Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk sports betting for Friday. Munaf Manji and Uncle Diamond Dave Essler are back on the Cash That Ticket podcast for a Friday, May 15, 2026 episode that covers more ground than most, starting with two NBA playoff closeout games and working all the way through the MLB Friday card, a PGA Championship round one update, and a genuine milestone moment as Munaf officially becomes a Pregame Pro on Pregame.com — selling picks for the first time after years of giving them away for free on this pod, and receiving a full public endorsement from Dave that was honest, direct, and exactly what you would expect from a man who has been in the pick-selling business long enough to know the difference between a handicapper and a salesman. On the NBA side, the guys break down Game 6 of Cavaliers versus Pistons at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, where the Cavs hold a three-games-to-two lead after surviving overtime in Detroit behind 30 points from James Harden and a 31-free-throw performance that Dave argues is simply not repeatable — not the free throw volume, not the 40 percent three-point shooting, not the pace that produced 211 points in regulation plus overtime, and both hosts land on the under at 211 and a half as their conviction play, with Dave adding Detroit plus four and a half as his side bet, pointing to the Pistons' history of holding opponents under 101 points in five of their six wins this postseason and the brutal minutes load both rosters are carrying out of an overtime game where Cade Cunningham played 48 of 53 available minutes and Evan Mobley, James Harden, and Donovan Mitchell each logged 43. In the Western Conference, San Antonio leads Minnesota three to two and travels to Target Center as road favorites, and Dave likes the Timberwolves in the spot — citing the loss of emotional fuel that powered the Spurs' 29-point blowout in Game 5 after the Victor Wembanyama ejection, the correctable nature of Minnesota's poor shooting and paint numbers from that game, and his standing rule about backing home underdogs in elimination games, which Munaf reinforces with data showing the Wolves have consistently been excellent coming off losses and pointing to Anthony Edwards as a player who needs a signature moment tonight, with both hosts taking Minnesota plus five and a half and the over at 218 and a half and flagging Naz Reid three-pointers made and Jaden McDaniels points and rebounds as the ancillary prop angles on the Wolves side. On the MLB card, they fade Aaron Nola against the Pirates and Braxton Ashcraft, building the case around Nola's fly-ball evolution, his seven home runs in 42 innings, his trend of pitching worse in back-to-back matchups against the same team, and the road context at PNC Park tonight, preferring the Pittsburgh first-five-innings run line as the cleanest execution vehicle. In the Subway Series, Cam Schlittler — who is putting up historic numbers not seen since Walter Johnson in 1913 — starts for the Yankees at Citi Field against Clay Holmes and the Mets, with cold temperatures, wind blowing in, and a total of seven making the first-five-innings under the natural play for both hosts. Dave's best bet is the over in the Rockies-Diamondbacks game at Coors Field, where Merrill Kelly arrives with a 7.62 ERA and 19 hits allowed in 14 road innings, and Munaf's best bet is the under eight in Atlanta between the Braves and the Red Sox, with Spencer Strider making his third start back from an oblique strain against a Boston offense that has scored five combined runs over its last four games. Use promo code RISE10 at Pregame.com — R-I-S-E-1-0 — to get ten dollars off anything including the rest-of-May all-access package, now available at eighty-nine dollars through May 31, and head to the Buy Picks tab to find Munaf's daily package and Dave's three-star playoff game of the month. The NBA Playoffs are rolling on, and Missing the Point is back to break down a second round that has been weird, brutal, frustrating, and occasionally incredible.Dave Clarke and Mike Marcangelo start with the Oklahoma City Thunder looking less like a fun young team and more like the NBA's next inevitable monster. OKC's defense, depth, pace, and ridiculous two-way pressure have overwhelmed the Los Angeles Lakers, even with LeBron James still playing at a shocking level for his age. The guys debate whether a healthy Luka Dončić would have changed anything, why the Thunder look like the real championship measuring stick, and whether anyone left in the Western Conference can actually beat them. From there, it's Spurs vs. Timberwolves, the best series of the round. Victor Wembanyama is already bending playoff basketball around him, and the conversation turns into one simple question: how is anyone supposed to deal with this guy for seven games? Dave and Mike dig into Wemby's defensive range, shot-blocking, offensive growth, and why San Antonio might be ahead of schedule as a real threat to Oklahoma City. They also look at Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Naz Reid, and what Minnesota has to do to survive the series. The show also hits Pistons vs. Cavaliers, with Cade Cunningham pushing Detroit into a new tier and Donovan Mitchell trying to drag Cleveland back into the fight. Is Detroit already tougher, younger, and more connected? Can Cleveland's size and playoff experience still matter? And can anyone trust James Harden in a playoff series when the pressure rises? Then comes the part Celtics fans probably needed and definitely deserved: Philadelphia getting swept by the New York Knicks somehow made Boston's playoff collapse feel even worse. The guys unload on the Sixers, the Knicks' physicality, Jalen Brunson's matchup hunting, Joe Mazzulla, Boston's three-point obsession, Jaylen Brown's offseason comments, and whether the Celtics need a major reset.Support the show-----------https://www.MTPshow.comOur Social Mediahttps://linktr.ee/MTPSHOW-----------Hosts: Mike Marcangelo, Dave Clarke, Rayshawn Buchanan, Bob KellyProducer: Craig D'AlessandroInquiries: Craig@mtpshow.com

