Fanny, vajayjay, kitty, muff, coochie, hoo ha, lady garden – whatever you call it, in this week's episode, both of our storytellers share weird and wonderful tales about their vaginas. Part 1: When Milly McDermott is 15, she finds a grapefruit-sized tumor growing out of her vagina. Part 2: After a guy she was dating tells Dawn Harris she has two vaginas, she can't help but wonder what is going on down there. Milly McDermott is a cartoonist, comedian, and show runner who has ran comedy shows in both the U.S. and in China. Milly began her comedy career after being diagnosed with a rare uterine cancer at the age of 15. She now runs comedy shows in New York City and continues to publish comic strips about her life.  Dawn Harris is a theatre major from Alabama, enjoying a lucrative career in an unrelated field. She has studied storytelling at The Magnet Theater and The Story Studio. Her early years in New York were spent studying improv comedy with The People's Improv Theatre, The Magnet Theater, and The Upright Citizen's Brigade. Noel Katz is a composer and lyricist. He is best known for Such Good Friends, an original musical comedy presented at the fourth annual New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2007, here it won five awards, including Talkin' Broadway's Citation as the season's best musical. It tells the story of three old friends working together in the early years of live television who are forced to name names before the House Un-American Activities Committee, and the consequences of the different choices each character makes. Katz composed Our Wedding, The Musical, a musical written for his own actual wedding, which was featured in The New York Times in 2003. Katz is also a specialist in theatrical improvisation. He has taught at Artistic New Directions' Summer Improv Retreat and currently teaches at The People's Improv Theatre. He has composed scores for a variety of Second City (NY) improv-based revues, including We Built This City on Rent Control, A Time For Heroes and Hoagies, and Generation F'd. He has also taught song improvisation at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Circle in the Square and the National Dance Institute. Rehearsing for Life sees eleven actors on the spectrum decide to form an improv troupe. We see them learn, rehearse and improve. Then, half of them do an actual improvised set, based on audience suggestions, and an epilogue illuminates how their lives have changed.

How often do you walk away from a conversation feeling heard, like you put across the things you wanted to? Feeling relaxed, not frantic? And how often do you workshops produce those same sensations? If it's less often than you'd like, Johnnie Moore can help, with his Unhurried model for conversation (and more). As facilitators, we can learn a lot — directly and indirectly — from this approach. Unhurried might make you think ‘slow', but it's not necessarily so. Rather than purely slowing down, Johnnie explores what happens when we add layers and awareness to our interactions. When we take time to share, listen, and reflect, the conversation sounds very different. In an increasingly demanding and results-oriented professional space, this is becoming a rare skill. And, as it becomes rarer, it will become vital that we reclaim the time and space to be unhurried.Find out about:How Johnnie developed the concept of unhurried conversations to what it is todayWhy slowness isn't necessarily the goal of being unhurriedHow to use props and models as guides to ease your way into unhurried conversationWhy Johnnie's reflective practice uses a sliding scale of satisfaction, rather than failure vs. successHow to own your role in the conversation and step into honest relating about your experienceWhat ‘airtime' in conversation is and why it is often the root of frustrationsHow to have an effective conversation while speaking gibberishDon't miss the next episode: subscribe to the show with your favourite podcast player. And download the free 1-page summary, so you can always have the key points of this episode to hand.LinksWatch the video recording of this episode on YouTube.Johnnie's websiteThe Unhurried websiteConnect to Johnnie:On LinkedInSupport the show

OK, well this was so much fun! I love a good story.  As my guest today says, a good story will teach us something and we will be changed after hearing it. Corey Rosen joins me on the podcast to talk about just that. Corey is a Bay Area celeb, having hosted over 105 live events for The Moth Story Slam in San Francisco and Berkeley. Fun fact - he won the first ever Bay Area Moth Story Slam in 2014. He is an Emmy award winning writer, an actor and a visual effects editor and now author. He began his career at Lucas Films as a visual effects editor and worked on a few of our favorite films ie: Star Wars and Mission Impossible - Corey has performed with my favorite Improv Theatre center, BATS and has written for Comedy Central, Jim Henson Productions and Lucas Films.  So yea, he's a cool guy and I was honored to have him on my podcast. If you think you don't have a story, think again. We all have stories and at some point we may be called upon to share them. Whether preparing a toast for a wedding or other celebration, or simply sitting next to someone at a gathering, you may need to share a life snippet. We talk all about that and more in this engaging conversation.Oh yes we also talk a. bit about Corey's new book.
