The atmospheric pressure inside the Estadio Azteca sometimes drops without warning. The old men of Mexico City attribute it to Quetzalcoatl, the invisible feathered serpent god, passing overhead. What do ten virgins waiting on a bridegroom and a desperate widow gathering empty vessels have in common? Oil—and more importantly, readiness. In this episode, we connect Matthew 25:1–13 and 2 Kings 4:1–7 to uncover a powerful truth: what you have prepared in private determines what you experience when the moment comes. Some had lamps but no oil. One had a little oil but many empty vessels. One group was shut out, while the other overflowed. The difference? Preparation, obedience, and faith. This episode challenges us to ask: Do I have oil—or just appearance?

In this Friday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan tracks fresh Iranian missile attacks on US merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz, even as Washington and Tehran reportedly agree to a 60-day ceasefire extension. Bryan walks through the strange split-screen of war and optimism, with US stock markets hitting all-time highs and Southwest Airlines reporting strong consumer demand, while Trump's approval numbers still sag under the weight of the Iran conflict and lingering inflation. He also breaks down a chilling Reuters report that adversaries are buying US service members' digital exhaust on the open market, and delivers a scathing insider analysis of the David Rush case, the former CIA officer who allegedly conned the Agency out of $40 million in gold bars and cash, with Bryan tying it back to the CIA's broken recruitment philosophy of hiring C students. Plus, Bryan closes the week with a deep look at the Quantum Revolution, why Trump just steered $2 billion to IBM and others, and why whoever masters quantum computing first may end up master of the planet. The gospel asks that we become Vessels of Mercy to share share the gospel with others. Believers are the best evidence that Jesus died and rose again. Gathered in worship, they point the world to the gospel. The gospel produces a community of people through faith in Christ to make disciples of all nations. The church that the gospel creates longs to see churches where there are none.

While Iran has the patience for a long conflict, the US is pressured by midterm elections and oil prices. Gulf states, particularly Saudi Arabia, are increasingly hawkish, urging the US to finish the job. Edmund Fitton Brown (15)1662
