Fillmore West on July 2, 1971 This starts out with an unusual 'Sugar Magnolia' opener, going into a sweet 'Sing Me Back Home'.. after a short "Mama Tried' we are thrown into a whirlwind with a great 'Cryptical>Drums>Other One', with the Other One being dedicated to Owsley who was incarcerated at the time.. while this is perhaps the highlight of this set, the closing 'Not Fade Away>Going Down the Road>Not Fade Away' shows the band at their rocking best. Jerry prefaces the 'Johnny B Goode' encore with a 'Here's the one it's all about' :) Grateful Dead Fillmore West San Francisco, CA 7/2/1971 - Friday Two Sugar Magnolia [6:41] Sing Me Back Home [9:48] Mama Tried [2:47] Cryptical Envelopment [2:02] > Drums [5:16] > The Other One [15:40] Big Boss Man [5:18] Casey Jones [5:36] Not Fade Away [3:49] > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad [7:22] > Jam [1:09] > Not Fade Away [3:35] Encore Johnny B. This week on the Toy Power Podcast; we recap our attendance at the Adelaide Mega Toy Fair event. This annual event promotes itself for its long running campaign; but with new organisers this year, how did it actually go? We chat towards what we spotted, what we think needs to be improved & what we scored!! Spoiler alert: Pub Lunch & making a day of it with great friends, is always the overall highlight!! Then Trent does an awesome Toyline Retrospective on the early 80's franchise that was: Blackstar! With a Filmation Cartoon airing first in 1981; then a corresponding Toyline from Galoob in 1983! Featuring the fight between our Hero: John Blackstar against the Evil Ruler: Overlord on the Planet Sagar. This Toyline & franchise actually has more ties to Masters Of The Universe than one may think.... There are some EPIC Beasts, questionable modes of transport & the incredibly sort after Ice Castle Playset - this Franchise really tried hard & its interesting to think in a sliding doors parallel reality - could this have been a more popular franchise than Masters Of The Universe?! Then rounding out the episode, we squeeze a quick round table, around some of our Latest Scores! Fantastic 4 Movie Figures & Popcorn Buckets, Sherella - with origin story, but kind of overshadowed by Mondo's 200X HeMan fig! Some confusion around Beastman & lots of Joy for more TMNT. What drew you to the exquisite corpse method as a structural framework—and how did it shape your writing process across collaborators?2. You've said before that horror lets you explore personal fears in metaphorical ways—what fear sits at the heart of Exquisite Corpses for you personally?3. This project is filled with shifting tones and visual voices—how did you maintain thematic cohesion across multiple artists and chapters?4. You've tackled horror through multiple lenses—from psychological horror in The Nice House on the Lake to body horror in Something is Killing the Children. Where does Exquisite Corpses fall on your personal horror spectrum?5. You've spoken about burnout and choosing joy in your writing—did this collaborative process reawaken anything in you creatively?6. There's a class warfare element baked into the DNA of Exquisite Corpses. How important was it for you to make that commentary explicit rather than just subtext?7. You're known for big ideas in genre fiction. Was there ever a version of Exquisite Corpses that could've been a prose project or TV pitch—or was comics always the only way this could work?8. What's one element in Exquisite Corpses—a character, twist, or scene—that you're most excited for readers to finally experience, but can't say anything about yet?

Send us a textStep back into the sewers with us as we celebrate the groundbreaking 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film—a movie that holds the distinction of being the most profitable indie film until Blair Witch came along nearly a decade later. What makes this original adaptation so special? Why do all subsequent reboots pale in comparison? From Jim Henson's revolutionary puppetry work to the perfect blend of humor and heart, we break down the film scene by scene, highlighting memorable moments like Raphael's anger issues, Casey Jones' vigilante introduction, and the emotional connection between Splinter and his turtle sons. Did you know each actor who wore a turtle suit also appeared in human cameos throughout the movie? Or that Corey Feldman voiced Donatello for a mere $7,000 because he didn't think the film would succeed? The conversation naturally flows into our recent entertainment experiences, from the immersive world of Oblivion Remastered to Disney+'s surprisingly gritty Daredevil series. We debate the merits of practical effects versus CGI, reminisce about classic gaming mechanics, and share recommendations for games like Space Marines 2 and the upcoming Ready or Not.Whether you're a longtime TMNT fan or simply appreciate groundbreaking filmmaking, this nostalgic deep dive captures why some cultural touchstones continue to resonate decades later. The practical effects, authentic performances, and earnest storytelling of the original Turtles film created something special that modern technology simply can't replicate—proving sometimes, the original recipe remains the best.Support the show

Yes, there is news to talk too - some of it huge. Like a certain huge dragon. Huge fundraisers. Huge SDCC ecto-glow announcement. Two huge properties join forces (gotta build 'em all). One huge Shredder (bro lifts). But bigger than ALL of those, is the unexpected parcel of absolute joy sent by our favourite Canadian, the one and only Colin Betts. This has to be seen (heard?) to be believed. In spite of some truely awful postage costs, comes so many gifts filled with attention to detail, insight, humor and most importantly, love.
