Nobody expected Jesus to resurrect. And yet in his resurrection appearances to Mary, Thomas, and Peter, Jesus doesn't shame them or ridicule them for their lack of understanding and belief. He meets them where they are with what they need. Can you see yourself in one of their stories and let Jesus find you in your story? Let's look at three stories.
Celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ—His victory over sin and death and the living hope we have because the tomb is empty. Rejoice in the unshakable hope found in Him. This message was preached by Pastor Erick Cobb on April 5, 2026.
Hello and thank you for joining us! At Gospel Community Church we teach the Bible line by line, verse by verse. In this week's sermon, Pastor Kirk McDonald pauses our Genesis study to look at a moment in history when Jesus appeared to the disciples AFTER His death and burial. This text explains how Jesus meets us where we are, provides generously for us, and how His unfathomable power has restored us to an eternity with Him forever - despite our sins and failures.

Send us Fan MailIn this powerful Easter message, Pastor Todd Reynolds challenges us to move beyond simply believing in the resurrection to actually living in its reality. Centered on Jesus' declaration in John 11—“I am the resurrection and the life”—this sermon reframes Easter as more than a historical event or future hope. It is a present, transforming reality available right now. Using the story of Lazarus, Pastor Todd highlights the difference between Martha's belief in a future resurrection and Jesus' invitation to experience resurrection life in the present. Too often, we settle for what he calls an “Easter-less conversion”—a faith that believes the facts but lacks the power of personal transformation. The result? A life of going through the motions rather than experiencing new life in Christ. This message presses a crucial question:Do you believe in Easter, or have you discovered it?Drawing from Romans and 2 Corinthians, the sermon emphasizes that resurrection life begins the moment we encounter Jesus. Even as our outward lives face challenges and decay, inwardly we are being renewed day by day. Resurrection is not something that waits for death—it is something that begins now, bringing new life, new hope, and new transformation from the inside out.Pastor Todd calls listeners to shift from “if only” thinking (looking back with regret) to “what if” faith—embracing the reality that Jesus is present and active today, bringing the power of the future into our current circumstances.Key Takeaways:Easter is not just something to believe—it's something to experience.Resurrection is not an event; it is a person—Jesus Christ.Eternal life doesn't start when you die; it starts when you meet Jesus.God is actively bringing new life into what feels dead right now.The invitation of Easter is not just belief—but transformation. This Easter message is a call to stop settling for less and to step into the full, life-changing reality of resurrection—right here, right now.Bottom line:Jesus isn't just offering life someday. He's offering life today.Shady Grove Info Click here for more https://www.shadygrove.net/events FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/ShadyGroveWesleyanChurch
Where do we find comfort in disbelief?
As we consider Mary, John and Thomas, and how they all responded to the empty tomb, let us ask ourselves… What do I believe?
Main Text: John 20:19-31 Supporting Text: John 20:1-18
In a world that still knows grief, uncertainty, and longing, Easter reminds us that resurrection often meets us in the places of sorrow and surprise. In John 20:1-18, we find Mary standing at the tomb, weeping, only to discover that Jesus is not absent, but alive and calling her by name. Easter invites us to open ourselves to the hope that God is still bringing new life out of what feels lost, and still meeting us in deeply personal and transformative ways.

Easter Sunday - John 20:1-18 “Resurrection Ramifications”Series: John Preacher: Will SpinkSunday MorningDate: 20th April 2025Passage: John 20:1-18
Mary Magdalene comes to the tomb in grief, seeking Jesus—but a dead Jesus. As she weeps, He stands before her, asking the same question heard at His arrest: “Whom do you seek?” She seeks a body, but finds the risen Lord. In an instant, sorrow turns to joy as Jesus calls her by name. The one who drank the cup of suffering now stands victorious over death. He is not just alive—He is sending His followers into the world. “As the Father sent me, so I send you.” Whom do you seek? A memory? A historical figure? Or the living Jesus, who brings peace, power, and purpose? The empty tomb calls us to see, believe, and go tell the world.
