Everyone is bored. So were we. The Relatively Speaking Podcast, once again, is back with a random edition of the show. In this episode, musician Nick Zav joins the show to talk about everything under the sun, including his music. Other topics: What is everyone doing during this debacle? YouTube is dominating Nick and Joe's lives. Best Sports Movies Ever... with MULTIPLE Ed O'Neil references. So much more. It's all over the place, kids. Listen to Nick's music on Spotify or Apple. His music is all that and a bag of chips. Some might even dare say it's the cat's meow. The GOAT is on Twitter here. Support Joe and Jared by following them on the mean streets of twitter @JMintzHoops and @JosephNardone. For real, jokes aside, be safe.
Once dormant, the Relatively Speaking Podcast returns to yell about cats, talk about the Lakers, Nets and Knicks. Also, man, butter knives are dangerous.
On this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast: A random Star Wars tangent. New NBA rules... ? The Knicks stink. The James Wiseman saga. The Walking Dead could be so much better. Follow Jared @JMintzHoops and Joseph @JosephNardone - his work at Forbes here - and his Newsletter of Enchantment.
After a long hiatus, the Relatively Speaking Podcast returns with the fury of one exploding sun. On this edition of the show, the guys discuss a variety of topics, including the entire fallout that comes with Kawhi Leonard choosing the Los Angeles Clippers over the Toronto Raptors and Los Angeles Lakers. New York Knicks talk is also involved, as is Joseph shoehorning in a few college basketball references. The show ends with Absurd Questions, which somehow involves possibly eating people. You can listen to and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast: iTunes – Anchor – Google Podcasts – Spotify – Breaker – Overcast – Pocket Casts– RadioPublic – Stitcher. Joseph Nardone has covered college basketball for nearly a decade at various outlets. You can follow him on Twitter @JosephNardone. The sports media industry landscape is constantly changing, and FanRag sports is changing with it. After 132 episodes, Jared Mintz and Joseph Nardone (that's right, he's back) wrap up their podcast by reflecting on the last couple of years, their careers to this point as writers, where the industry's been and where it's going. The duo, who also host the Off The Wall Podcast for The Knicks Wall, fondly reminisce on some of their previous stops as writers, the running gag that the podcast would be cancelled shortly after it kicked off, and some of their favorite episodes and conversations with their esteemed guests. They also make fun of Kevin Durant, because they're blogger boys and he's not. For amateur basketball coverage and takes on Marty Jannetty, you can follow Joseph on Twitter at @JosephNardone. With almost a week in between meaningful NBA games, myself and millions of others are going crazy just waiting for the second half of the season to pick back up. Returning to the show for his third appearance, and helping Jared discuss the most important and interesting storylines for the last leg of the season is Josh Eberly. Josh is a member of the Professional Basketball Writers Association, and is a contributor for Hoop Mag, as well as the host of the Hot Takes and Shot Fakes Podcast. The two talk about Cleveland being the team to beat in the East, the Rockets being incredible close to the Warriors, Kawhi Leonard's strange situation in San Antonio, and LeBron's future. To stay in the loop of what's important on NBA Twitter, make sure you follow Josh at @JoshEberley. The NBA had a wild trade deadline last week, and with All-Star weekend literally hours away from tipping off, there's only one team that we should all be talking about. No, the Relatively Speaking Podcast is not going to discuss the Cleveland Cavaliers, rather the team that worked with them to fix their problems and potentially steal their franchise's greatest player in free agency this upcoming summer...the Los Angeles Lakers! Joining Jared to discuss one of the NBA's most prominent franchises is Jacob Rude, who is a contributor for Lakers Outsiders, and the host of the Coast 2 Coast Podcast. Jared and Jacob talk about the Lakers' youth movement, long term plans for Isaiah Thomas and Julius Randle, and whether or not they have a shot at LeBron. For great Lakers and NBA thoughts you can follow Jacob on Twitter at @JacobRude. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
