Nintendo of America will not drop DEI like other corporations have, according to CEO Doug Bowser. Does this mean The Big N will push a "woke agenda" or will Nintendo of Japan slap them down? Will it matter to players if they do or don't? Will it affect Switch sales? Will Daisy and Peach finally hook up? Inquiring minds want to know! The Nintendo Entertainment Podcast is here, and while there are a bunch of news pieces to get to, there's also some venting to do! First, the team discusses their gaming exploits. Todd has continued his journey in Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition and discusses the finer points of his review. Scott has been enjoying Clair Obscur Expedition 33, Infinity Nikki, and more! As for Will, he's gone back to Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, Marvel Rivals, and FEH! Then, as the team goes into the news, the Nintendo Switch 2 has had a new plethora of information come out, from game download sizes to title specs, creator voice interviews, and more! Additionally, Monolith Soft is asking for new recruits, The Pokémon Center has some VERY pricey Eeveelution plushies to pre-order, Ace Attorney almost didn't get a second game, and so much more. Finally, in the main event, there's been some unnecessary hate thrown at Nintendo due to certain other news reveals, and the guys are going to defend The Big N's honor! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast!
? Falls Ihr eine Meinung habt? Teilt sie uns mit. Number 970Is this the most insane week Nintendo has ever been through? From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows...and then somehow things got even worse! We cover the Switch 2 Direct from top to bottom, highlight every controversy, talk about the horrendous decisions Nintendo has to make and so much more. It's a wild time to be a Big N fan, and things are only going to get more crazy from here!
Nintendo can't seem to do wrong these days, and its press unveiling of the Switch 2 should have been another glorious moment for the golden company. But just when everything seemed perfect, the Big N got greedy: expensive games, blank game cards, upgrade fees, and iffy backwards compatibility is killing a lot of that consumer goodwill. Should people buy a Switch 2 at launch...or wait for Nintendo to gain some common sense? Please visit www.lostnostalgia.com for everything vintage, curious, and weirdly overlooked. Thanks to Decktonic for the opening/closing tune.

This week on the Pure Nintendo Podcast, Jemma, Kirk, and Trev continue counting down to the April 2 Nintendo Direct set to be focused on the Switch 2. This week's discussion: who will host this special edition of the Nintendo Direct? Our money is on Miyamoto, but who else? Plus we discuss the latest news, from supermarket chains and their legal battles with the Big N to the latest tunes to hit Nintendo Music. We're also playing a wide variety of games including the roguelite stylings of Ravenswatch, the tough platforming of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, the retro athletics of Accolade Sports Collection, and the quirky Lemmings-like outing, Moons of Darsalon. The Nintendo Entertainment Podcast is here, and with most of the gaming world focusing still on the Nintendo Switch 2, the team will have much to discuss! First, the team reveals their latest gaming exploits! Scott has been playing a LOT of games, including the pirate adventure Phantom Brave Lost Hero, Hyper Light Breaker, and even Assassin's Creed Shadows! As for Will, he's continued to dive into Marvel Rivals (he's addicted, folks!), FEH and more. Todd has reached the final phase of Metaphor ReFantazio, and it's led to certain "feelings" within him! Then, in the news, the Nintendo Switch 2 has continued to dominate the news cycle, with people leaking things still, and The Big N's stock skyrocketing! Also, Moon Studios wants Banjo-Kazooie back, Dragon Quest 3 and Super Mario Party Jamboree were huge hits in Japan in 2024, and could the Nintendo Switch get "one last big title?" Finally, in the main event, the trio look at the first year of the Nintendo Switch 2 and predict what franchises might show up in it! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast!

The Nintendo Entertainment Podcast is here, and while the Direct is in the past, the future is still something to discuss! First up, the team discusses their gaming exploits! Both Todd and Scott have been enjoying the Kingdom Hearts saga, and note the different ways they've been playing it! Scott and Will have been enjoying Shin Megami Tensei V and love how much the game improves on the original version! Hint: they REALLY like the differences in the new canon. Then, in the news, Nintendo had a big shareholders meeting and dropped a ton of information on the crew that they need to sift through! What is The Big N doing to stop the leaks that have plagued them recently? Are they prepping new IPs for the Switch 2? What is Miyamoto's current role in Nintendo? You'll find out here! Also, a new Splatfest, Metroid Prime 4 is being made by all-stars, and more! Finally, in the main event, the team looks at the future of console hardware and discusses what they feel should be the way that Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft should progress! Apoie o UP no Orelo: clique aqui! Nintendo loves remaking and remastering its ancient games, including the 2024 rerelease of Mario vs. Donkey Kong. But with all the reboots and redos, why doesn't the Big N bring back the ape's best--the Game Boy's phenomenal Donkey Kong '94? Isn't it time to revisit this tragically neglected classic? Please visit www.lostnostalgia.com for more critical thought and retrospection on all things vintage. Thanks to Decktonic for the music.
