The final putt had barely fallen, but we're here recapping Tony Finau's big win at the Northern Trust, defeating Cam Smith in the first playoff hole on Monday night. This is Finau's second PGA Tour victory, his first since the 2016 Puerto Rico Open. With the win, Finau launches into first place in the standings after the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. We also set the stage for who is out and who is in at the BMW Championship as well as who is on the bubble and needs a big week to get into the Tour Championship. Taking place across the pond, veteran Anna Nordqvist came out on top at the AIG Women's Open at historic Carnoustie Golf Links, taking home the final major on the 2021 calendar. The win was her 9th career LPGA Tour victory and 3rd major, which also ended her winless drought dating back to the 2017 Evian Championship. Last big headline of the week, the captains have made their picks and the teams are finalized for the upcoming Solheim Cup. We briefly run through the lineups for both Team USA and Team Europe, but check back next week for the full, in-depth preview of the event, which will take place Sep. 4-6 at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