The NBA is the greatest league in professional sports. Even with Super Bowl LII on deck, all we can talk about is NBA All-Star weekend, LeBron's drama in Cleveland, DeMarcus Cousins season ending injury, and James Harden's ridiculousness. And then, unexpectedly, five-time All-Star Blake Griffin gets traded in the prime of his career! The Clippers moving Griffin to Detroit represents the death of Lob City, which was more than likely the franchise's most glorious run. Joining Jared to discuss the end of an era, Blake's legacy, the future for Los Angeles's other team, and the potential of landing LeBron is Rob Flom, column editor for SB Nation's Clippers blog Clips Nation. For great Clippers and NBA content, and other thoughtful tweets, you can follow Rob on Twitter at @RichHomieFlom. Between Chris Paul's controversial return to the Staples Center, Arron Afflalo literally trying to take Nemanja Bjelica head off, and the Cavs dropping five of their last six games and looking like the worst defense the NBA has seen in years, things are heating up around the NBA. Somewhere in the background of the madness has been the Chicago Bulls, who are 15-8 since Nikola Mirotic returned to the team in early December, and have won 4 of their last 5 games. After trading Jimmy Butler during the offseason, the Bulls are in full rebuilding mode, and things are seemingly further along than expected. Joining Jared to make sense of the Bulls hot stretch and talk about their young core is Vijay Vemu, who covers the team for SB Nation's BlogABull.com. You can follow Vijay on Twitter at @VJVemu. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
Considering we haven't talked about the New York Knicks since the Carmelo trade, Jared had a special guest on the podcast to discuss his hometown team. Joining the show this week is Bryan Gibberman, who used to host the Podium Game Podcast, and has made several appearances on the LockedOn Knicks podcast. Bryan doesn't hold any punches when it comes to discussing the Knicerbockers, and with strong ties to the Michigan basketball program, he was the perfect person to talk to about a potential Tim Hardaway Jr./Trey Burke reunion. Bryan also had a special guest column for The Knicks Wall this week, where he discussed the below average job that Knicks' coach Jeff Hornacek has done this season. For mostly rational Knicks, Phoenix Suns and other NBA takes, and the occasional New York Jets bashing, make sure you follow Bryan on Twitter at @Gibberman10. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
The Toronto Raptors have the second best record in the East, but lead the conference in ret rating, and have been one of the most exciting teams to watch in all of the NBA over the last couple of months. Joining Jared to discuss their hot start, and whether it's sustainable, is Sean Woodley, who writes and hosts a podcast for LockedOn Raptors, and contributes to SB Nation's Raptors HQ. Sean opens the show explaining how Masai Ujiri and Dwane Casey have implemented a culture change, before getting into what makes DeMar DeRozan so good. The two also discuss preserving Kyle Lowry, the team's depth being driven by a youth movement and more. Keep up with great Raptors content and other fire sports tweets by following Sean on Twitter at @WoodleySean. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
As we prepare our good-byes for 2017, Jared dedicates this episode of the Relatively Speaking Podcast to his five most important NBA storylines from the past year, as well as the five things he's most excited for in 2018. The Golden State Warriors won their second championship in three seasons, but was it a big deal? Why don't people like Kevin Durant anymore? Who are the league's new must-watch stars? Jared covers these topics, heart-wrenching break-ups, and also, happily, leaves the Phil Jackson/Carmelo Anthony Knicks in 2017. For the future, we look at reasons we won't see the Cavs and Warriors meet up again in the NBA Finals, both in 2018 and beyond. Will there by a blockbuster trade? If so, this episode looks at the candidates for relocation. And don't worry, Lavar Ball gets a shout-out as well. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.?
