The Marc Cox Morning Show kicks off live from Whitmore Country Club — and Marc Cox comes out swinging. While patriots gather to tee off for Folds of Honor and America's veterans, Democrats are on television declaring Iran the winner of a war that left their military in ruins. Marc dismantles that lie piece by piece. Then — "Go Algae" protesters vandalize the National Mall's reflecting pool, Marine One sends them a message from above, and Judge Jeanine Pirro promises to prosecute every last one of them. Kim St. Onge takes over for Kim on a Whim with a deep dive into the left's obsession with erasing American history — from Tower Grove Park to Baltimore's returning Confederate statues to the 1619 Project sneaking into classrooms. And to cap it all off — the Marc Cox Morning Show plays the audio of Joe Biden proving he had zero idea what Juneteenth was right before he made it a national holiday. Hour 1 is a barn burner — and the show is just getting started. Send us Fan MailWelcome to the Reel Turf Techs Podcast, Episode 168.Today we're talking with Chris Brumley, Equipment Manager at Colonie Golf & Country Club in Voorheesville, New York. Colonie is a private 18-hole facility with golf, tennis, and pool amenities, and Chris is the lone technician responsible for keeping a fleet of equipment from all the major manufacturers up and running.Chris shares how growing up around the golf course shaped his career path. What started as helping out eventually turned into an opportunity when the club's longtime mechanic faced health issues, pushing Chris into the equipment management role full time. They talk about the realities of running a one-man shop, from the never-ending task of greasing equipment to dealing with machines that don't always come back as clean as they left. Chris also shares some of his favorite tools, including a cordless Milwaukee rotary tool and low-profile bit sets that have saved the day more than once. The conversation covers learning from mentors, group chats, YouTube fun, and fellow technicians, along with bigger projects like rebuilding a ProGator diesel engine and transmission. Chris also discusses making custom tools for the shop and finding small efficiency gains, such as swapping grease fittings to 90-degree angles to make maintenance quicker and easier. It's a great conversation about growing up in the industry, learning by doing, and finding practical solutions when you're the only person in the shop.Tweet us @ReelTurfTechs and @MTrentManningEmail us at ReelTurfTechs@gmail.comCheck out our YouTube Channel

In this latest episode I was joined by current LET Access Series pro Louisa Carlbom after a solid start to this season with back to back 9th placed finishes & 3rd on Sunshine Ladies Tour which got Louisa into Joburg Ladies Open on LET where she would finish 38th before a 23rd at Allegria Ladies Open on LET Access. Louisa is from Onsala outside of the city of Göteborg and began the game of Golf at the age of 6 at Gräppås Golfklubb and would start to compete in junior events at 13. Louisa would win on Ahlsell Nordic Golf Tour in 2019 as an Amateur before joining San Jose State University where Louisa would be a 3x WGCA All-American Scholar and she would win 20th Landfall Tradition event at Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina. In 2024, Louisa would turn professional and would finish 52nd in her first full start on LET Access Series at Santander Golf Tour Avila, while best finish of the year was 22nd at Slovak Ladies Open. 2025 would see Louisa finish runner up at her home country event in Sweden at Landeryds GK which she admits gave her the confidence and belief for a good season with 3 other Top 10's (4th at Irish), (9th at Lavaux) & (4th at season ending Calatayud) to finish 17th on LET Access Series Order of Merit standings. A player certainly capable of a win on LET Access Series soon. Wish you all the best for this year, thanks Louisa for the chat. Downloads via Podbean, Apple Podcasts & Spotify, also on YouTube.

