Ep 50-How to make God's love visible with Rita El-Mounayer In this episode I get the honor of speaking with Rita El-Mounayer. Rita serves as the CEO of SAT-7 Christian TV which supports a growing Church in the Middle East and North Africa. She accounts testimonies of people being touched by SAT-7 who may have never heard off Jesus. Rita shares that it is our human right to share the love of Jesus, but it's the Holy Spirit's job to convert the human heart. Born in Lebanon, Rita lost her mom during the war in Lebanon at only 7 years old. Fearing she would also lose her father who was a soldier in the war. As a child she lived in a bunker, saw people killed in front of her, but notes that her story is not unique. She says growing up in this environment and surviving it enables her to relate to many of the people that SAT-7 reaches. Rita began her media career as a radio host and producer with Far Eastern Broadcasting Associates radio in 1992. She joined SAT-7 in 1995, before it had broadcast a single program. When the channel launched, Rita hosted its first program, Ears of Wheat (in Arabic, Asanabel). This program ran for 12 years and became one of the channel's most successful programs. Initially serving as host and producer, Rita's role soon expanded to programming director for all children's programs on SAT-7. In 2004, she also became programming director for all of the Arabic programs at SAT-7. Then, with the launch of SAT-7 KIDS in 2007, her dream of launching the first independent, Arabic Christian channel for children became a reality. In 2008, Rita was named executive director for SAT-7 ARABIC and SAT-7 KIDS. In 2016, SAT-7 positioned for greater growth and impact with structural changes and key leaders taking on more responsibilities. At this time, Rita El-Mounayer began to serve in the newly created position, Chief Channels and Communications Officer (CCO), overseeing three Arabic channels, one Persian/Farsi channel, and one Turkish channel – with a total of more than 150 staff and freelancers, distributed across studios in Lebanon, Egypt, Cyprus, Turkey and the UK. On April 1, 2019, SAT-7 appointed Rita as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Rita says, “My prayer is that during my lifetime and time of service as CEO of SAT-7, we will see millions of viewers sharing their testimony as to how God's message changed their lives, and we will rejoice together that we made a difference.” Rita also plays a key role in mentoring new TV producers and continues to host two programs -- Bedtime Stories, a children's program, and My Story, a live talk show. Born in Lebanon, Rita lived through the violence of the Lebanese Civil War as a young girl. During that time, she and her sister found refuge from the horrors going on around them in television cartoons. She hoped someday to become involved in media to bring joy to children -- just as cartoons had done for her -- while broadcasting hope in Christ. Rita first served SAT-7 in Lebanon, and since 2005, she has served SAT-7 in Cyprus. Rita holds an M.A. in Communications from Cardiff University, Wales. If you said this prayer- you are justified immediately and made right with God. Living a life to glorify God is a life- long journey! But know that right now you are saved and set free from the bondage of sin (including past, present and future sin). Nothing can separate you from the love of God and living in eternity with Him. Did you receive Christ today? If so, Congratulations! It's the best decision you have ever made!