After talking about the Cleveland Cavaliers surprisingly yet unsurprisingly taking over the Eastern Conference last week, the Relatively Speaking Podcast went back to the top of the West this week, to discuss a couple of teams in Texas who are giving the Golden State Warriors a run for their money. Helping Jared make sense out of the surging Houston Rockets, and the early success of a Kawhi-less San Antonio Spurs team is Kelly Scaletta, whose writing can be found at Fanrag Sports, Bleacher Report, Dime Uproxx and BBall Breakdown
If you've been keeping up with the NBA, and the Relatively Speaking Podcast for that matter, you know there are few topics, teams and players more worthy of discussion at the moment than the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James. After a 5-7 start, the Cavs have reeled off 13 wins in their last 14 games, and are back near the top of the Eastern Conference. Joining Jared to discuss the Cavs righting the ship, LeBron having a career-year in his 15th season in the league, unsung heroes, and more is Carter Rodriguez. Carter writes for SB Nation Cav's blog Fear the Sword, and he's the co-host of The Chase Down podcast with Justin Rowan For Jeff Green stanning, great Cavs/NBA takes and the occasional Twitter beef with less than favorable former sports reporters turned political voices, make sure you're following Carter at @Carter_Shade. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
After taking a Thanksgiving week break, the Relatively Speaking Podcast has returned, with a very special guest. Joining Jared this week is the first person he ever recorded a podcast with, Varoon Bose, who's a social media specialist with a focus on the NBA for Bleacher Report. Jared and Varoon go back several years, having written and podcasted at the now defunct Bro Jackson together, and they reunited to discuss Varoon's hometown team the Portland Trail Blazers and other general NBA current events. The show takes a look at the Blazers' surprisingly good defense, if their hot start has been smoke and mirrors, and some of the team's unsung heroes. You can get great NBA content, iffy food takes, and hilarious memes and GIFS by following Varoon on Twitter at @VaroonBose. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.?
The Boston Celtics are the hottest team in the NBA, and the Relatively Speaking Podcast had on one of their biggest followers to discuss what's going right so far. If you're on Twitter you probably know him as Snottie Drippen, but James Holas is an incredibly talented writer who eats, sleeps and breathes the NBA. Before getting into the Celtics, Jared and James talk about the Oklahoma City Thunder's slow start, and if the pieces all fit together. They also discussed OKC's elite defense, and if it's for real. You can find James' writing at BBallBreakdown and Real Ball Insiders, and check out his NBA podcast The B.O.D. Pod on All Mighty Baller Radio. If you aren't already, make sure you follow him on Twitter as the infamous @SnottieDrippen. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
We had a pretty big trade in the NBA this week, as the Eric Bledsoe saga came to an end, with the 28 year old guard being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for Greg Monroe's expiring contract and a first round pick. To help Jared make sense of the trade, as well as the status of a topsy turvy Eastern Conference is Bucks' writer and podcaster extraordinaire Ti Windisch! After rapid fire questions, Jared and Ti open up the show discussing why the Bucks made the trade, and how it could help propel them to the top of the East. You can find Ti's writing at The Step Back and FanSided's Behind the Buck Pass, and check out his NBA podcast Timeout with Ti. Keep up with Ti on Twitter @TiWindisch. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.?
The NBA season is back and so is the Relatively Speaking Podcast! After taking a week off, Jared's back with a familiar personality joining him as this week's guest. That's right, former Relatively Speaking Podcast Joseph Nardone makes his long anticipated return to the show to help make sense of the young basketball season. After exchanging pleasantries and getting caught up with one another, Jared and Joseph create their own version of "buy or sell" to discuss early season narratives. Can Kristaps Porzingis lead the NBA in scoring? Will LeBron's Cavs bounce back? How good are hot-starters like the Grizzlies, Clippers and Magic? You can keep up with Joseph and his college basketball takes by following him on Patreon, and by reading his work at UnpaidLaborers. Stick around for said fire takes and bad jokes on Twitter at @JosephNardone. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher. ??
