This week's Litecast went a little longer than usual but with good reason, as CyHusker himself Matt Nelson made his triumphant return to talk brand new fatherhood, lack of sleep, and his daughter's early impressions of special teams. Now that the Big 12 has officially adopted the "9+1" scheduling model for 2020, we talked a lot about our expectations for Iowa State football this fall. We also broke down which non-conference game is likely to stay on the schedule, and how Iowa State may stand to benefit from the shortened season. From there, we got to discuss the long-awaited return of the NBA and our early impressions of the bubble, and an honorary Brooklyn Nets Minute after the huge upset they pulled. We talk which teams have impressed, and which have left something to be desired, as well as what's going on with Luka Doncic and Zion's minutes restriction. The basketball talk naturally transitions to gambling, and the guys discuss the trends they are following with the NBA in full swing and baseball still happening at the moment. Thanks to Es Tas for sponsoring!
We decided to record a little bit of a different version of the Litecast for your weekend listening pleasure. CYHusker, Ryan, and Austin were joined by Matt, an avid sports fan from the land of the Cornhuskers, to help engage in some awesome conversations about Fred Hoiberg, the Husker fan mentality, and to share some insight on Nebraska’s place in the Big 10 vs its role in the Big 12.Additionally, the return of the NBA season was discussed, including title odds for each team and a discussion on which sleeper teams may have a shot of knocking off the favorites in both the East and West. The crew also briefly discussed the goings-on in Iowa City and across college football, and wondered aloud at where the conversation goes from its current state.
Professional sports are (almost) back! And boy, are we ready for them.In this episode of the Litecast, CYHusker, Austin, and Ryan entered into a robust discussion about the NBA's plans for returning, and discussed the NHL's recently announced blueprint for a return to playoff hockey. The Match part 2 was also discussed, and the gang had fun picking who they would like to see in a Match part 3.There was also (thankfully) a bevy of Cyclone-related topics to discuss, which included the genius of Jamie Pollard, the decision to move forward with a limited capacity, and the commitment of Jalen Coleman-Lands.An all-time ISU Basketball Heels draft closed out the podcast, complete with many names you will undoubtedly be familiar with.
In this episode of the Litecast, CYHusker, Ryan, Austin, and Dylan but a lengthy bow on a popular and somewhat controversial at times documentary on Michael Jordan, which included picking winners and losers, trying to understand the psyche of MJ, and a discussion on what we would have changed about the docu-series.The crew also discussed the current sports that have resumed play, and more importantly, which of these sports are you most likely to bet on? A discussion on the return of sports everywhere was entertained as well, though prospects still do not look all that rosy for a timely return of professional sports.
In the latest installment of the Wide Right & Natty Litecast, CYHusker and Mathias did their best to talk about Iowa State.Though they found that task to be rather arduous, an interesting discussion on running style and the improvement of the offensive line did break out. Bold football predictions were also given, including one for Brock Purdy that would be incredibly fascinating to watch play out in 2019.In addition, Matthias and CYHusker broke down the NBA Finals, and shed light on the spooky-looking inflatable Toronto Raptor mascot. Also discussed was the new basketball at a certain team located in southeast Nebraska, as well as the differences in recruiting to Ames and that certain capital city in the state to our immediate west.
The WRNL cast is back, and boy do we have a wonderful podcast for you.In this weeks edition, CYHusker, Matthias, and Jake Brend discussed the signings of Rasir Bolton and Darren Wilson, and how both players fit on their respective rosters. The crew discussed dad jokes and TV shows before Jar_Lar joined and truly derailed the podcast, as only he can.

This year’s version should be rather interesting, as two Wednesday night teams have something to play for and a few teams have a good chance of wining the whole shebang.

So it's been a while since the guys got together and did a regular podcast. This time it's just RevDizz and CyHusker to soothe your ears with some smooth conversation about the ISU season thus far. We skip the traditional in-depth analysis that we're so well known for and decide to leave that to those smarter than us. Instead RevDizz challenges CyHusker with a series of questions that relate to the Cyclones 2015-16 season, and yes, even touch a little on the Virginia game. Where else can you go for hard hitting answers to questions like "Are you pro or anti One Shining Moment?" and "What's a good sitcom comparison for the pace and style of the Virginia-Iowa State matchup?". All of this and more on this edition of the Wide Right Natty Light We Still Booze Podcast. I don't care that you're probably listening to this during working hours, and I'm almost 20% sure your boss doesn't care either. So grab a daytime beverage, kick back and relax because the Sweet 16 is here and Iowa State is still dancing!