God is Love. Love is from Him and it is because of Him that we can love. Yet, as deep as our love may be for others, His love for us is even more powerful, so that nothing and no one can separate us from Him. Not even ourselves. His love is even, unwavering, without interruption. As you listen today, let Him love you and show you why He loves you so much. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. Natalie Reeve gained a testimony of the gospel at a young age but also experienced a time in her life that left her feeling shattered by abuse, lack of trust and an eating disorder. Natalie describes this period of her life as falling into a hole very quickly and climbing out very slowly. In the interview you will hear how Natalie relied on the Spirit to rebuild her life by turning to God to not only feel His love but also to see the divine nature within herself. She shares the miracle she saw in her life of God helping her to recover and forgive. Natalie also discusses how God strengthened her through her covenants, which she realized were still in tact even though her first marriage ended. Natalie shares her witness that no matter how difficult the trials you face are, all things will work together for your good if you love God and put Him first. Journal Questions Many guests this season have shared how asking God how He feels about them has helped them feel His love. If you haven't asked God how He feels about you lately, ask Him and then record the answers you feel in the coming weeks and months. Natalie shared how she asked Heavenly Father how He felt about her but then she took it one step further by using daily meditation and looking at herself in the mirror to see for herself what God sees in her. Who is this person that Heavenly Father sees? Try doing what Natalie did. Look in the mirror. Look at yourself in the eye. Don't judge yourself and allow negativity to creep in. See the beauty that is not tangible. See yourself as your Heavenly Parents see you. Natalie shared a scripture found in Romans 8:28: “…all things work together for good to them that love God…” What does loving God mean to you? How have you seen Him take the messes in your life and make them into beautiful things? Record your thoughts in your journal. In 2020, Alyssa Mendoza received a surprising email from her father in the middle of the night. The message had instructions about what to do for her mother on her parents’ twenty-fifth anniversary. Why was this shocking? Alyssa’s father had passed away ten months earlier. She discovered that he had written and scheduled the email while he was sick, knowing he might not be there. He’d also arranged and paid for flowers to be sent to his wife for upcoming years on her birthday, future anniversaries, and Valentine’s Day. This story could stand as an example of the kind of love that’s described in detail in Song of Songs. “Love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave” (8:6). Comparing graves and death to love seems odd, but they’re strong because they don’t give up their captives. However, neither will true love give up the loved one. The book reaches its peak in these verses, describing marital love as one so strong that “many waters cannot quench [it]” (v. 7). Throughout the Bible, the love of a husband and wife is compared to God’s love (Isaiah 54:5; Ephesians 5:25; Revelation 21:2). Jesus is the groom and the church is His bride. God showed His love for us by sending Christ to face death so we wouldn’t have to die for our sins (John 3:16). Whether we’re married or single, we can remember that God’s love is stronger than anything we could imagine.

How do Paul's prayers for the church at Ephesus differ from our modern practice of prayer? Paul prays for the power from God to allow Christ to dwell in our hearts. God has created us to deeply know his love and allow his love to challenge and change us so that we may become who He created us to be. Have you personally experienced the power of God's love in your heart?
Our ability to experience God's love directly relates to how dutifully we repent, study the scriptures, and partake of the sacrament. Support the show: https://ldsp-pay.ldschurch.org/donations/byu/byu-speeches.html See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today's Promise: Ephesians 3:19 This promise is the third part of a prayer Paul made for the church of Ephesus and for you and me. God desires for you to know the Love of Christ. This isn't just head knowledge of God's love, but experiential knowledge. As Warren Wiersbe said, “As a Christian, you never have to worry about inadequate spiritual resources for day to day living.” The more you grab ahold of God's love, the more find the abundance of God's presence flowing through your life.
The Kingdom of Israel under King Jeroboam II was extremely wealthy, strong, and expansive. It looked great from the outside, but inside idolatry was taking over and society was decaying. The prophets Hosea and Amos list the sins of the people and attempt to bring them to repentance. Hosea describes them as an adulterous wife who God intends to heal of her waywardness and love freely once again. One of the toughest journeys we take is the one from our head to our heart. “We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.” – Thornton Wilder Psalm 34:8 ESV // Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Receiving and experiencing God's love involves both head and heart. We experience God's love through the power of the Holy Spirit. This experience is available to every one of us. Romans 5:1-8 ESV // Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame (hope does not disappoint in the NLT), because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. A vibrant Christian life is filled with knowledge and experience. What we think about God is HUGELY important. Perfection is not a requirement to receive God's love. You cannot EARN acceptance! 2 Thessalonians 3:5 // May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
The prodigal son is one of the most famous teachings of Jesus, but there are many misconceptions that people have about it. Most don't know exactly what prodigal means, nor do they know that this is a parable about TWO sons, and not just one, and that a big focus in the parable is the JOY of the father over the return of His son. Today we talk prodigal sons and joy over finding lost things.