Not only are we just a day away from the NBA season tipping off with Kyrie Irving returning to Cleveland, and Chris Paul making his Rockets debut against the defending champion Warriors, we're also wrapping up our NBA season preview today! After running through the Western Conference with Aimee Stiegemeyer last week, Jared goes over the East with FanRag's own Nekias Duncan. Get excited for the NBA season by checking out Nekias's work and follow along with Miami Heat Beat this NBA season. You can also get A+ puns and great pizza tweets by following Nekias on Twitter at @NekiasNBA.As always, follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
With the New York Knicks already sitting at 0-3 and the NBA preseason under way, it's officially time for the Relatively Speaking Podcast to begin previewing the 2017-18 season. Joining Jared to preview the Western Conference is Aimee Stiegemeyer, the co-founder and co-editor of Memphis Grizzlies blog All Heart in Hoop City. Aimee is a long time friend of the podcast, whose statue resides in the Ask Me Anything Hall of Fame. The two discussed what it's going to take to beat the Warriors, how the Rockets and Thunder stack up against Golden State, the Wolves and Nuggets' improvements, and the perennially slept on Spurs. Make sure you follow along with All Heart in Hoop City this NBA season (they cover the WNBA and G-League too!), and follow Aimee on Twitter at @HoopCityHellCat. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
It feels like the NFL season literally just kicked off yesterday, yet we're a quarter of the way through the campaign. Without any teams prevailing as dominant, we take a look around the league at some of the trends we've seen, what we think will hold up, and what we aren't quite buying yet. Jared goes out of his way to prop up fellow great-name haver Jared Goff, as well as, Blake Bortles? He quickly dials back the Bortles love, but admits that the Jacksonville Jaguars could be for real, and could have a legitimate shot at winning the AFC South. Staying in the AFC, we also look at the legitimacy of the Kansas City Chiefs hot start, MVP candidate Alex Smith, and why we shouldn't be freaking out about the New England Patriots sitting below the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets in the AFC East. We then head to the NFC, where Jared rants about hating on Odell Beckham Jr., and the uncertainty surrounding some of the conference's best teams. It wouldn't be possible to have this show and completely ignore the return of NBA preseason basketball, but Jared tries to temper his takes. Key word, tries. Check in for his Carmelo Anthony takes, Kristaps Porzingis love, and what he thinks the most under the radar move of the offseason was. As always, follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
We waited all summer, if not the last couple of years, for it to happen. The New York Knicks finally traded Carmelo Anthony this weekend, sending him to the Oklahoma City Thunder to be paired with fellow All-Stars Russell Westbrook and Paul George. To discuss this significant Knicks' news, Jared paired with Twitter/podcast All-Stars Kyle Maggio and Trey Teamer of The Knicks Wall! The three shared their thoughts on the trade, the end of the rumors, Melo's legacy with the Knicks, his value to the Thunder, as well as what Enes Kanter and Doug McDermott can offer to a Knicks team with low expectations. Kyle is the associate editor for The Knicks Wall, as well as a bad food opinion haver, and can be followed on Twitter at @MaggioNBA. Trey is the social media editor for The Knicks Wall, and provides great basketball takes and hilarity for his personal account at @treyzingis. If you aren't already, go follow @TheKnicksWall for all of your Knicks news, cool (unofficial) team merchandise, and great content.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast put the wraps on the NBA offseason this week with FiveThirtyEight and ESPN Senior NBA writer Chris Herring. Jared and Chris go back a few years to when Chris covered the New York Knicks for the Wall Street Journal, as the two discuss Carmelo Anthony's crazy offseason, his place in today's NBA, and where we can expect to see him play his games this upcoming season. Chris also discusses the impact of Chris Paul being traded to the Houston Rockets, why it might take the Boston Celtics some time to figure things out before dethroning LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, and teams he doesn't think are getting enough attention heading into the season. Of course Jared couldn't let the podcast finish without asking about the Knicks' beat, where Chris shared some of his best (and worst) experiences about one of the first jobs of his career. Chris is one of the best people to follow on Twitter when it comes to NBA news and analysis. You can follow him at @Herring_NBA, and check out his columns on ESPN/FiveThirtyEight.
