The Milwaukee Bucks snapped their three-game losing streak with a strong win over the Los Angeles Lakers in Milwaukee on Thursday night, so Ti Windisch was joined by Justin Garcia from the Bucks Radio Network and Locked on Bucks Podcast to discuss what went right for Milwaukee in that game and many more Bucks topics. Ti and Justin weighed in on how they feel the Bucks acquisitions (Kevin Porter Jr., Kyle Kuzma, and Jericho Sims) are succeeding early in Milwaukee, how much of the offense should revolve around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard and whether it matters if they are facilitators or the actual scorers, if the Bucks should ultimately replace Taurean Prince with one of Gary Trent Jr. or AJ Green, if any of the Bucks current out of rotation players have a chance to get back in, and how the Dame and Giannis partnership is going in year 2. The Milwaukee Bucks finally got another win over a top team, taking down the Denver Nuggets at home on Thursday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo unsurprisingly led the way, but Damian Lillard helped slam the door with a clutch 3 and all five Bucks starters plus Gary Trent Jr scored in double figures. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti discussed the nice win and what it means for the Bucks, plus Milwaukee's gameplan against Denver and Doc Rivers' decision to stick with Taurean Prince as a starter despite the fact that he is apparently hurt. 0:04 ... Ross welcomes everyone to the show and introduces his co-hosts. 0:34 ... Episode #144 is dedicated to the Thunder and Cavs, who lead their respective conferences with 44 wins at the break. 0:47 ... Ross live BetOnLine commercial read 1:20 ... For our YouTube viewers, Bruce is rocking an All-Star hat from the 1996 All Star game in San Antonio where he first crossed paths with future colleague and lifetime pal Tim Legler, who won the Long Distance Shootout that year. 2:09 ... Ross begins his recap of All Star Weekend and Bruce's initial thought is that he wished he had binge watched "The Landman" on Paramount Plus instead of another boring All-Star weekend. 3:13 ... World B was similarly unimpressed with the gimmicks the league tried. If the players don't care, the event will always disappoint. 4:14 ... Bruce wonders if the trade deadline should move closer to All-Star weekend to help juice up interest, but World B offers a good reason why that may not be viable. Ross points out that Damian Lillard had some valid points about player fatigue being a factor in why the game lacks intensity. 6:52 ... Ross recaps the Rising Stars competition and feels that one of the good parts of the weekend was seeing younger guys and G-League players get some exposure. World B agrees and Bruce says a prime example of that was Stephon Castle of the Spurs, who made a major impact in his events. 9:14 ... Ross mentions rookie Reed Shepherd and wonders if we overhyped him. Bruce thinks he may be a late bloomer and World B points out how young he is. World B adds that Houston COULD have drafted Castle and must be kicking themselves over that move. 11:28 ... Ross transitions to the Skills Competition which featured controversy involving an attempt by the Spurs duo of Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama to exploit a loophole in the rules to gain an unfair advantage. Bruce isn't buying that it was Wemby's idea as he thinks Chris Paul instigated it and made the young dude take the heat for it. 13:58 ... Bruce wonders if these shenanigans chip away at the credibility of the sport. 15:07 ... Tyler Herro beat Buddy Hield in the Long Distance Shootout and the guys discuss how Herro has played through many distractions in Miami and is doing so well. 18:06 ... Mac McClung dominated the Dunk Contest with a variety of cool slams. Bruce wants to give McClung the "Woody Harrelson White Men CAN Jump Award" as he was reminded of other undersized winners from years past like Spud Webb and Nate Robinson. World B thinks the dunk over the car was one of the best dunks ever. 21:50 ... Ross recaps the championship game and Bruce highlights Steph Curry's two showstopping shots that won him the MVP Award. Ross asks World B if the All Star game should have a new gimmick like a 4 of 5 point shot? World B thinks matchup between Teams from the USA and an International team would help drive interest and players effort. 