In this episode of Leadership on the Links, we sit down with Kent Johnson, COO of Baltimore Country Club, one of the most storied platinum-level private clubs in the country. Kent pulls back the curtain on what it actually takes to build a club culture that runs through every layer of an organization, from the board room to the line-level staff. He shares the philosophy behind BCC's "Great People Make Favorite Places" credo, how BCC University keeps staff engaged and growing, and why the club has leaned hard into becoming a community employer of choice in a tight labor market. If you lead a club, manage a team, or are simply passionate about what high-performance hospitality looks like in a private club setting, this is a conversation you won't want to miss. What You'll Learn in this Episode: How Kent built BCC's "Great People Make Favorite Places" culture over eight years and why it starts long before anyone is hired. Why BCC University, with 70 to 80 classes per year taught by staff, members, and celebrities like Cal Ripken Jr., keeps team engagement high and turnover low. The role of cross-departmental leadership meetings in breaking down silos and driving the club's core values to every level of the organization. How hosting USGA championship events, including the US Senior Amateur and Women's Amateur, helps BCC attract elite agronomy and hospitality talent. Kent's honest take on where the club management industry is headed, including the workforce pipeline challenge facing agronomy and equipment manager roles. Why developing talent from within is the most reliable recruiting strategy in today's tight labor market. How the GM-superintendent relationship should work, and what "just get out of their way" really means in practice. For 50 years, the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday has helped shape Greater Columbus into a world-class sports destination. In this episode of Yes, Columbus, Boxer and Sarah sit down with Jack Nicklaus II, president of Nicklaus Design, and veteran golf journalist Dave Shedloski to reflect on the tournament's legacy, evolution and impact. In this episode, hear stories about the tournament's earliest days to and unforgettable moments at Muirfield Village Golf Club. This conversation celebrates the traditions, people and experiences that continue to make the Memorial one of the most iconic events on the PGA TOUR.Jack William Nicklaus, II -Jack Nicklaus II followed in his father's footsteps in more than just his name. Following a successful collegiate career at the University of North Carolina, Jack II enjoyed competitive success first on the amateur circuit and then the professional circuits. Jack II not only has a passion for the game of golf, but as a former University of North Carolina team alum and professional golfer, Jack has a deep understanding of the commitment both collegiate and progressional athletes take on both physically and mentally. In the late 1980's Jack II decided on a career in golf course design, designing his first golf course in 1991. His ninth book will be published in time for the 50th anniversary of the Memorial Tournament, titled: "Memorial Memories: The History of the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide and Muirfield Village Golf Club."Shedloski lives in New Albany, Ohio, and is the father of two children, Alexander and Elizabeth.
Frank Cordeiro, COO at renowned Colonial Country Club in Ft. Worth, TX discusses the dangers of complacency in the private club industry. He argues that while many clubs are currently thriving post-pandemic, leaders must look beyond today's success to avoid the fate of once-dominant companies like Kodak or Blockbuster. The conversation covers the necessity of data-driven decision-making, the importance of innovating for the next generation of members, and how proper governance can align a club's traditional identity with modern needs. Key Moments 00:00 - Today's Featured Article Ed Heil introduces an insightful piece co-authored by Frank Cordeiro and Ray Cronin, focusing on the connection between US population demographics and the ebb and flow of club memberships. 01:32 - The Importance of Informed Decision-Making Frank describes his long-standing partnership with Ray Cronin and how they championed the use of high-quality data in an industry that previously relied on assumptions. 03:54 - The Danger of Complacency During Peak Times Frank warns that "success is not permanent." He uses examples like Blockbuster and Toys 'R' Us to illustrate how industry leaders can fail if they stop innovating during profitable years. 08:21 - Correcting the Misconception of Pricing A look back at the industry decline between 2000 and 2017. Frank explains that clubs wrongly blamed high pricing, when the real issue was a demographic shift they weren't tracking. 10:11 - The "Flight to Quality" Strategy Frank shares an anecdotal example from the 2008 recession: clubs that maintained high standards and premium amenities thrived, while those that cut prices to compete on cost eventually failed. 15:47 - Understanding the "Next Member" Demographic A discussion on the shift toward Gen Y and Gen Z. Frank emphasizes that leaders must ask what these future members will value, rather than assuming current preferences will last forever. 17:30 - Converting Tradition into Modern Value Frank explains how Colonial Country Club (nearly a century old) remains forward-looking by converting underused dining spaces into high-tech shared workspaces for remote professionals. 19:40 - Identifying Member Commonalities Rather than letting generational differences create conflict, Frank suggests looking for common ground—like how both a 30-year-old and a 70-year-old likely value a good smartphone and high-quality dining. 21:12 - Leading vs. Lagging Indicators Frank highlights the need to watch societal and behavioral shifts (leading indicators) rather than just reacting to past financial performance (lagging indicators). 22:54 - Redefining Strategy and Governance A critique of the "12-month cycle." Frank argues that true strategy involves 5-to-10-year planning, moving away from micro-tasks and focusing on long-term institutional evolution.

