KFOR Morning Sports Update 2-16-26 with Jeff Motz.
Sam McKewon and Evan Bland talk about the what ifs from former Nebraska athletic director Bill Moos' new book and Husker basketball seeding.
The Omaha World-Herald's Wilson Moore and Jon Walker talk how the Huskers, at No. 7, can stay on track and react to Creighton's loss to DePaul.
The Huskers do it again! A weird, kind of bad half, and then they run away with it, beating Northwestern 68-49. But before the good, the guys dissect the unusual turnover-fest, where the Huskers through basically the same amount of interceptions in one 10-minute stretch of basketball as Aaron Rodgers did the entire 2025 NFL season. And while Rienk Mast seemed completely recovered from his illness a week ago against Rutgers, he had a hard time of it today. The guys try to identify how much of that had to do with a minor pregame injury and evaluate their level of concern. But, like beautiful Spring morning, the sun rose in the second half as Nebraska held Northwestern to 15 points over the last 17ish minutes of the game. Kaleb identifies the key adjustments Nebraska made to turn the tide and how Sam's defense turned into Pryce points (was that a "quiet" 29?). And meanwhile… was this Cale Jacobsen's best ever game at Nebraska? Are we victims of recency bias? It's a Split Vote on the Ryan Anderson Memorial (he's not dead) MVP award; you tell us if Jack or Kaleb was right! Finally, another wet spot on the floor, the lights randomly going out, more stories from Kaleb at PBA, an oddly favorable Big Ten Tourney situation that may be developing, and a look ahead to a late night roadie to Iowa on Tuesday. The Nebrasketball Hour is proudly sponsored by Nebraska Realty! Matt asks if Nebrasketball can raise their resume before the end of the regular season, the quest to stay on the 2-seed line, and onto Husker Football we look at the failed recruiting classes of Matt Rhule.
We preview this weekend's opening slate for Nebraska Baseball, the rotation, the teams they'll meet this weekend, and whether or not the Huskers can host a regional.
Greg opens the show in classic chaotic fashion, introducing Minnie Hunt and newly “promoted from the group chat” co-host Fred Sacco while accidentally throwing random images on screen. The conversation immediately derails into a surprisingly gourmet debate about breakfast pizza: Fred's version features bacon, egg, herb Havarti, dill, and green onion on a bakery sourdough crust from Omaha; Greg counters with a fully homemade crust (rolled out with a Louisville Slugger), smoked cheddar, bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs. Minnie is offended she wasn't included in the earlier breakfast-pizza “cabal,” then tries to steer them toward “fruit pizza,” triggering friendly mockery and more donut-and-gas-station talk (including Casey's breakfast pizza snobbery). The show pivots to Bill Moos' book The Crab Creek Chronicles, where Moos describes heavy meddling around the Scott Frost hire, claims Frost wasn't eager for the job, and allegedly asked Moos to convince the team to play the 2020 bowl. They also touch on Moos exploring a return to the Big XII, and debate how fans, boosters, and administrators “run the zoo.” Later, they cover Nebraska's two NFL Combine invites, discuss Rhule being quieter lately, and worry about special teams continuity post-Ekeler. They recap strong Nebraska basketball despite an overtime loss to Purdue, joke that Minnie is “bad luck” when she watches, preview baseball's Desert Classic, then close with a “blind rankings” game of iconic Husker moments, housekeeping, and playful Wisconsin “besmirching.”
We get an update on Husker Hoops from BC and find out his Monopoly token of choice.
Sounds like the Husker Hoops head coach is a Debbie Downer over the themed nights. Husker fan Mike Schaefer has takes on the promotion nighs.

-The rumor is now true, as UNL confirmed the Spring game will be March 28 th at 11am. It's not surprising news as we hadexpected it but now it is official. There will also be Husker baseball and softball that day starting at 2pm…-March 28 th is also right when the Elite 8 is in the NCAA Tournament—which is fun to think about but dangerous when you aretrying to do something never done in program history which is in a single game in the Dance…but are fans still dreaming abouta deep run or are they down? Our Sponsors:* Check out BetterHelp: https://www.betterhelp.comAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