26:03 ... Preseason prediction recaps ... Bruce starts out with his choice of Stephon Castle as his preseason rookie of the year pick and explains how his big weekend at the All Star game makes him the leader in the clubhouse. World B whips through some picks he made and says Jalen Williams would win Most Improved Player. Ross agrees but Bruce likes Cade Cunningham to win the award. 30:37 ... Bruce had Shai Gilgeous Alexander as his MVP pick and he's pretty certain that SGA will win with Nikola Jokic second and Giannis third. World B thinks SGA is deserving but still makes a great case for Joker. 32:58 ... Ross with a gratuitous cheap shot at World B's Orlando Magic team. Bruce praises the brutal coldness of the comment. But Ross's MVP choice of Luka Doncic will not be happening. 34:15 ... The Coach of the Year race? Ross says Kenny Atkinson will win even though his preseason pick was Jamahl Moseley. Bruce liked Ime Udoka prior to the season but feels Atkinson will win it. World B agrees but also gives some flowers to Ty Lue of the Clippers. Bruce and Ross give a little bit of love to JB Bickerstaff in Detroit who has done a tremendous job with a young team. 39:05 ... Ross tees up the OKC vs Boston finals prediction ... Bruce still likes the Celtics to win it, but they have certainly lacked consistency this season. Ross shared this prediction but World B liked Minnesota to come out of the west and play Boston. 41:59 ... Ross begins the discussion on second half predictions and Bruce feels like Minnesota could get themselves on a roll as they begin a stretch of 7 out of their next 9 games on the road. If they can go 6-3, they may be ready to go into the next gear. 43:12 ... World B with some startling facts about Boston's starters and what isn't clicking. He adds that Cleveland is for real and points out the Cavs have some tough matchups with the Knicks coming up. 46:53 ... Ross predicts the Suns will miss the playoffs entirely, which is shocking considering who is on their team. But they have a brutal schedule and Bradley Beal is injured and morale around the team seems low. 48:42 ... Bruce chimes in Denver, whom he expects to peak at the right time. But he does not fully trust Memphis because when Ja Morant plays, they have a much lower winning percentage than they do when he is out of the lineup. 50:22 ... Ross wraps it up and says goodbye. DiVincenzo, Edwards and Randle are out for Minnesota. Conley is questionable with Edwards probable. Damian Lillard got 38 points with five rebounds. Kyle Kuzma chipped in with 21 points with six rebounds. Milwaukee allowed 44% shooting with 29% from three. Rudy Gobert got 12 points and eight boards. Minnesota allowed 51% shooting to the Cavs with 40% from three.
The Milwaukee Bucks are without franchise superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo for a few weeks as his calf soreness has been upgraded to a calf strain. So far Milwaukee is 2-2 without Giannis with a chance to go 3-2 without him ahead of the All-Star Break in Minnesota on Wednesday night. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti start the latest Gyro Step by discussing All-Star Weekend a bit including the rising profile of the three-point contest before diving into what they've seen from Kyle Kuzma in his Bucks tenure thus far and why they're excited to see him play with Giannis. They also cover the KPJ debut and other rotational patterns Doc Rivers has put on display including not playing Jericho Sims yet. Jon Horst's comments to media on the Khris Middleton trade and more were discussed, and they somehow forgot to talk about Damian Lillard until the very end. Truly a Giannis level of implied greatness. GSPN's Bucks podcasts are presented by PrizePicks – Go to PrizePicks.com/Gyrostep and use code Gyrostep for a $50 bonus when you play $5! Pick more. The Sixers' bad loss to the Milwaukee Bucks became a side story after a report from ESPN's Lisa Salters claimed that Joel Embiid believes he needs another knee surgery and “a long recovery period” to properly get back to his old self.Oh yeah, the 76ers were also blown out by the Milwaukee Bucks, who were playing without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Damian Lillard led Milwaukee, while getting help from Gary Trent Jr., Bobby Portis, and others.Join the PHLY Sixers squad as they break down another embarrassing defensive performance from the Sixers, who now have the worst defense in the league since the calendar flipped to 2025.