The big story in the NFL this weekend was the Dallas Cowboys suffocating the New York Giants, and Jared thinks it was in large part due to Odell Beckham Jr.'s absence. He goes on to praise the Cowboys, especially second-year quarterback Dak Prescott, but discusses how important Beckham is if the Giants want to live up to their preseason hype. Under things he didn't expect to see, Jared discusses Alex Smith's prowess, the Cleveland Browns hanging close with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and impressive showings from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams. We then move to results that were disappointing, including the Seattle Seahawks continuing their offensive woes in road games, the highly touted New England Patriots defense getting smoked, and bad Andy Dalton showing up 17 weeks too early. Among players who pleasantly surprised this weekend were Carson Wentz, Marshawn Lynch, and Matthew Stafford, all of whom play vital roles for teams with playoff aspirations. Not to be overlooked, there was also some fantasy football advice sprinkled throughout the show, as you should make sure Kenny Golloday, Tarik Cohen, and Andre Ellington are all owned in your leagues. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
To celebrate the return of the NFL, the Relatively Speaking Podcast invited Joe Marino onto the program to help preview the 2017 season. A member of the Football Writers Association of America, Joe writes about the NFL, College Football and the NFL Draft for FanRag Sports. He's also the co-host of the Draft Dudes podcast with Kyle Crabbs, as well as the AD of NDT Scouting To kick things off, Joe insists the Patriots are still the team to beat in the AFC (and the NFL), and that there's only one other team in the conference they should be even remotely afraid of. Joe also makes clear that the NFC seems a bit more unpredictable this season than the AFC, and that there are at least four teams he thinks have a legitimate shot at getting to the Super Bowl. If you love football, Joe is a must-follow on Twitter, where he breaks down all levels of the sport. Follow him @TheJoeMarino, check out his columns here, and listen to the Draft Dudes podcast. As always, follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher
??Despite NFL preseason takes, Connor McGregor looking better than anyone could have realistically expected this weekend against Floyd Mayweather, and the beginning of the home stretch of MLB madness, the Relatively Speaking Podcast had big NBA news to breakdown this week. It's crazy that in a summer that's seen All-Stars Chris Paul, Paul George, and Jimmy Butler get traded, the BIGGEST summer blockbuster trade took place just last week, with the summer winding down. The Cleveland Cavaliers granted Kyrie Irving's trade request, and sent the four time All-Star to conference rival Boston for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, the Brooklyn Nets first round pick in 2018, and 2016 first round pick Ante Zizic. To help Jared discuss this mega deal, he enlisted the help of Justin Rowan, host of the The Chase Down podcast with Carter Rodriguez, and contributor for SB Nation Cav's blog Fear The Sword. Jared asks Justin how the Kyrie trade impacted him both as an objective NBA observer, as well as someone with vested interest in the Cavaliers. The two also discuss the bridging of the gap between Cleveland and Boston in the Eastern Conference, expectations for this year's Cavs team without Irving, and what the future has in store for LeBron James and his hometown team. If you aren't doing so already, Justin is a must follow on Twitter, where when he isn't talking Cavs/NBA, he's going viral for his hilarious tweets. Follow him at @Cavsanada, and catch his Cavs' columns at SB Nation's Fear the Sword.
Jared enlisted the help of one of his Twitter pals/favorite fantasy football writers, the infallible Kevin Lewis, to record an all-encompassing primer for the 2017 NFL season. Before chopping it up about American football, Kevin shared his love for the Dallas Cowboys, his disdain for Chipotle, and which popular tweeter he'd select to deliver an old-fashioned knuckle sandwich to. Other topics of conversation include: Ezekiel Elliot's draft value, and how high to select other Cowboys running backs.Unproven running backs who project to be drafted in the first four rounds.Teams to target - and stay away from - when drafting.Old running backs with favorable situations.Potential breakout players.Strategies for selecting quarterbacks and tight ends. The tragedy of Sammy Watkins having to play with Jared Goff and the Los Angeles Rams. If you aren't already, Kevin is a must follow on Twitter, where he delivers NFL and NBA takes, with an occasional fake RT. You can follow him at @KLew24 and catch his fantasy football columns at OpusMagOnline. As always, you can follow Jared on Twitter at @JMintzhoops, and subscribe to the Relatively Speaking Podcast on iTunes and Stitcher.
