Sermon podcast from the Three Chopt Church of Christ in Richmond, Virginia. We are a family of believers united in Christ, saved by grace, seeking the heart of Jesus, and sharing His Good News in Richmond and throughout the world.

Every human life is sacred because it carries the breath of God. You are called to see others not by their failures, usefulness, or circumstances, but as image bearers formed by God and deeply valued by Him.

Jesus is not only about reading Scripture, praying, and attending services, but about allowing your relationship with Christ to transform your daily actions and relationships.

Faith begins with commitment, grows through Scripture, prayer, and trust, and produces fruit through service and disciple making. Deep spiritual roots help believers remain steady during hardship, resist false ideas, and reflect Christ's character.

God speaks through His Word, the Holy Spirit, and wise counsel, but obedience requires humility and trust. We should enter the new year with attentive hearts, willing to listen carefully and follow God fully rather than selectively, even when obedience is difficult.

Joy is not something people must manufacture, but something received by trusting Christ. We should not treat Christmas as tradition alone, but to personally receive Jesus, trust Him with our lives, and share this message of salvation with others who need hope.

Can God be truly be trusted, especially when life brings disappointment, unanswered prayers, or long seasons of waiting? Yes. We should bring hardest our doubts to God, remember past faithfulness, and trust Him patiently in the present, even when outcomes are unclear, because God is near, compassionate, and faithful.

Revelation is not meant to scare believers or predict disaster but to reassure them that God is in control and actively renewing the world. Jesus has already won, and because of that, believers can live with confidence, endurance, and purpose.

God is the one who keeps believers from falling, even as they are called to “contend for the faith.” Jude warns against false teachers who twist grace into permission for immoral living and lead others astray, not only through wrong teaching but through unfaithful lives. We must build our lives on the foundation of Jesus, stay devoted to prayer, remind one another of God's love, and live with the hope of Christ's return.

3 John focuses on how Christians are called to live out their faith through consistent, humble service to others. Christians are challenged to answer God's ongoing call to faithful service, living out truth through everyday actions that demonstrate love and humility.

2 John teaches that faith is believing in God and actively walking with Him in daily life. Life with God often includes struggles and uncertainty, yet those challenges are opportunities for spiritual growth. True Christian love is rooted in truth. It's not about being “nice,” but about living and loving as Jesus did, with obedience, forgiveness, and unity.

1 John was written to help Christians move from doubt to confidence in their relationship with God. Many people struggle with insecurity about whether they are “good enough” or truly saved, but John teaches that our confidence comes from what Jesus has done, not from our own performance.

Suffering is not pointless - God uses it to refine faith, strengthen believers, and reveal His grace to the world. Believers are called to trust that suffering is part of God's refining process, shaping them to be more like Jesus and testifying of Him to others.

It isn't our good behavior that makes us right with God. God has saved us. God is the one Who has made us holy and our lives are a reflection of who He has made us to be.

If we as the church want to see God, we look at Jesus. If the world today wants to see God, they are to look at the church.

Our God is a God Who forgives. If God is a forgiving god, His people need to be people who forgive.

God wants much from you than one hour a week attendance. And in return to experience the life that you don't yet have. A life that only Jesus can give...an abundant life of blessings that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