Seven-time NBA champion Robert Horry, B-Dog Brandon Harper, and Rob Jenners break down everything happening in the 2025 playoffs — and there's a LOT to get into on Episode 259.   The Thunder are rolling. OKC swept the Lakers to go 8-0 in the playoffs so far, doing it without Jalen Williams and doing it in convincing fashion. Big Shot Bob gives his honest take on LA's future — including whether Austin Reaves deserves $250 million, what LeBron's exit interview really signals, and why the Lakers keep running into the same wall every spring.   Then the guys get into Victor Wembanyama's elbow on Naz Reid — Rob makes the case he should've been suspended, and breaks down exactly why the NBA's handling of it sets a bad precedent. Should the league have at least hit him with a fine? Everyone agrees on that one. We also dig into what NOT suspending Wemby says about how the NBA protects its stars, and whether that chips away at what's fair for everyone else on the floor.   In the East, the Knicks swept the Sixers out — 25 threes, a 30-point blowout, and Knicks fans completely taking over Philly's arena. The boys break down what that team is actually capable of, and size up whoever's coming out of the Pistons-Cavs series to face them. Spoiler: neither team looks ready.   Plus: the Washington Wizards win the draft lottery, Draymond takes a shot at Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA (and the guys have some thoughts on that), Steve Kerr's Warriors extension, Jaylen Brown's $50K fine for calling out Joel Embiid on Twitch, and the Big Shout of the Week goes to a 73-year-old music teacher from England who remortgaged his house to save his neighborhood pub.   We close it out with this week's game — All-Time Playoff Runs — testing Big Shot Bob on some of the best postseason win streaks in NBA history. The 2026 NBA Playoffs second round is heating up, and the Korner Booth crew has you fully covered. In the West, Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves evened their series against the San Antonio Spurs at 2-2 after a massive Game 4 performance. Edwards dropped 36 points, 16 of them in the fourth quarter, as Minnesota rallied back to knot the series. The big story? Spurs star Victor Wembanyama was ejected for throwing an elbow toward Wolves big Naz Reid early in the second quarter, and despite the no-suspension ruling, his absence opened the paint wide open for Minnesota to take over down the stretch. With Game 5 looming in San Antonio, this series is far from over. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder continue to make the Los Angeles Lakers look overmatched. The Thunder have yet to lose in the 2026 playoffs, and OKC's depth, defense, and efficiency, combined with too many Lakers turnovers, resulted in a third-straight double-digit victory. LA is on the brink of elimination and running out of answers against the defending champs. In the East, the New York Knicks made a statement, sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers out of the postseason. The Knicks advanced behind a swarming defense and a red-hot offense, with Miles McBride, starting in the wake of OG Anunoby's injury absence, dropping 25 points on 7-for-9 shooting from three in the clinching Game 4. New York is rolling and looks like a genuine Eastern Conference Finals threat. Then there's the Pistons-Cavs series, which has the makings of a classic. The top-seeded Detroit Pistons hold a 2-1 series lead after dropping a wild Game 3 to Cleveland. James Harden answered the bell with nine fourth-quarter points as the Cavs got clutch baskets down the stretch to earn their first win of the series. Can Detroit close it out, or will Cleveland's experience flip this thing around? We break it all down. On the football side, UFL Week 8 is upon us, with the playoff picture getting clearer by the week. Coming out of Week 7, the St. Louis Battlehawks improved to 5-2 with a 31-20 win over Columbus, the Louisville Kings crushed the DC Defenders 30-13 to snap their five-game winning streak, the Birmingham Stallions survived the Dallas Renegades 21-17 in overtime, and the Orlando Storm earned their fifth straight victory. With three weeks left in the regular season, every game matters, and we've got the full breakdown. And finally, breaking NFL news. After nine seasons with the Cleveland Browns, tight end David Njoku is heading to Los Angeles, signing a one-year deal with the Chargers worth up to $8 million. Njoku joins a Chargers tight end room that already includes Oronde Gadsden and Charlie Kolar, giving Justin Herbert and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel one of the most dangerous position groups in football heading into 2026. We give our full take on the fit and what it means for the Chargers' Super Bowl window. #NBAPlayoffs #NBA2026 #Timberwolves #Spurs #AnthonyEdwards #Wembanyama #OKCThunder #Lakers #Knicks #76ers #Pistons #Cavaliers #UFL #UFLWeek8 #DavidNjoku #Chargers #NFLNews #KornerBoothPodcast