On today's edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, it is magically Major League Baseball heavy. Before professional slapstick is discussed, however, the guys discuss coffee pots and gas stoves. Important stuff in our humble opinion. Jared and Joseph also talk Barry Bonds being the goat and how the Miami Marlins should not trade the only player worth watching in that entire state. It wouldn't be a Relatively Speaking Podcast if the guys didn't also discuss Kristaps Porzingis apparently not being on the trading block. While the New York Knicks often New York Knick the heck out of stuff, this isn't one of them. Finally, it is probably worth mentioning this is the last edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast as you know it. Joseph says a goodbye and thanks everyone for his chance to barely speak works and incoherently form sentences. The show ends with Absurd Questions. ?
The Relatively Speaking is back to bring you wonderful entertainment by way of dropping the most wonderful sounds inside your ear holes. It is also back with enough vengeance that Bruce Willis would be upset that he wasn’t walking around New York City half naked trying to solve some puzzles. In fact, there's so much tomfoolery happening in this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast that you can't even hit it with a stick -- not that you should be trying to physically harm your favorite podcast. Did Jared have a fun time at his friend's bachelor party this weekend? Did Joseph and his father cheat to win money at a family reunion? So many important questions with so few solid answers. As for the sports stuff: A very random Christian Hackenberg segment happens. Is Christian Hackenberg the future?Does other NFL players peacefully protesting help Colin Kaepernick?Marvin Bagley, one of the nation's best high school players, is how good now? What does Bagley do for a USC, UCLA or Duke if he commits to one of those programs?Luka Doncic is becoming one of America's new sweethearts. Is the hype going to match the actual player? The show ends with Absurd Questions. How many points can Jared and Joseph score in a Chinese professional basketball game if given solid run on the court? What is the most hungover the guys have been while being forced to do something active the day of the hangover? Also, Jared makes deposits at Disney World. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. The same for the other guy @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to air the greatest edition of any podcast in the history of live noises being recorded through third-hand applications! Jared and Joseph immediately go off the rails on an episode that was designed to go off the rails. Joseph discusses how he and his father plan to cheat in a tournament at their family reunion so they can make a few extra dollars. It isn't the most sane thing ever discussed, nor is the plan to win money actually in place, but it makes for a weird weekend preview. As for Jared, he is going to a bachelor party this weekend. He provides very little details, as he fears his wife or employer may be listening to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. The show itself is about other shows. The co-hosts actually create a show in a show. Magically, it is about the TV show Lost in an airplane or something -- more than likely something, but don't worry about the semantics. Either way, you get to hear some weird casting choices by your favorite podcast hosts. That's not all! The guys received a handful of AMAs from the incredibly loyal Relatively Speaking Podcast listenership. Would Mighty Mouse or Jerry from 'Tom & Jerry' win in a fight to the death? Why is it almost impossible to be able to guess how hard a person can throw a baseball solely based on appearance? Is Nikola Jokic already better than Michael Jordan and LeBron James? Is Ron Baker the worst player in league history with a no-trade clause? Are you familiar with Wilt Chamberlain’s alleged alias George Marcus? There's another question not suitable for digital publication
Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. A podcast designed to insert the most insightful and entertaining sounds into your ears via the sultry noises coming out of the orifice of Jared Mintz. Some other guy co-hosts the podcast as well. It is a slow news cycle in sports. That is unless you love Major League Baseball. While Jared and Joseph love the slapstick, it isn't exactly in their wheelhouse. The show begins as all shows should, as the guys immediately go off the rails. Joseph has finally begun to watch The Leftovers. This leads the dastardly duo into a 10 minute discussion about television show spoilers, what good shows are out there, and if either of them will ever begin to consume Game of Thrones. Also, spoiler alert, Joseph tells a story about Sons of Anarchy being spoiled for him. In the process, he spoils the show for everyone else unintentionally. Then it is off to actual sports. Darren Daulton died. Joseph tells a quick story about being convinced Tom Berenger's character in Major League being based off Dutch while not caring if the movie happened before 1993 or not. The Miami Dolphins signed Jay Cutler. The guys giggle at the idea of giving an aged, coming off injury Cutler $10 million as opposed to just letting Matt Moore stink. Seriously... the Dolphins are going to stink no matter what, right? This edition of the show ends with Absurd Questions. Would you rather fight a clown or a mime with brass knuckles? There was another question, but this Internet Scribbler always forgets Jared's question. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. Joseph is over yonder @JosephNardone.
Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. A place where noises emit from the hosts and sometimes results insightful commentary or delightfully charming jokes. Oh, who are we kidding? The Relatively Speaking Podcast is the best podcast ever and always emits the best noises possible. In fact, of the three people polled, all three would tell you how wonderful this specific podcast is. On today's episode, the guys talk about some of the latest happenings around the world of sports. How many quarterbacks need to get hurt before Colin Kaepernick gets a chance? What in the hell is wrong with the Baltimore Ravens?Do the Ravens have the worst PR team ever?New York Jets safety Jamal Adams says stuff about dying on a field and the world is confused.Way too early NFL hot-takes and predictions! The guys then discuss Michael Jordan pushing the LeBron James or Kobe Bryant debate. Joseph believes Jordan is doing this for a certain reason. In typical Relatively Speaking Podcast form, this becomes its own segment. Which one? The wildly popular and totally speculatory Conspiracy Theories segment! The show closes as do most Friday editions, with fan-favorite segment, AMA. Do you prefer your sheets tucked or untucked? This one gets heated. If you can be a juror for any trial in the history of the world, which one would it be and why? Jared and Joseph are both, apparently, cowards. You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The same can be done with the other guy @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever. In fact, you can ask anybody about the return of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, and you know what they would tell you? “The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever.” This is factual. Seriously ... just ask someone. On this edition of the show, the guys continue to touch on basketball-related subjects even though no games are being played. Also on this episode, Jared and Joseph do their first true segment on the UFC. To start this show, Joseph opines about better weather to cut grass with and Jared says he is a liar. Jared discusses if holding some infants over the weekend makes him want to have a baby. As always, riveting stuff. Jon Jones won over the weekend. Good or bad?Do we trust him to stay eligible? Are the guys excited for a possible Jon Jones-Brock Lesnar fight?Does Jared or Joseph know a singular MMA term? Then it is off to discuss The BIG3. Allen Iverson no-showed an event and... haha.Has this been a complete disaster? Is The BIG3 the feds? Will it even be back next year? The show ends with Absurd Questions. Joseph asks about zombies, vampires and mummies. Jared asked something as well, but people always forget what he asks because they are still recovering from him pondering if he'd rather die by drowning or fire. You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The other guy is over @JosephNardone.
On this edition of the podcast, the guys have a very special guest lined up. Mirin Fader -- of the OC Register, Bleacher Report Magazine, SLAM, and others -- joins the show. Before our interview with one of the best long form writers on the planet, Jared and Joseph begin the show by discussing some of the weirder things in life. Important subjects such as: What are the two doing today? Bad jokes! What are the weekend plans! Riveting stuff as always. Per Relatively Speaking Podcast law, the interview starts with five rabid fire questions. Find out what Mirin thinks of the chances of whales and humans living side-by-side. She also discusses her love of pandas. Jared claims an athlete as a New Yorker, even though she is a native of a town a few thousand miles away. This edition of rabid fire questions was very legitimate. As for the real part of the interview: Mirin discusses her journey as a sports writer; what she did prior to writing; what inspires her; the state of the industry; breaking through glass ceilings; and so much more. Mirin was easily one of the podcast's best and most enlightening guests. One of the last things touched on was Mirin's latest feature for Bleacher Report. It was on the "The real first family of hoops." It is on the Ogwumike sisters and you should read that wonderful piece right here. The show ends as it often does, with Absurd Questions. Joseph asks: If you can reboot or take over a TV show from a creative position, which one would it be and why? Jared asks: How would you prefer to die... drowning or in a fire?
