This week I spiraled out with brilliant and criminally funny comedian & writer Anna Drezen (SNL, Girls5eva, Praise Petey.) We compared the "niceness" of our Moms, bonded over how uncomfortable it is to feel cared for, and wondered which is more vulnerable: inconveniencing an entire train full of strangers, or somebody you have a crush on. Plus, Anna shares a shame story about planning a baby shower for her friend and feeling like she shit the...bassinet, if you will. Saturday Night Live wasn't the only thing hit with crippling issues in December! Forgive the hiatus, technical difficulties happen. In this episode, we're joined by Daniela (@daygardners) to discuss the nightmare that was the Season 47 Christmas Show. We get into the drama leading up to what eventually aired, the flop itself, our goodbyes to Paul Briganti, Jasmine Pierce, and Anna Drezen, and stupidly, our predictions for the show moving forward. We chat about some truly great sketches like Please Don't Destroy's ode to Tik Tok, Heidi Gardner's star moment in Hip Hop Nativity, and Kate McKinnon and Anna Drezen's amazingly awkward advertisement for generic hotels everywhere. My guest today is SNL head writer Anna Drezen. This was a really fun conversation. Anna is so funny, I'm a diehard SNL fan, and I think this new season is soooo good. This was recorded in March of 2021 and it's taken a little time to get this episode out. Anna Drezen gets Famously Dumped by a camp crush that she was together with for four DAYS. She brakes a lot of Famously Dumped records and really opens up to us. This episode is unbelievably funny as Anna is a crazy person who has dated any man she's ever met whether they know it or not. She really felt the sadness of the relationship and listened to a lot of Nora Jones, Coldplay XY, and the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. She also wrote poetry at an apple orchard while doing exercise. Although this breakup happened when she was a teen, the coping mechanisms really hold up if you're an adult.
