The latest tranche of documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case includes emails and correspondence suggesting that former Prince Andrew may have shared sensitive UK government information with Epstein while serving as Britain's trade envoy. According to claims circulating online, some correspondence implied that Andrew leaked confidential details from official trade missions and was involved in social engagements arranged by Epstein, including a secret dinner with a Chinese model—events framed by an Epstein boast about having “the UK sewn up.” These revelations have intensified criticism and calls for a formal probe into whether Andrew's actions constituted misconduct, misuse of position, or even breaches of the Official Secrets Act.The latest tranche of documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case includes emails and correspondence suggesting that former Prince Andrew may have shared sensitive UK government information with Epstein while serving as Britain's trade envoy. Guiding Question Is your spiritual pride keeping you from needing a Savior? Summary Dr. Lewis walks listeners through 1 Corinthians 1:26–31 and 6:9–11, exposing our pride and self-sufficiency. He highlights how God intentionally chooses “the foolish, weak, and despised” to shame the world's strong and proud. Using vivid biblical examples (Corinthian slaves, thieves, adulterers, homosexuals) and contemporary illustrations (a homecoming queen realizing a humble girl has what money can't buy), he challenges us to consider: What blocks us from embracing God on His terms? Pride or self-righteousness? Then, through 1 Corinthians 1:30, Dr. Lewis shows how Christ becomes wisdom from God—giving us: Righteousness – our legal standing before God Sanctification – spiritual transformation Redemption – ultimate hope beyond death He contrasts the inadequacy of philosophy (“wishology”) and psychology with the life-changing wisdom of Christ. Finally, quoting Jeremiah 9:23–24, he ties it all together: true boasting is not in our wealth, wisdom, or power—but in knowing and understanding God. Outline The Paradox of God's Choice (1 Cor. 1:26–31) God chooses the weak and foolish to shame the strong Illustrations from Corinth and modern life Breaking Spiritual Pride Matthew's Beatitudes: “poor in spirit” William Barclay: “can do nothing” -> real Christianity begins God's Methods to Reach Us Crisis Emptiness Holy Spirit's quiet tug Christ: God's Wisdom in Us (1 Cor. 1:30) Righteousness Sanctification Redemption (eternal perspective) Why We Should Boast in God The emptiness of philosophy and psychology Jeremiah's command: boast only in knowing God Invitation & Response Personal challenge: Is pride keeping you from Christ? Prayer invitation for forgiveness and new life Key Takeaways Pride blocks access to God; spiritual poverty opens the door. God's “foolish” servants highlight His power, not ours. True wisdom comes from embracing Christ's righteousness, transformation, and hope. Philosophy and psychology may analyze life—they cannot redeem. Real boasting is in knowing God's character and pursuing relationship, not achievements. Scripture References 1 Corinthians 1:26–31 – God chooses the weak and foolish 1 Corinthians 6:9–11 – “And such were some of you…” Matthew 5:3 – Blessed are the poor in spirit 1 Corinthians 1:30 – Christ as our wisdom Jeremiah 9:23–24 – Boast only in knowing the Lord Recorded 5/17/81

A Prayer for Love that Does Not Boast by Rachael AdamsThere is so much joy when we see our children using their God-given gifts for His glory. In this episode Rachael shares a story of a young worship leader and the example of the apostle Paul, we’re reminded that our talents, accomplishments, and abilities are not meant to draw attention to ourselves, but to point others to Christ. When we shift our focus from self-promotion to God’s faithfulness, we discover the freedom and joy that come from boasting in the Lord alone. Reference: 1 Corinthians 1:31 Prayer: Father, thank you for all you have given me. Forgive me for taking credit or trying to gain glory for what you alone deserve. Cleanse my heart from any impure motive or thought that causes me to extol myself and seek man's applause. If I boast, may it be of the ways you have blessed me and worked in my life. I pray, if I make much of anything, I make much of you. May my desire be to make your name known and exalted. In Jesus' name, amen. Watch the Devotion Based on 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 Boasting is Good Over this past Christmas break our 16-year-old son asked me, “Dad, can I ask you a question – it's kind of off topic – but…. what are you proud of?” I had to think back on the 47 years of my life and talked about my marriage to my wife and the Christian home that we’ve tried to build. I told him I was proud of all our kiddos and the good friends they have chosen, the spouses that they’ve chosen – we have one son who is married to a dear faithful Christian woman. One