A lot of things about following God are illogical. Paul and Barnabas singing songs of praise while in prison is illogical. Noah building an ark on dry ground is illogical. Abraham leading his son to certain death on Mount Moriah is illogical. But what Pastor Jeff teaches us today is that the peace that God gives us in uncertain times defies all human logic. It gives us the grace and the confidence to do what He tells us. Even in the toughest of circumstances, we can find comfort as we abide in His peace.

Our faithfulness in exile points people to a kingdom that cannot be shaken.

This sermon challenges believers to recognize both the need and responsibility of sharing the gospel. From Romans 10:1–13, we learn that unbelievers must believe in Jesus alone for salvation—only through faith in Him can they be made right with God. For believers, Romans 9:14–15 emphasizes our calling to share this message: people cannot believe unless someone tells them. Every Christian has been sent with the good news, and sharing it is a beautiful act of obedience. We are called to meet people where they are, engage with genuine care, and take Spirit-led initiative. The gospel is simple yet powerful: all have sinned, Christ died for us, and through faith we receive eternal life.

Sergeant Maverick served the South Florida community for 37 years with the Miami-Dade Police Department, retiring in 2020. His career included assignments in uniform patrol, narcotics, airport and port security, and crime scene investigations. Following 9/11, he became a national leader in port security operations. A highly respected police instructor, Gonzalez has trained over 25,000 officers in areas such as crisis intervention, active shooter response, major scene management, tactical driving, and crowd control. A recipient of the Bronze Medal of Valor and two Life-Saving Awards, he has earned over 60 commendations throughout his career.
