Vital truth is declared - from one of Paul's prayers - about our need to more fully understand and embrace the reality of God's immense love for us as His people.

Today's message is not the usual sermon. Elder Paul Landers and Pastor David Walt share their hearts with a fresh word from God leading to corporate prayer. Paul talks about God's glory and the "name above all names" - Jesus! Pastor Dave speaks of mercy. We follow a God who is rich in mercy and we are called to be like him. The story of the Good Samaritan provides insight. Both Paul and Dave deliver words very appropriate for the days we live in. Prayer turns our beliefs into behavior. Pray for power (inner strength). Pray for love (to know the love of Christ). Pray for God Himself (filled with all the fulness of God).

What makes a prayer effective when we are praying for another believer? As I study this question in the word of God one thing jumps out; one particular characteristic than should be present whenever we pray for another believer. If you will do this one thing, your prayers for others will be both scriptural and effective. Without this characteristic your prayers for others will be on the opposite end of the spectrum and be both unscriptural and ineffective. What is this quality? Well, I don’t just want to tell you, I want to show it to you in the scriptures. I wanted to spend a little more time looking at praying for other people and have been studying the prayers of Paul and Jesus for other people in the Bible. It took a little while to find the common trait but as we go through the word you will see it.

Why is it important for you to receive a personal revelation of God’s love and to confirm your identity as a son or daughter? What will happen without this? According to the Scriptures cited, how does God the love of God become real to people? Paul’s prayer for people to grasp the fullness of God’s love in Eph 3: 14-19 is for Christians! What does this mean for you and me? Is there anything you can do to know on a deeper level the love of God and your true identity as a son or daughter?
