The Questions of Christmas Luke 2:1-20The Village Chapel - 12/24/2025From Mary to the magi, from shepherds to kings, the first witnesses to Christmas were caught between wonder and resistance, worship and fear. And in the middle of their questions stood an answer none of them could have imagined: God came near. This Christmas Eve, we'll rediscover how the Incarnation restores wonder to a weary world, redirects our worship to the God who stepped into our story, and compels us to bear witness to good news of great joy. Not advice about what we must do—but an announcement of what God has done. Come, stand rapt in awe once more at the story of that first Christmas.Join Pastor Jim as we take another look at one of the greatest mysteries of all time; how on that holy night, the birth of a child was the invasion of a King—and it still changes everything. To find more resources like these, follow us:Website: https://thevillagechapel.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQVTzDbaiXVUAm_mUBDCTJAInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/tvcnashville/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tvcnashvilleX: https://twitter.com/tvcnashvilleTo support the ongoing mission of The Village Chapel go to https://thevillagechapel.com/give/. What Do You Really Need This Christmas? | Christ For YouText: Luke 2:15-20| Christmas DayWhy does Christmas sometimes feel useless? Why can the day be beautiful, and yet nothing in your life actually changes? The pain is still there. The loneliness is still there. The guilt is still there. And church can start to feel like a strange little ritual that doesn't touch the real problems. But underneath that frustration sits a deeper lie: that your biggest problem is your situation. If the money came, if the marriage improved, if the grief lifted, then you'd finally be okay. Scripture says your biggest problem is not around you. It's in you: sin, a haunted conscience, and the death that follows. So God does not give you what you think you need. He gives you what you actually need. He gives you Himself. The Baby in the manger is the Man on the cross, and the Man on the cross is the Lord who forgives you day after day. Christmas is not God offering advice or upgrades. Christmas is God coming near, in real flesh and blood, to save you.If you feel empty, disappointed, or even numb this Christmas, this sermon is for you.Subscribe & Share:Apple Podcasts: Christ For YouSpotify: Christ For YouPortuguês: Cristo Para VocêWebsite: ZionWG.orgContact: PastorRojas@ZionWG.org

Jesus was born in a quiet, unexpected place when there was no room in the inn. Luke 2:1–7 reminds us that the question of Christmas is still the same: will we make room for Him? Listen to this week's sermon, preached by Dr. Lee Clamp.

Cowabunga!

God says there's 1 thing that if you leave out of your Christmas and out of your life, then it's too small. Find out what it is, in a 2700 year old promise.
Today’s Bible Verse: “But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.’” — Luke 2:10 (NIV) Luke 2:10 announces the heart of the Christmas story—good news that brings great joy. Spoken to ordinary shepherds in the middle of an ordinary night, this verse reminds us that God’s joy is not reserved for the powerful or prepared. It arrives unexpectedly and reaches everyone. Advent invites us to receive this joy even when fear, uncertainty, or weariness try to take center stage. The angel’s words still speak today: fear doesn’t get the final word—joy does. “Want to listen without ads?
Believe and be glad: a miracle baby proved the age of fulfillment had come.

Today we celebrate week three of the Advent season where the focus is on love. One of the primary ways to demonstrate love for the Lord is through quality time. We can grow in our relationships with Christ by spending time in His presence. We should be spending time in prayer. We should be spending time reading, studying, and meditating on the Word of God. In this way we can "sit at the feet of Jesus" just as Mary did in our text for today. Scripture text is Luke 10:38-42.

This Passage mentions three things to focus on as we prepare to celebrate Christmas. To cherish Christ, to beware of distractions from Christ and to rest in the care of Christ.

Ironically, while Christmas is supposed to be a season of reflection and growing near to Jesus, the season itself has become so loud and busy that we can struggle with drawing near to God. How can we find Peace in the middle of a busy season? How can the Holy Spirit empower us to cut through the distraction and noise?
Christmas reminds us of the Good Shepherd who leaves the 99 to rescue the 1! Join Pastor Cameron as he shows us the connection between this story and Christmas.
In this episode we feature a talk by Amy Wicks given at a Christmas event in 2019. It's a talk considering Simeon and his joy at the coming Messiah. It's a wonderful talk in encouraging the listener to consider how Christmas might me more important than they might expect. Questions answered in this episode: - What does the story of Simeon mean - Is the Christmas story still relevant? - Why is the Messiah important?

God jul!