of our daughters will be married this summer to a wonderful Christian man who will be a faithful leader in their home. I talked about the three congregations that I’ve served in my ministry, the new church building that that was constructed when I was there in Kentucky, the continuing education, the ministry to the military, all of it. When I talked about all these things with my son I had to stop and say, “Now listen, buddy. You have to realize that I am proud of these things but none of them are because of what I did. I just happened to be there. But I wouldn’t have been able to do any of those things unless God had worked through me to do it. And despite my pride in those moments – and there was pride at times – pride that I repented of… but I couldn’t really boast in those things and be proud of them because it wasn’t my wisdom, my intellect, or my strength. It was all Christ working through me.” What about you? What are you proud of? I know what some of you have accomplished. You have shared with me the things that you’ve done on deployments, the missions that you really can’t talk about where you saved lives or deterred the bad guys, when you’ve received commendations, your years of service. I have to give a shout out to General Johnny K. Davis who has been serving in the U.S. Army for 35 years. He’s the head of all recruiting in the U.S. Army – that's just “Wow!” None of the things that you accomplished in your lives is because of your efforts, your strength or your wisdom. And the most important accomplishment – your identity in Christ – is not really yours. Your faith in Christ is not really yours because it wasn’t initiated or finished by you. Listen to what the apostle Paul says: “Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: ‘Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord'” (1 Corinthians 1:26-31). You are strong. You are wise. You are righteous. You are holy. You are redeemed all because you are in Christ, who sought you out, who called you, who drew you close to himself. Boast in him. That's good boasting, because it puts the spotlight where it needs to be, on Christ. Prayer: Gracious God, you call not the strong or the wise by the world's measure, but sinners who have nothing to boast of except Christ crucified. In our callings as service members and families, keep us from trusting in rank, strength, or success, and ground us instead in your grace alone. When we feel weak or overlooked, remind us that our righteousness, holiness, and redemption are found in Jesus. Humble us under your Word, sustain us in our vocations, and teach us to boast only in the Lord; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen. Written and recorded by Rev. Paul Horn, WELS National Civilian Chaplain to the Military, San Diego, California. Famous Last Words #RTTBROS #Nightlight"Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." — Proverbs 27:1You know, history is full of ironic moments, but few are as sobering as the story of Major General John Sedgwick. He came from a family with a long military tradition, graduated from West Point, and served with distinction in the Mexican-American War. During the Civil War, he was twice wounded in battle, recovered, and was placed in charge of the VI Corps of the Army of the Potomac. In May of 1864, during the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Sedgwick was directing artillery placements when his troops came under fire from Confederate lines. The men began ducking for cover, and Sedgwick scolded them. "What? Men dodging this way for single bullets? What will you do when they open fire along the whole line? I am ashamed of you. They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance."Those were the last words Sedgwick ever spoke. Just seconds later, he was hit in the head and killed by a bullet. He became the highest-ranking Union officer to die during the Civil War.Now, I don't share that story to be morbid, but because it illustrates something we all struggle with. Sedgwick's confidence became presumption, and presumption is a dangerous thing.Solomon writes in Proverbs, "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." That's not pessimism, friend, that's wisdom. There's a world of difference between confidence and presumption. Confidence trusts in God's sovereignty. Presumption assumes we're in control. We make plans, and we should. We set goals, and that's good. But the moment we start talking like we know what tomorrow holds, we've crossed a line. James puts it this way: "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow" (James 4:13-14).I'm too soon old and too late smart about this one, but I've learned that life can change in a heartbeat. The job you thought was secure, the health you took for granted, the relationships you assumed would always be there, they can all shift before sunset. So what do we do? We hold our plans loosely and hold onto God tightly. We make our decisions with wisdom but recognize that ultimately, "a man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).Don't boast about tomorrow. Instead, trust the One who holds tomorrow in His hands.Let's pray: Father, forgive us when we presume to know what only You know. Help us walk humbly, plan wisely, but trust completely in Your sovereignty. Teach us to number our days and live with grateful hearts. In Jesus' name, Amen.#Faith #Wisdom #ChristianLiving #DailyDevotion #TrustGod #Humility #BiblicalWisdom #RTTBROS #NightlightBe sure to Like, Share, Follow and subscribe it helps get the word out.https://linktr.ee/rttbros

