Good morning! Start your day with Go Birds! Daily, a daily Eagles podcast giving you everything you need to know for July 23rd. In today's episode Eliot Shorr-Parks previews the Los Angeles Rams, going over their strengths, weaknesses and debating how big of a threat they are to the Eagles. Presented by Ashley, America's number one furniture and mattress store.
The Rams are simply *destined* to be an offensive wagon in 2026. And the Cardinals have *no hope* of being good. Well, but maybe that's not true! We always convince ourselves we know exactly what will happen in the NFL before the season starts, and are always shocked by what we get wrong! So let's fall back on talent, and try not to get swayed *too* much by the August noise. That said, let's preview training camps for the teams of the NFC West -- because there certainly *are* stories that will matter and influence our fantasy football draft strategies! Who starts at left guard for the Detroit Lions in 2026? Detroit Lions left guard Christian Mahogany enters camp in pencil as the starter, but the job is open. He returned from injury late last season and did not lock down the role, and both Juice Scruggs and Ben Bartch will push him in a true competition. Mahogany has flashed the ability to be an effective NFL starter, but it will take more consistent performance and health to lock up the starting job in 2026. Newcomers Juice Scruggs and Ben Bartch are more experienced and also bring more positional versatility to the Lions' den. Then there are some wild cards who could also enter the mix, though more likely as reserve options than as true threats to be the Week 1 starter at left guard. Those include Miles Frazier and Giovanni Manu, as well as veteran Colby Sorsdal, who missed all of 2025 with an injury but took lots of reps in minicamp. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #lionstrainingcamp #christianmahogany #juicescruggs #benbartch #leftguardcompetition #passprotectionvspressure #dancampbellstandard #sixsacksallowed #27pressures #pass-blockingefficiency95.8 #run-blockgrade91.1 Learn more about your ad choices.
