Pastoral Care Pastor Jolene Veenstra will present the 3rd message in the “Just Love” series. “What's In It For Me”. She will be looking at 1 Corthinians, Chapter 3, verse 13.Love is not self-seeking, right? So why does this passage encourage us to think of what we might "gain" when feeding the poor and giving of ourselves? Just what is Paul trying to say here?
Pastor Warren Harvey preaches on 1 Corinthians 13:1-13. 1 Corinthians 13, the "love" chapter, is likely one of the more well-known, oft-quoted passages in the New Testament. Yet far being simply a celebration of marital bliss or ode to romantic sentimentality, it is given to us as a convicting and challenging description of the central characteristic and defining mark of our life together as God's people. Love, as exemplified by Christ and experienced through his Spirit undergirds, informs and outlasts all that we are called to be and do together in the body of Christ. It is the more excellent way, and the question we must constantly keep before us in our life together as believers is "Are we walking in it?"
REWARD of Eternal CROWN Sunday Fb Live "Rewards of Eternal CROWN" > Though we are to work together, we are REWARD INDIVIDUALLY. 1 Corinthians 3:8-15 (The choices of material) 12] Now anyone who builds on that foundation may USE GOLD, SILVER, JEWELS, WOOD, HAY, or STRAW. (Time of Testing) 13] But there is going to come a time of testing at the judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. EVERYONE'S WORK WILL BE PUT THROUGH THE FIRE to SEE WHETHER or NOT it KEEPS its VALUE. (We need to Survived) 14] IF THE WORK survived THE FIRE, THAT BUILDER WILL RECEIVE A REWARD. ( Save but no REWARD) [15] If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved---even though only as one escaping through the flames. Psalm 37:18 Day by day the Lord observes the good deeds done by godly men and gives them eternal rewards. INTRODUCTION One day we will all stand before God and our lives will be judged. But there is a judgement of the believer as we have just read. Our life, our work, our deeds will be ‘put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value.' Our open passage tells this • Though we are to work together, we are reward individually. • We are partners with God in this work. • The work's foundation can only be Jesus Christ. • Choices of material - gold, silver and jewels or wood, hay and straw. Not the loss of salvation. They will be saved but like someone just escaping a fire – with nothing. They will miss out on rewards. God does not want us to just escape hell, but to live a full life for Jesus and receive eternal rewards that he has prepared for those that love him. > In the Bible these rewards are defined as crowns and today we are going to look quickly at 5 CROWNS OF ETERNAL REWARDS. 1. THE CROWN OF LIFE 2. THE INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN 3. THE CROWN OF REJOICING or the SOUL WINNERS CROWN - 4. THE CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS 5. THE CROWN OF GLORY (THE CROWN OF LIFE) - to those who devote themselves to Jesus. James 1:12 14 God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. > Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. > This crown is given to those who love God. > Devote themselves to Him in every area of their lives. Mark 8:35 says Whoever shall save his life shall lose it and whoever shall lose his life for my sake and the Gospel the same shall save it. Would you like to receive the crown of life - Allow the Holy Spirit to bring you closer to God, loving Him with all your heart, mind and strength. (THE INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN) - for those who lived a disciplined Christian life 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 24. Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable (incorruptible) crown. 26. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. > Paul describes life here in Corthinians as a race. And there is prize at the end. It is the incorruptible, imperishable
1. The difficult and often discouraging ministry of a 'turn around' pastor requires encouragement from solid believers (1 Timothy 1:18,19).2. Proofing profits have had a predictive prophecy come true (Samuel: 1 Samuel 3:19,30 & 9:6; the other O.T. Prophets, Agabus (Acts 11:28), the apostle John (Revelation 2:10), Paul (Acts 20:29,30).3. Processes can be predictive (1 Samuel 3:18,19; Acts 20:29,30) reveal hidden sinful activities (2 Samuel 12), offer unique teachings to specific church contexts (Revelation 2,3), and give general exhortation to churches (1 Corthinians 14).4. Blaspheming the gospel message can occur among those who once were part of the genuine faith (1 Timothy 1:20, 6:1)5. Releasing someone from the fellowship of the church to the realm of the secular world (i.e. handing over to Satan) for either locking themselves into sinful practices or abandoning the true gospel message, is to be redemptive a purpose (1 Timothy 1:20, 1 Corinthians 5:5).
Purpose is not easy, but it can be if we grasp this .. Verses: Matthew 5: 14-16 Matthew 11:30 2 Corthinians 3:19 IG: Unleashingsouls: https://www.instagram.com/unleashingsouls/ Thamichaet: https://www.instagram.com/thamichaet/
