After a sideline/halftime altercation with teammates Kyle Anderson, the Timberwolves have suspended Rudy Gobert for Tuesday's Play-in Game against the Lakers, despite the team already missing frontcourt players Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid. What does mean for Minnesota in this critical game, and what does it signal about Gobert's relationship with the team that traded EVERYTHING to land him?And speaking of playoff absences, New Orleans Pelicans big man/franchise face Zion Williamson will reportedly be out for the remainder of the postseason, however that lasts for his team. Brandon Ingram and C.J. McCollum have held down the fort admirably in Zion's absence... but he's always absent. How much is this hurting the Pelicans' trajectory, given Zion's also too good to easily move on from? Finally, which team in each conference has the (relatively) easiest path to the Finals? Sixers? This is a very special edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Not only is Matt Moore, of CBS fame, a guest on this episode, but it is the 100th show. Thank you to everyone who has been around for the wild ride, bad jokes and iffy sports takes. By law of having a guest on, the Relatively Speaking Podcast begins by asking Moore five random questions. In a random question segment first, there was a followup to something asked. Things not only get interesting, but Matt drops some really incredible philosophical ideas on our craniums by way of our ear canals. After the tomfoolery is out of the way, there's even more shenanigans, but within the realm of basketball. What is happening with the Lonzo Ball hype? The rookies that are worth keeping an eye on? Did any team actually close the gap on the Golden State Warriors and/or Cleveland Cavaliers? Is the banana boat thing an actual thing or is it a figment of our creative imaginations? What's next for LeBron James if Dan Gilbert Dan Gilberts all over himself? What team in the Western Conference is going to make a huge jump next season? Of course, some Denver Nuggets conversation. Following some insightful basketball conversations, the show ends as it always does on Monday, with Absurd Questions. This is a rather violence-heavy edition of Absurd Questions. Listen at your own risk. Also, find out who Matt wants to punch... kind of. You can follow Matt on Twitter at both @HPbasketball and @MattMooreCBS. Jared can be followed over yonder @JMintzHoops. As for the loser guy, he's @JosephNardone.

I've followed Matt Moore of Hardwood Paroxysm and CBS for years on Twitter. I'm sure I've argued with him a time or two, but I've always valued his opinion and writing. I'm really happy he agreed to come on the WFNY podcast in the midst of a very busy NBA off-season. We talked about Twitter, his process, and his goals as a web publisher. We talked about LeBron James, NBA player culture growing up, and a whole host of other topics. Very good iinsight into what makes @HPBasketball tick. Learn more about your ad choices. No Kevin Colabro this week, but he'll be back one day! This week our guest is Matt Moore from CBS Sports Eye On Basketball and Hardwood Paroxysm. Matt and I briefly recap the NBA Finals and how the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are not so different after all if you look past the surface. We get into this year's NBA Draft, how amazingly deep it is and why it's going to be a great thing for the expanding D-League this year. Matt has some terrific thoughts on making the D-League a true minor league system. We get into the topic of Russell Westbrook, Scott Brooks and are they actually good for the Oklahoma City Thunder? Matt had some great points as to why they are and got me thinking in a whole new direction. There is some great discussion on some rumors about where Kevin Love and Carmelo Anthony might end up, and a couple of the destinations might surprise you. We talk about the potential time frame for an expansion team in Seattle. Matt definitely brought the goods in this one; it's a can't miss episode! You can visit Matt's sites here: Hardwood Paroxysm and Eye On Basketball and you can follow him on Twitter at @MattMooreCBS and @HPBasketball.
