La Paeria de Balaguer portarà a votació del ple d’aquest dijous el pressupost per al 2025. Els nous comptes públics arriben als 21,92 milions d’euros. Una altre dels punts serà el calendari de festius de l’any vinent. Dins d’aquest calendari, el 2026 es proposa el dilluns 13 de juliol que sigui festiu a la ciutat coincidint amb el cap de setmana de Transsegre Aquest dijous té lloc l’activitat Musiquem Balaguer a la plaça del Mercadal amb la participació de l’alumnat de 5è d’educació primària de la ciutat i l’Escola L’Estel. Aquest curs també ens acompanyarà l’escola de Ponts, com a convidats. Fins al 19 d'octubre a la sala vaixells del palau Maricel es pot veure 'L'elogi del dibuix, la col·lecció Manuel Puig' una mostra representativa del que es considera la col·lecció privada de dibuix més important de Catalunya. L'exposició, que és una joia visual magníficament presentada, ofereix un recull de 72 obres, de les quals 21 s'exposen per primera vegada, estructurat en quatre àmbits: acadèmia, rostres, relats i paisatges, i recull peces de Picasso, Warhol, Tàpies, Rusiñol, Fortuny, Rodin o De Chirico. A més, el muntatge dona especial rellevància a cinc dones artistes: Suzanne Valadon, Paula Rego, Remedios Varo o Natalia Gontxarova. Els comissaris de la mostra, Bonaventura Bassegoda i Francesc Quilez n'han comentat els aspectes més rellevants. L'entrada L’art del dibuix en una exposició imperdible a la sala vaixells de Maricel ha aparegut primer a Radio Maricel.

Però mira, l'altre dia vaig llegir un tweet d'un noi que em sembla que és professor, que argumentava per què està bé que no sigui festiu, d'acord?, perquè jo sempre havia pensat com tu, que… no?, és un dia molt bonic, és un dia en què celebrem moltes coses, no?, perquè és el dia dels enamorats, però també és el dia dels llibres, hi ha un ambient, no sé… molt… molt guai i està bé poder sortir al carrer per veure aquest ambient i gaudir-ne, però aquest noi deia: "Està bé que no sigui festiu, perquè així els nens a l'escola es poden familiaritzar molt bé amb tota aquesta tradició". No? A l'escola es fan representacions teatrals de la llegenda de Sant Jordi o es fan concursos literaris… Crec que és una oportunitat per als nens per viure bé la tradició i estar en contacte, doncs això, amb els llibres, amb la literatura, perquè d'una altra manera, si aquest dia fos festiu, quants nens agafarien un llibre aquell dia? Joan: [1:40] D'acord, em sembla bé. O sigui, és… Andreu, és perfecte. Com que és el dia dels enamorats, els nens a l'escola i les parelles al carrer. Que sigui festiu per tots, menys pels professors. No, no. Però no sé, potser a la tarda, no? O sigui, matí treballar, tarda festiu. Andreu: [1:57] Exacte, llavors una cosa híbrida potser seria el millor, no? Classes al matí i a la tarda tothom lliure per poder sortir al carrer. Joan: [2:06] Sí, sí, sí, sí. No sé, sempre és aquesta... Quan dic relació amor-odi és això. També, el gremi de llibreters diu que si fos estiu la gent se n'aniria de pont i no gaudirien tant de la festa. Però també descentralitzaria la festa, vull dir, potser se n'anirien de pont… te'n vas al Pirineu o a la platja o no sé on i descentralitzes la festa. Andreu: [2:26] Clar, però si passa com aquest any que Setmana Santa i Sant Jordi estaven tan junts, si fem Sant Jordi festiu, és això, no?, que la gent allargaria les vacances de Setmana Santa, faria un pont llarg i això al final redueix la venda de llibres també. Joan: [2:42] Sí, sí, sí. Bé, no sé jo penso que estem d'acord que Sant Jordi és la millor festa de la història. Andreu: [2:47] Totalment. Bé, et va caure algun llibre? Te'n van regalar algun? Joan: [2:53] Sí, sí, en vaig comprar un... bé, el vaig triar, el va comprar la Sílvia, que és, res, per desgràcia és en castellà. Andreu: [3:00] Home… Joan: [3:02] Sí, és que tinc aquest problema amb la literatura fantàstica, que tot ho fan en castellà. Així, els tallers van repassar amb informació pràctica els 14 grups d'aliments amb informaicó obligatòria, la necessitat de llegir les etiquetes dels processats, o els riscos de la contaminació creuada. Els alumnes van valorar molt positivament l'experiència, essencial per a la seva formació professional. Ho hem comentat amb Rafael Luna, formador de la Diputació, el Víctor, l'Adrià i la Martina, alumnes de Dietètica i de direcció de Cuina del Benaprés, i amb la responsable de l'OMIC de Sitges, Sandra Clark. L'entrada Espai Consum: un taller introdueix els alumnes dels cicles formatius del Benaprés en els al·lèrgens ha aparegut primer a Radio Maricel.
