In this episode, Zach Shaw and Alejandro Zuniga break down the Michigan men's basketball team's record-setting regular season, which included a program record for wins, a Big Ten record for conference wins and the best road record in the Wolverines' history. They also look ahead to the postseason for Michigan. They open with a reflection on Michigan's 29-2 start, as they discuss the most impressive parts of the Wolverines' season so far. They then pick out games that were particularly emblematic of Michigan's dominance, and look at which players exceeded expectations the most. In the second half of the episode, they turn their attention to Michigan's postseason, discussing the biggest reasons the Wolverines can make a run, and the biggest potential hurdles Michigan must avoid. Andy and Brendan are LIVE outside TPC Sawgrass at The Players Championship and ready to review a full day of scuttlebutt, course scouting, and player assessments. They begin with some notes on a Sawgrass setup looking like an attempt to push the pros around in a major-like fashion, supporting the campaign to make this tournament a “major.” Then they discuss Five Guys to Monitor, and not monitor with their worst tee times of the first two days (along with some of their favorites). The also preview what Brian Rolapp might say in his first big address at his first Players, and how few people on site seem to know precisely what is coming but it is the most-discussed subject so far. Will we get a scarcity schedule? Will we get a mule purge? Are the players re-asserting their control over the new regime and Tour structure? Then they hit on some storylines no one is talking about this week, including the LIV Singapore Champions dinner. Finally, they bring in the boys, PJ Clark and Joseph LaMagna, and offer some further notes from the ground before closing with their official picks to win. Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return to the microphones with a little twist to their typical format as they take on previews for USC's upcoming 2026 spring camp, which begins on Tuesday. Part 2 takes on the defense. The boys of Helium skip on the pleasantries and jump straight into the spring preview of the defensive side in the following order: specialists, defensive tackles, defensive ends, linebackers, cornerbacks and safeties. USC's defense is full of questions as Hall of Fame head coach Gary Patterson takes over the coordinator duties. Though he uses a similar 4-2-5 defense to what the Trojans frequently used under former defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn, what personnel will Patterson prefer and utilize in each of those 11 defensive positions. That's one of the things that makes this spring so intriguing as we yearn to decipher exactly what Patterson and his defensive coaching staff may be looking for from each position. The spring defense also presents some interesting opportunities for some of the youngsters, including the freshman from the No. 1-ranked recruiting class, because of some injuries that will keep some expected starters from being full participants. Who will step up amongst the young players? And who will show the biggest improvements from the returners? Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino return to the microphones with a little twist to their typical format as they take on previews for USC's upcoming 2026 spring camp, which begins on Tuesday. Part 1 takes on the offense. That doesn't stop them doing their traditional opening the Two-Minute Drill. Chris uses his Two-Minute Drill to fire back at some of the NFL Twitter criticisms of USC wide receiver Makai Lemon during his media interviews. Shotgun uses his TMD to shine some light on No. 25 USC Baseball, which improved to 11-0 on the season with an 8-6 win over Cal Poly. The boys of Helium then jump into the spring preview in the following order: quarterbacks, running back, tight ends, wide receivers, offensive line and kickers. USC has potentially another high-powered offense coming back with starting QB Jayden Maiava, five returning starters on the offensive line and two of the best Big Ten running backs in King Miller and Waymond Jordan. The offense will be looking to replace its top two wide receivers and tight ends, including Biletnikoff Award winner Lemon. The Detroit Lions Podcast lit the fuse on NFL Combine week with real news and real stakes. On Bish & Brown, Scott Bischoff, Russell Brown, and Chris reacted in real time to Taylor Decker signaling Year 11, then zeroed in on what the combine means for Detroit and this draft class. Decker's Year 11 and What It Means at Tackle Mid-show, Decker posted “Year 11” with a tunnel photo. The room shifted. His return stabilizes left tackle and the Lions' core up front. It does not end the draft conversation at offensive tackle. The hosts said pick 17 could still be in play, citing Monroe Fraley out of Georgia as a target they have championed. Depth, succession planning, and premium position value keep the door open. Trent Williams chatter framed the urgency earlier. Decker's post clarified the baseline: Detroit can build from strength instead of scrambling at a cornerstone spot. Defense on the Clock, Injuries in View The offseason remains complex. The discussion turned to veterans like Graham Glasgow and David Montgomery, and the ripple effects of injuries on defense. The Lions may not have Kirby Joseph or Ryan Branch to start the year. That uncertainty shapes free agency and draft priorities. The hosts stressed that this week is a launch point, not a finish line. Decisions on defense will hinge on medical timelines and what value appears after the combine testing and interviews. Combine Week: Drills, Data, and Day-Two Targets This is a true preview. Not every prospect will run or test. Some will skip the 40 yard dash. Others will pass on bag drills or the three cone drill. The hosts plan to stack 10 to 12 players each, from top names to day two guys, and let the tape and testing meet in the middle. Thursday will reveal who works and who waits for pro day. Spotlight: Jeremiah Love's Rare Movement Skills Potentially the top player in the draft depending on who you ask, Notre Dame running back Jeremiah Love drew a long look. One host admitted there is no path to Detroit for him, but the evaluation matters. Love is different. Lateral quickness. Smooth stride. He glides and explodes. He was used more down the field in the passing game this year and looks like a three down, workhorse type. The measurables feel secondary because the movement is so clean, but the compare-and-contrast on change of direction against this running back class will be telling. He is viewed as far and away the superior runner in the group. That context helps calibrate the board for where the Lions do shop on days two and three. #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #nflscoutingcombine #taylordeckeryear11 #trentwilliamsbuzz #grahamglasgow #davidmontgomery #kirbyjosephinjury #ryanbranchinjury #daytwoguys #40yarddash #threeconedrill #bagdrills #jeremiahlovenotredame #offensivetackleatpick17 #monroefraleygeorgia Learn more about your ad choices.