For nearly 29 years, Charles Martinet had provided Nintendo's Super Mario with his iconic voice. All the "wahoos" and "mama mias" came courtesy of the actor's style and invention. In a very real sense, Martinet was Mario; he'd become the face of the world-recognized star. And that, perhaps, was exactly the problem. In 2023, The Big N "retired" Martinet in favor of an unknown performer with little experience...leaving fans sad and plenty baffled. Why did Nintendo drop its long-running celebrity? The reasons are one of jealousy and money; as this episode explores, no servant shall rise above his master. Please visit www.lostnostalgia.com for more critical thought and retrospection on all things vintage. Thanks to Decktonic for the music.
The Nintendo Entertainment Podcast is here and ready to welcome you to the new year, whether you like it or not! But first, the guys talk about the games they played at the end of 2023 and the start of 2024! Todd continues his quest through Baldur's Gate 3 and continues to enjoy it! Then, Will talks about Splatoon 3 and...Powerwash Simulator? Okay then. As for Scott, he, too, has been in BG3 and has been playtesting a controller! Then, in the news, Shigeru Miyamoto doesn't have plans to retire, but Hideki Kamiya has plans to work still! Also, Mario has had some news in many ways: the Nintendo Switch successor continues to get weird rumors about what it will and won't be, Nintendo is VERY strict with their development secrets and more! Finally, it's time for the 8th Annual Nintendo Draft! The trio of Nintendo kings will break down their predictions of what they think The Big N will do in 2024! They're hoping to get good scores this time around, so tune in to see what they pick! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast!
The Nintendo Entertainment Podcast is here! And with 2023 coming to a close, the guys will send the podcast year out in style! But first! The trio of Nintendo Kings discusses their final gaming exploits of the year! Will boasts and laments the "wonders" of playing gacha titles because of course, he does! As for Scott, he beat the Gotham Knights game (and blasts the TV series) and gives his final thoughts on it. He also tried Final Fantasy: Strangers In Paradise once again! As for Todd, he finally started Baldur's Gate 3 and he's having a blast! And not just because of Karlach. Then, the guys will dive into everything that Nintendo has done and hasn't done in 2023! What were the highs? What were the lows? What were the surprises that they didn't expect? What would they "grade" the Big N for the year that was? Tune in and find out! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast...for one last time in 2023!
The gang discusses two papers that look at... well... let's be honest here... we really didn't have much of a hook. You see, James was slammed with bureaucratic work, Curt was knee deep in grading hell, and Amanda was traveling for the holidays. So we made... this; a podcast about a worm and a lamprey. We're sorry. Up-Goer Five (Curt Edition): The friends look at two papers about animals that are long with no legs. The first paper looks at a small long animal that is actually pretty big for the kind of animal that it is. It is very old and is found in a very cold place. This is an important animal to find from a long time ago because there are not a lot of these animals found at this time, and not a lot of them in the cold. The fact that it is big could be a part of something we see a lot where some animals get big to live in the cold. The second paper looks at a long animals that moves through water and some of them will eat parts of other animals while they are still living. This paper is looking at two new animals from a long time ago that have not been seen before and seeing how it changes our ideas of where these things come from and how they lived. And it does! This week on the Eurogamer Newscast, we discuss today's report by Eurogamer that Nintendo is showing Switch 2 tech demos to developers, including at Gamescom last month. The new hardware from the Big N now feels closer than ever - but when exactly will it arrive? More importantly, perhaps - for any Nintendo console - is what Nintendo game will it launch alongside? Will Switch 2's beefier specs be a smart time to finally launch Metroid Prime 4? Or does Nintendo go with the more mass market approach, and tap up its 3D Mario team? Finally, since it's out and it's probably going to be the biggest game of the year, we discuss the opening moments of Starfield - beyond the hour we all spend in the character creator. Joining me this week to share their thoughts on all that are Ed Nightingale and Victoria Kennedy. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill get back together for one more episode. And what better way to keep the show going than to discuss the most recent Nintendo Direct? We may not have had a real E3 this year, but the June 2023 Nintendo Direct delivered the goods with a surprisingly expansive slate of announcements across some of the Big N's most significant franchises. Think Nintendo was going to sit out the rest of the year? This Direct proved otherwise! The gang runs through each of the direct's biggest announcements, from crowd pleasers like the Super Mario RPG remake to the head scratching reveals like Detective Pikachu Returns. This may not have been a consistent presentation—-it truly was the epitome of starting from the bottom and ending at the top—but in the end, it delivered some surprisingly excellent reveals showing that 2023 is far from over when it comes to big Nintendo release. Let's just agree not to talk about Everybody 1-2 Switch in the meantime, ok? Don't forget: If you want to suggest a discussion topic, share your thoughts on a recent episode, or simply chat with the NXpress crew, feel free to email us at videogameseditor@goombastomp.com!
