I'm Vincent Price, or I'm the employee at Tragic the Gathering who has the best Vincent Price impression. It's Halloween here in Lake Town City, when all the monsters come out with one last hurrah before they pull on their winter coats for the next six months. The "Great Masque of the Read Death" party is happening in the backroom of Tragic. But, you know, “Red” isn't the color, it's the past tense of “read.” And the proprietors have a special edition book for everyone's gift bag at the party: a partially canonical edition of SLaM: the adventures of Moxie, Agent Smith and Futureproof. That means a group of friends create a story together, chapter by chapter, that takes us beyond the tabletop to parts unknown. In the first campaign, we explored fantasy adventure, intrigue, magic, and drama. In the newest story, we tackle science, superpowers, a better future, and the responsibility to help others. Every month, we sit down for the Afterparty, where we break down our game and answer your questions about how to play D&D and other roleplaying games at home. We also have segments at the beginning of each campaign to teach people how to play the game themselves. It’s a party, and you’re invited! Find out more at jointhepartypod.com.
God doesn't call us to find a power within ourselves to overcome the issues we face in this life. He calls us to put on His armour because we're facing a battle. And His weapons aren't silly spiritual suggestions that might or might not work. His weapons are certain. Eph. 6:13-18

When the devil knocks: who's there?
He's mastered shame and trademarked embarrassment. His lies wound, and his accusations sting. He'll build up your pride just to throw you down. Yes, the devil is strong, but there's one power he can't beat—and it's on your side. Learn how to answer When the Devil Knocks. By the end of this series, attenders will have two main takeaways: awareness that we have an enemy looking to take us out every day, and confidence that we have the tools to fight from victory instead of for it.

THE DESTROYER - When The Devil Knocks, Part 3 - 11.03.19Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 NLTSatan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:1But Joab did not include Levi and Benjamin in the numbering, because the king’s command was repulsive to him. 7 This command was also evil in the sight of God; so he punished Israel. 1 Chronicles 21:6-7… “I have sinned against the Lord.” … 2 Samuel 12:13 “I have sinned greatly by doing this…” 1 Chronicles 21:8 THE DEADLY SIN OF PRIDEYOU MAY NEVER BE MORE VULNERABLE THAN WHEN YOU ARE FULL OF PRIDE.But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. … 2 Chronicles 26:16Pride precedes destruction; an arrogant spirit appears before a fall. Proverbs 16:18 ISV… “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you ... 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. James 4:6-8, 10

Satan means "accuser." He ignores our identity in Christ and defines us by our past. He accuses us to tear us down. But Jesus is our advocate. He defends us and speaks on our behalf. Jesus was the only Righteous one. Through him, we can find a new identity and safety from Satan's accusations.

Perhaps you've heard the phrase "armour of God" before. But do you really know what it means? In this week's episode, pastor Dan breaks down the significance of the equipment God gives you to stand against the enemy's attacks.
THE ACCUSER - When The Devil Knocks, Part 2 - 10.27.19 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 NLTSatan is the DECEIVER who attacks your mind with lies. Satan is the DESTROYER who attacks your will with pride.Satan is the ACCUSER who attacks your heart with accusations.… no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you … Isaiah 54:17 NLTTHE ACCUSERThen I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. Revelation 12:10When the devil talks to you about God, he lies. When the devil talks to you about you, he accuses. Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him. 2 The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?” 3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. Zechariah 3:1-3 The devil is the accuser.Jesus is your advocate. My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. 1 John 2:1 NLTThe angel said to those who were standing before him,“Take off his [Joshua’s] filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.” Zechariah 3:4Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by. 6 The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua: 7 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here. Zechariah 3:5-7The devil knows your name but calls you by your sin.God knows your sin but calls you by your name. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5

Everything good in your life is from God, and Satan wants to destroy it. Satan hates your physical existence and will do whatever he can to end you. But we are not defenseless against him. God has given us a weapon that will make us capable of withstanding whatever Satan tries to destroy.

As followers of Jesus, we need to be prepared for the attacks of our enemy the Devil. He hates Jesus Christ, he hates God the Father, he hates the Holy Spirit and he hates the people of God. He will do all He can to "kill, steal and destroy". He is a destroyer, a liar, and a thief. The Good News is the Word of God teaches us what to do when the enemy attacks us. Sometimes His attacks start with a little knock on the door of our hearts. In this message, Brian teaches what we need to do when the devil comes knocking on our door. We pray this message is an inspiration and encouragement to you. God bless you!
Pride makes us vulnerable, so the devil is eager to use it to destroy our lives. You know the proverb: “Pride goes before the fall.” Learn how to avoid this trap in Week 3 of When the Devil Knocks, with Pastor Craig Groeschel.
