This is Love Hurts. Carly Ann Filbin is a writer and storyteller living in Brooklyn. Carly had an experience with love at a young age that's stayed with her into adulthood. Her story was very similar to a story from my childhood, so we looked at how those stories shaped our views on love today and what it's like navigating dating as we get older. Carly teaches writing and storytelling classes through Written in Brooklyn. Our theme song is EmoTown by Mikki Hommel. Carly Ann Filbin gets Famously dumped out of NO WHERE in our most recent dumping situation. Carly Ann was in a 6 week quarantine long distance relationship where she was completely gaslit. Yup, it's an episode about a man gaslighting a woman. And it's a good one. Carly Ann says to get through it you GOTTA journal and maybe go on a 10 day meditation retreat. But definitely journal the shit out of it.

Carly and Illy gab about ladies in comedy, Carly’s new show at The PIT, Lady Parts as well as her new foray into vlogging. Listening to Illy and Carly talk to each other is listening to a lot of opinions and theories about a lot of things, but they’re definitely ones worth listening to. This November, Illy also wants you to give thanks by donating to both, www.redcross.org to support those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in the Phillipines, and to The PIT’s Movember team to raise awareness for men’s health. In between all that giving you’ll be doing, make sure to enjoy some laughs by checking out Carly’s vlogs at www.youtube.com/user/CarlyAnnHasFun Enjoy!