Earlier this year I ran across an opinion piece written in The Sydney Australia Morning Herald by author and mother of three, Kerri Sackville. The title of the piece was quite blunt, but it does capture our need to rethink how we as parents are using social media. Sackville's title reads, “Nobody wants to read those posts about how brilliant your kids are.” Sackville goes on to remind us that nobody likes to read a boast. Still, we are living on a social media landscape where we are prone to use pictures and text to boast about how smart and talented our kids are, especially when it comes to athletics, academics, and extracurricular activities. Christian parents are by no means immune to this, and I've even seen some boast about their evidences of their kids' faith. Parents, teach your kids to let their actions speak for themselves as they pursue excellence. And, with the Apostle Paul in second Corinthians ten seventeen, we all must say, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Proverbs 27:1 reads: "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." In other words, as we open our eyes to a new day each morning, we don't really know what the day holds for us. However, as believers in Christ, we do know who holds the day, and we can trust in His sovereignty. It's from that perspective that we present to you the testimony of Hannah Glass, a young girl simply living her life. She was a student at Maranatha Baptist University in Watertown, Wisconsin. She was getting ready to celebrate her 19th birthday, a day she wanted to celebrate by volunteering at Bearing Precious Seed, a Scripture publishing and distribution ministry in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. 2 day later, Hannah took a bite of a brownie that contained refined peanut flower and in less than a week, she was ushered into eternity. Today would have been Hannah's 20th birthday. Don't miss this edition of Crosstalk as David Glass, Hannah's father, presents more background concerning Hannah and the incident that took her life, the gift of life Hannah left behind, the lessons David and his wife have learned from this, the formation of the Hannah Helps ministry and more.

It’s natural to feel proud when we accomplish something—whether at work, school, or in our relationships. But Paul’s reminder to the church in Corinth, and in today's devotional and prayer, shifts our perspective: our successes are not our own, but the work of God through us. The Corinthians struggled with division and pride, boasting about their leaders and achievements. Paul called them back to the heart of the gospel—Christ alone. Our gifts, victories, and opportunities are not for our own glory but for God’s. When we boast in the Lord, we redirect praise where it belongs. This doesn’t mean ignoring our blessings, but rather using them as opportunities to magnify the grace, mercy, and love of God. True joy comes when we celebrate His work in us and through us. Your Daily Bible Reading: "Therefore, as it is written: 'Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.'” – 1 Corinthians 1:31 (NIV) Key Takeaways Everything good in us comes from God; our boasting should point to Him. Pride divides, but humility unites us as one body in Christ. Celebrating victories is good, but let’s shine the spotlight on God’s faithfulness. Boasting in the Lord helps us resist self-promotion and practice gratitude. Let’s Pray Together Heavenly Father, thank You for every blessing and gift You’ve given me. Forgive me when I let pride take the place of gratitude. Teach me to boast only in You, pointing others to Your goodness and mercy. May all I do bring glory and honor to Your name alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Today's guest built an 11-unit rental portfolio—starting in 2022, with high interest rates—and is cash flowing on each property. Fast forward three years, Justin now owns four properties totaling 11 rental units, and just quit his W2 job to focus his full-time efforts on his rentals. He did it all without putting a ton of money down and dealing with 7% interest rates on most of his properties. Still, he's making sizable cash flow, impressive return on equity numbers, and living for free. Today, he's breaking down his blueprint. In This Episode We Cover The small multifamily rentals that average investors can use to build massive wealth How to unlock monthly cash flow even with interest rates at 7% (or higher!)