We get into the realities of being a solo tech — keeping up with the daily grind like greasing, prioritizing what matters most, and managing stress when everything falls on you.He also talks about navigating the “young guy” dynamic with staff, and the impact of mentorship along the way, especially lessons from Jerry around organization, problem solving, and having a fix-before-replace mindset. There are some great practical tips in here too, from using muffin trays to keep hardware sorted to reel setup and pulling broken bolts. They also touch on tournament prep, volunteering opportunities, and a few safety stories from the course. It's a real look at running a one-man shop, figuring things out as you go, and building confidence along the way.Tweet us @ReelTurfTechs and @MTrentManningEmail us at ReelTurfTechs@gmail.comCheck out our YouTube Channel

The CPG Guys are joined in the episode by Benoit Vatere, Chief Media Officer for Liquid Death. As one of the fastest growing non-alcoholic beverage brands, Liquid Death uses comedy and entertainment to make health and sustainability 50 times more fun. We take low-calorie beverages and package them into infinitely recyclable cans that compete with the fun marketing of unhealthy brands across beer and junk food. This episode was record in Las Vegas at Shoptalk 2026.Follow Benoit on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/benoitvatereFollow Liquid Death on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/liquid-deathBenoit answers these questions:Benoit, you've famously said Liquid Death is an entertainment company that happens to sell water. How do you maintain that "unfiltered" creative edge while managing the rigid P&L and distribution requirements of a global CPG?You have a "Country Club" of fans who literally tattoo your logo on their bodies. In an AI world where algorithms try to predict loyalty, how do you protect and scale the "irrational" human connection your brand has built? You've built a massive brand by doing the opposite of "best practices." What is one "traditional" CPG marketing rule that you think is officially dead in 2026?Most brands use Retail Media for lower-funnel "search" (buying keywords). Liquid Death is a lifestyle brand that wins at the shelf. How are you using Retail Media Networks (RMNs) to drive discovery rather than just capturing existing demand?Does Liquid Death focus strictly on the "Big 3" (Amazon, Walmart, Instacart), or are you finding unique value in the smaller, niche retail networks? How is Liquid Death structured to ensure the "vibe" isn't lost in the math of an ad-stack?How does a brand as visually loud as Liquid Death plan to win the journey from the living room sofa to the kitchen fridge? How does a brand built on impulse and rebellion stay relevant when a literal robot is making the household grocery list? Are you using GenAI to scale your content production, or do you find that AI currently lacks the "edge" or "danger" required for your brand voice? How does Liquid Death sync its DTC data with physical retail signals to create a 360-degree view of your "Country Club" members?CPG Guys Website: http://CPGguys.comFMCG Guys Website: http://FMCGguys.comSheCOMMERCE Website: https://shecommercepodcast.com/Rhea Raj's Website: http://rhearaj.comLara Raj in Katseye: https://www.katseye.world/DISCLAIMER: The content in this podcast episode is provided for general informational purposes only. Stassi and Taylor are back, and because they record on Mondays, the biggest story of last week, Ciara and West, dropped right after they wrapped. They get into the latest Summer House fallout, Mormon Wives, friendship betrayal, and girl code, before moving on to something just as serious: Stassi realizing she may actually want country club life. From there it's Aperol spritzes, country club salads, tantrum hacks involving the name “Jessica,” and Taylor finding out her in-laws basically have 24/7 access to the baby monitor. Thanks for supporting our sponsors:Caraway: Visit Carawayhome.com/STASSIPOD and take an additional 10% off your nextPurchase.Quince: Go to Quince.com/STASSI for free shipping and 365-day returns.Zbiotics: “Go to https://zbiotics.com/STASSI and use STASSI at checkout for 15% off any first time orders of ZBiotics probiotics.Nutrafol: Receive $10 off your first month's subscription and free shipping when you visit Nutrafol.com and enter promo code STASSI.Booking.com: Don't miss out on consistent bookings and global reach.
