We're back to talk the sixteen trades that happened between February 4th 2022 and February 10th (the trade deadline!) Somehow we do it in less than two hours! Full list of trades here - https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32965050/nba-trade-tracker-grades-details-every-deal-2021-22-season Some highlights: Tyrese Haliburton was a great pickup by the Pacers. The Nets absolutely crushed their deal, but Daryl Morey may very well have won in his goal. We laugh at the Wizards and give Montrezl Harrel this year's Kenneth Faried award (at least he's the front runner) Shout out to Hikaru Nakamura for advancing in the FIDE Grand Prix in exciting fashion yesterday!

Giving my thoughts on the Lakers working out Kenneth Faried --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/ms-jae2/message
Wednesday's podcast with Doug Norrie from Locked On Nets offered a lot of clarity regarding new Lakers center DeAndre Jordan, and what he still brings to the table, even while no longer in peak form. He's an imperfect player, and those flaws ultimately made him untenable for the style of the Brooklyn Nets, his former team. But for the Lakers' style, he might be just fine. Not incredible, not terrible, but fine. For Brian Kamenetzky, this was reassuring as someone who was pretty down on the acquisition. For Andy Kamenetzky, it was a reminder that deep stats and analytics are definitely useful, but also potentially misleading without context.Plus, the Lakers are working out Kenneth Faried? Really? Like... really? The Kamenetzkys also discussed a bonus segment with Norrie about the Nets' mega-offense, and how they'll look to smother opponents in points. Is it a coincidence that the Lakers, expected by most to face Brooklyn in the Finals, loaded up on offensive talent this summer? Or was it merely indicative of a pre-existing need to juice the offense, regardless of Brooklyn's firepower? Or a bit of both? And finally, Carmelo Anthony has been making the rounds promoting his new book, Where Tomorrows Aren't Promised: A Memoir of Survival and Hope. Among the many interesting thoughts shared during an interview in Esquire, Melo explained why, despite a close friendship with Kobe Bryant, teaming up in 2014 wouldn't have worked. Beyond the Lakers being Kobe's franchise, Los Angeles were "his city." That's just not an ideal setting for another superstar, much less one in his prime. It speaks to why the Kamenetzkys have said for years (and in the moment) that finding a superstar to play alongside Kobe was such a complicated venture.Hosts: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: Thoughts on Norrie's better-than-expected scouting report on DeAndre Jordan.SEGMENT 2: Did the Lakers revamp their roster with Brooklyn specifically in mind?SEGMENT 3: Melo talks Kobe and the Lakers, circa 2014.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!SweatBlockGet it today for 20% off at SweatBlock.com with promo code LockedOn, or at Amazon and CVS.Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar. It's Mail Bag Monday on Jacked Ramsays - hosts Danny Marang and Brandon Sprague are answering your questions following the Portland Trail Blazer's opening Summer League victory vs the Charlotte Hornets. Unfortunately, Greg Brown III, Michael Beasley, Kenneth Faried, Emmanuel Mudiay and the human flame thrower that was Antonio Blakeney were no match for grand scale questions facing the Trail Blazers - most specifically, outside of perhaps signing a player off the Summer League roster - are the Blazers mostly built for the 2021-22 NBA season? Is there a CJ McCollum trade still to cling to? Perhaps Ben Simmons or Pascal Siakam could still be a beacon of hope to salvage a request by Damian Lillard to improve the roster? If all else fails... what's the best pizza to eat while watching the Blazers? That and more on this week's episode! SUBSCRIBE: iTunes & Spotify Learn more about your ad choices. The New Zealand Breakers have all but resigned to their fate this season and allowed Corey Webster to join the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in China on a short-term deal.Webster has agreed to join the Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association on a short-term loan after the club offered the Breakers a lucrative buyout deal.It won't be the end of Webster's tenure with the Breakers however, with the 31-year-old agreeing to an extension with the club that would see him remain in Auckland until 2023.Speaking to media about Webster's contract in China, Breakers director of basketball Dan Shamir said their 4-10 record made the decision to let him leave a bit easier."He's not going anywhere if it's 10-4, let's be honest," Shamir said."This season has been challenging from day one, and this is definitely not an upgrade for the team. My approach is always to take it for the next game and compete; look for the three or four things we need to do and we'll keep doing that. Will we in the 14 games that are left? I don't know, I can't promise results."It doesn't mean we're going to rest or be less professional."The Breakers have struggled to a 4-10 record to the halfway point of the season, sitting four games behind the Adelaide 36ers who currently hold the fourth and final playoff spot. Webster's new Chinese deal means he is now unavailable to play against the Melbourne Phoenix in Christchurch this weekend and he was expected to leave the country in the coming days. For Webster, who leads the Breakers in scoring with 19 points per game, it was an easy decision to accept the offer. The CBA is one of the top leagues in the world, with their imports often being high-level former NBA players. Webster joins the club a week after eight-year NBA veteran Kenneth Faried was cut from the team and said the opportunity to play in the CBA was unexpected. It's the second opportunity Webster has had to ply his trade in a league overseas, after an approach by Turkish club Darüşşafaka was knocked back by the Breakers at the start of the season."When that didn't go through, that was nothing personal against the club," Webster said of being unable to link up with Darüşşafaka. "I love being a Breaker; this is where I've played the majority of my pro career."I wasn't out there looking for a deal, I was trying to win with this team. This just happened to come about."Leaving halfway through the season is a little bit disappointing for me, I feel bad a little bit but this is an opportunity that is going to change some things for my family. No one in their right mind would strictly turn it down without even considering it."It's a life changing opportunity for now, but the more important thing for me is I'm returning to the Breakers. My heart's in this club, with everything that's gone on, I still believe in the road we're taking, the focuses and the plans of the club."To cover for the hole Webster leaves, Tall Blacks Shooting Guard Ethan Rusbatch becomes a full rostered player. The 27-year-old initially joined the club in pre-season as a Nominated Replacement Player for Tom Abercrombie.

The Celtics picked up an 82-75 victory yesterday over the New York Knicks. They will now move on to the next round of the NBA's Summer League Tournament. Jaylen Brown spoke to reporters yesterday about the departure of LeBron James from the Eastern Conference. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, former Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas has agreed to a one-year, $2M contract with the Denver Nuggets. In a salary dump trade, the Denver Nuggets sent Kenneth Faried and Darrell Arthur to the Brooklyn Nets last night. In a separate deal, the Nets traded Jeremy Lin to the Atlanta Hawks.
In this episode I share my thoughts on the acquisition of Isaiah Thomas as the 6th man on Denver's roster. I also discuss the move to get off of Kenneth Faried and Darrell Athur's deals at the cost of a protected 1st round pick. Lastly, with IT on board, Denver has more of an identity than I can remember in recent history. All offense. All underdogs. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
In this episode, I break down Denver's draft and gush about the upside of Michael Porter Jr. I take you behind the scenes at Pepsi Center and share how stunned everyone in the local media was to see him fall to Denver at 14. I talk about the back surgery and the injury concerns that caused him to fall in the draft. I go over his strengths and weaknesses as a player and discuss why sitting out a year might be the best move for him. I also talk about Jarred Vanderbilt, the sneaky great pick of the night and a player who brings many of the best Kenneth Faried qualities without some of the Manimal's negatives.