The Milwaukee Bucks looked like world-beaters with Kyle Kuzma in tow…for one quarter. The Bucks ultimately lost a disappointing game to the Atlanta Hawks on the road in Kuzma's debut, although the loss wasn't all on him. Ti Windisch and Jordan Treske huddled after the game to share their thoughts on the newest Buck, who early on flashed the combo of size and athleticism Milwaukee wanted to get when they decided to trade Khris Middleton and continued to show flashes of both the good and bad parts of his game throughout the night. They also discussed Milwaukee's offensive issues once Atlanta looked to force the ball out of Damian Lillard's hands, how to best utilize Bobby Portis who again had a huge game with Giannis Antetokounmpo out of the lineup, and how Jericho Sims could help solve some lineup issues involving Brook Lopez. The Milwaukee Bucks' five-game winning streak is no more after a tough road loss to the LA Clippers on Saturday night in which Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard couldn't quite keep up with furious scoring outbursts from James Harden and Norman Powell plus a tough Clippers defense in the fourth quarter. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti convened on Sunday morning to discuss the great basketball on display for three quarters and why Khris Middleton's scoreless performance plus Bobby Portis missing the game left the Bucks with not quite enough offensive punch. Ti and Rohan then shared how this game helped shape their approach to the 2025 NBA Trade deadline and Milwaukee potentially trading Middleton, as hard as it would be. This is Giannis and Dame's team now – the Core Four era is done. Finally at the end of the normal podcast listeners will find Ti's interviews with Bucks rookie first rounder AJ Johnson and Wisconsin Herd forward Henry Ellenson, who were kind enough to give great answers despite the Capital City Go-Go beating up on the Herd on Saturday night prior to the Bucks game. Johnson spoke a lot about his game and what he's working on, and Ellenson shared great insight on working toward an NBA call-up and his experience playing for Team USA in November. The CHGO Bulls crew discuss the latest trade rumors and reports regarding Chicago Bulls stars Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic. ESPN's Shams Charania confirmed that the Warriors have interest in Vucevic, while also reporting that the Bulls are receiving calls on LaVine. Sam Amick and David Aldridge of The Athletic suggested that the Bucks have interest in getting involved in a multi-team Jimmy Butler trade to add a star player to compliment Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. LaVine was named as a potential target. Meanwhile, could the Lakers and Mavericks become late suitors for Vucevic, given their need for frontcourt depth? Peck, Big Dave and Will Gottlieb break it down!
The Milwaukee Bucks have yet to make any trades this season but that hasn't stopped buzz surrounding the Bucks to pick up, as many rumors are painting the Bucks as actively involved in the Jimmy Butler trade saga, no longer bringing back Butler to Milwaukee but instead sending Khris Middleton to Miami and bringing in one of Bradley Beal or Zach LaVine. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti took a break from spiraling at the thought of trading for Beal to hop on the podcast and address exactly why that move would be a catastrophe for Milwaukee, before talking about why LaVine makes more sense and could actually work out for the Bucks. Both hosts agreed they'd prefer to ride out the season with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard, and Khris Middleton ultimately. The Milwaukee Bucks are riding a four-game winning streak and it's all thanks to Bucks assistant head coach Vin Baker. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti explain how Baker's words to Damian Lillard unlocked both the best version of Dame and of the Dame and Giannis Antetokounmpo Bucks before going through what they've seen from various players over the weekend. With the NBA Trade Deadline looming, Ti and Rohan then dove into some trade candidates, mostly centers, including the Dallas Mavericks Daniel Gafford who apparently is available. There are not a lot of great center options out there, but Ti and Rohan found a few they liked at least. The Milwaukee Bucks looked dominant in back-to-back wins this week against the Sacramento Kings and Orlando Magic, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard setting the tone with strong two-way play. Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti discussed how strong the Bucks look when they set the tone with more energy and effort and question why it took until January 2025 for the Giannis and Dame Bucks to seemingly figure this out, before quickly rolling through other takeaways from the wins. Afterward they move to Ti's NBA Trade Deadline Big Board, available in full to GSPN Premium subscribers, featuring 30 trade targets ranked in order of which deal would be best for the Bucks. They start with Jimmy Butler although he is not the top spot, but given the news around Jimmy lately and the seemingly good chance Milwaukee trades for him he took precedence. After that discussion, Ti and Rohan covered other top targets including center depth options and some intriguing wing players who could bolster Milwaukee's rotation. It is an infamous basketball ad that keeps going viral as much for its cringe-worthiness as the mystery of its simple message: "sportsmanship." But correspondent Zach Schwartz embarked on a two-and-a-half-year quest to meet the anonymous actor who's gotten dunked on by Twitter for more than a decade. Now, he helps us untangle a web of links from March Madness to Madison Avenue; a Supreme Court justice to a secretive billionaire; and the Dalai Lama to Damian Lillard (who agreed to go on the record). And we learn the true meaning of "perseverance" in the process.