This will be the ONLY out-of-season episode published, as we weren't expecting anything but tweets from the Big N. Season 3 is under way and will STILL be released on a schedule, so don't worry. Let's a-go into a new year! This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill send off a momentous year with their final podcast recorded in 2022, and ring in a new year with an episode full of hot takes and spicy Nintendo predictions for 2023. Before all that, though, what better way to welcome the new year than with triumphant fanfare? The gang responds to a listener question by discussing their favorite fanfare themes in video games, and from Final Fantasy to Mario to Kirby to Metal Gear, they certainly have plenty to pick from! Then, to the Main Event: predicting Nintendo's 2023. We have a whole new year ahead of us, full of possibilities for surprises from the Big N. The gang takes turns making bold predictions about what Nintendo fans can look forward to: could this be the year we see Wind Waker HD on Switch, Advance Wars 1+2 Re-boot Camp make its long-delayed debut, or a new 3D Mario game to align with the upcoming movie? Will we ever see Metroid Prime 4, or the elusive next-gen Switch? The gang offer their takes on all these questions and more! Last but absolutely not least, Cameron closes out the show with an RPG extravaganza centered on the excellent new indie adventure Chained Echoes. Taking after the best SNES JRPGs of the roleplaying Golden Age, Chained Echoes is a gripping take on the classic genre formula with plenty of modern conveniences thrown in to boot. Turn-based battles, an engaging plot, and plenty of controllable super mechs, Chained Echoes has a little bit of everything you could want–and this discussion leads into a broader conversation on other great RPGs on Switch (Final Fantasy VII, anyone?). All this and more in this week's episode of NXpress. Happy 2023, everybody! The Best Nintendo Switch Games of 2022 Who will come out on top? This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill participate in a time-honored tradition: ranking the 22 best Nintendo Switch games of 2022. Before that momentous task, however, the gang celebrates the holiday season by sharing their top Nintendo-themed stocking stuffer hits. No matter how big or small your stocking might be, the NXpress crew has some surefire wins for the NIntendo fans on your holiday shopping list! And then, to the main event–the moment we've been waiting for all year: ranking the best Nintendo Switch Games of 2022. It's been a momentous year for the Big N, to say the very least, with releases ranging from eagerly anticipated sequels, shocking remakes, and long, long-overdue ports, making it no easy task for the Goomba Stomp team to rank this year's best Nintendo titles. Yet rank them we did, so the NXpress gang is here to talk about each and every entry: from Splatoon 3 to Shovel Knight Dig, from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge to Kirby and the Forgotten Land, the team combs through the year's biggest Switch hits to see which one comes out on top. And the award goes to…Bill Clinton? This week on the NXpress Nintendo Podcast, Cameron Daxon, Marc Kaliroff, and Campbell Gill celebrate Awards Season by reacting to the good, the bad, and the utterly bizarre at the 2022 Game Awards, along with reviews of the much-anticipated Switch RPGs Harvestella and Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion. The gang kicks things off by running through the biggest announcements at the Game Awards of 2022 that were most relevant to Nintendo fans. From a sequel to one of the best roguelikes on the market to a surprise follow-up to a controversial award winner, the show certainly did bring a few exciting bits of news for fans of the Big N. Yet nothing compares to the biggest delight of the show: a new trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which goes where few other game movies have gone before: using music from the source material in the actual film. What a novelty! Next up, Cameron turns things down a notch with impressions of two Square Enix RPGs that might fail to meet expectations. First up is Harvestella, the apocalypse-meets-farming-sim whose promising premise suffers under a repetitive, basic, and surprisingly barebones gameplay loop. Then, there's the baffling Crisis Core, a followup to Final Fantasy VII with an excellent remaster for modern platforms that does little to address the oddities of the original release.
