Gape in wonder at the Gaming Hut as beloved Patreon backer Steve Hammond asks how one might emulate the awe of the Jurassic Park dinosaur reveal scene at the gaming table. Well-traveled backers Ed Sizemore and Rafael Pabst journey to the Cartography Hut for the story of fictive medieval travel writer John Mandeville. The Monster […]
This is a little late in recording and release but THE Ed Sizemore comes out of retirement to talk about the career of Adam West, we highlight The Outer Limits, Batman: The Movie, and Batman: The Animated Series.
This time DM and Vinnie are joined by friend of the show Ed Sizemore to talk about some of the lesser known Rankin-Bass Christmas Specials, Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey, The Leprechaun's Christmas Gold, The Stingiest Man in Town, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, and Rudolph's Shiny New Year.
It takes 4 nerds to do the work of one Diego. So Vinnie called in Ink from Otaku USA, Ani-Gamers, and Fandom Post, Ed Sizemore from Twitter, Kory Cerjak from Fandom Post and Taiiku Podcast, and Bradley Meek from Twitter to talk about some currently running TV and anime.
Ed Sizemore and VinceA continue to stick around on All Geeks Considered to talk about the 1982 classic directed by John Milius Conan the Barbarian!

For years we have languished under the oppression of our ANNCast overlords, who refuse to even record a podcast at the East Coast’s largest anime convention, Otakon. So, with the help of our fearless captain Ed Sizemore, an intrepid team of Otakon pirate podcasters — including yours truly — have hijacked the Anime News Network‘s popular podcast to talk about Otakon 2012. Unfortunately the audio recording is one iteration away from Alvin Lucier’s “I am sitting in a room,” but I guess it’s in keeping with the pirate theme. Show notes and links after the break. DIRECT DOWNLOAD – RSS Feed – iTunes – Send us Feedback! – More episodes (Runtime: 43 minutes) [0:00:00] Intro: “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)” [0:00:16] Everybody introduces themselves. First off is Justin Sevakis (@worldofcrap), our captive ANNCast host and the founder of Anime News Network. Then there’s Michael Camacho (@GNitro) and Scott Spaziani (@ScottSpaziani) from Otaku in Review, The Big N (@TheBigN) from Drastic My Anime Blog, Alain Mendez (@hisuiRT) from the Reverse Thieves, Ani-Gamers’ own Evan Minto (@VamptVo), and Daniel Briscoe (@DanielBriscoe) from Eastern Image. Ed Sizemore (@edsizemore) from the Manga Out Loud podcast forgot to introduce himself, but he’s hosting. [0:18:12] We discuss the city of Baltimore and the weather (seriously). [0:21:33] Otakon culture! The infamous Ice Cold Water guy! Memes! [0:30:32] How safe is Baltimore? It has a reputation as a pretty dangerous city. [0:34:44] We talk about nearby restaurants, the huge number of attendees at Otakon, and their effect on the Baltimore economy. [0:41:05] Justin drops some final comments about the con before we close out the show. [0:43:25] Outro: “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me)”

Hosts: Evan "Vampt Vo" Minto, Frederik L. Schodt (jai2.com), Ed Sizemore (mangaworthreading.com) Topic: Comparison of all versions of the Astro Boy story "The Greatest Robot on Earth" (original manga, 60s anime, 1980 anime, 2003 anime, and Pluto manga) In a last-ditch effort to release a podcast for Osamu Tezuka Month, I recorded this episode with manga translator Fred Schodt (author of The Astro Boy Essays, translator of Astro Boy and Pluto) and manga reviewer Ed Sizemore (Manga Worth Reading), featuring an in-depth discussion of the Astro Boy story "The Greatest Robot on Earth" and all of the adaptations thereof. The episode was quite long and I wanted to get something out before the end of the month, so this is only the first part of the show. In it, we only get to two of our discussion topics: Astro's fateful decision to increase his horsepower and the dichotomy between the philosophies and depictions of Dr. Ochanomizu and Dr. Tenma. In addition, there's a quick announcement of an Ani-Gamers Podcast contest at the end of the episode, so stick around to find out how to win some fabulous Tezuka-themed prizes, courtesy of Vertical, Inc.