The Relatively Speaking Podcast returns with the fury of 1,000 suns. It also returns just in time to discuss the latest happenings in the world of sports. If you want to have a good time and also gain insight, there isn't a better place to do it than by listening to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. For the first time in a long time, the podcast does not start on the morbid side. Instead, we find out that Jared is sick as a dog and that Joseph likes his new lawnmower so much that he cut his grass twice this weekend. Really riveting and important stuff, to be honest. As for actual things talked about on the Relatively Speaking Podcast: Kyrie Irving has reportedly asked for a trade.Should the Cleveland Cavaliers oblige? Is Irving a number-one type of talent? What does this mean for LeBron James? What is a reasonable offer for Kyrie Irving?Should the New York Knicks pull the trigger on this? Then it is off to fan favorite segment, Things On Our Mind, where Joseph discusses Law & Order without regard for the human spirit. Jared hates the franchise for some reason. Absurd Questions closes this edition of the podcast. Jared asks about what college alumni team would win The Basketball Tournament.Joseph wants to know what we want to hear (your) God say to us when/if we get to heaven. You can follow Jared on Twitter over at this place @JMintzHoops. Joseph is on those same mean streets @JosephNardone.
?The Relatively Speaking Podcast is now officially 101 episodes deep. If you had a time machine, traveled back to the very first show, there is no doubt you saw this coming. In fact, you can ask anybody about the first edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, and you know what they would tell you? "This is for sure going to last at least 101 episodes." Facts only. First thing is first, we want to thank again Matt Moore for being our guest on the 100th episode of the show. He was great. However, because we had him on to talk life after death and the NBA, we were unable to do a fancy celebration episode. For regular fans, think of this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast as one where we look back on our best moments and workshop some ideas -- as well as ask you guys for more feedback as to what you like and hate about the show. For new listeners, consider this your soft welcome to the show. We explain some of the inside jokes, how we got here, and the general origin story of this entire debacle that is certainly the greatest (barely about) sports podcast on the planet. The show does end with its usual Friday AMA segment. No matter who you are or what you do, this is an edition of the show you can tell your grandchildren about in a decade... or something. Thanks to all for listening. Here is to 101 more episodes and 2,034,343 more bad dad jokes! You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. The other loser is over yonder @JosephNardone.
This is a very special edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Not only is Matt Moore, of CBS fame, a guest on this episode, but it is the 100th show. Thank you to everyone who has been around for the wild ride, bad jokes and iffy sports takes. By law of having a guest on, the Relatively Speaking Podcast begins by asking Moore five random questions. In a random question segment first, there was a followup to something asked. Things not only get interesting, but Matt drops some really incredible philosophical ideas on our craniums by way of our ear canals. After the tomfoolery is out of the way, there's even more shenanigans, but within the realm of basketball. What is happening with the Lonzo Ball hype? The rookies that are worth keeping an eye on? Did any team actually close the gap on the Golden State Warriors and/or Cleveland Cavaliers? Is the banana boat thing an actual thing or is it a figment of our creative imaginations? What's next for LeBron James if Dan Gilbert Dan Gilberts all over himself? What team in the Western Conference is going to make a huge jump next season? Of course, some Denver Nuggets conversation. Following some insightful basketball conversations, the show ends as it always does on Monday, with Absurd Questions. This is a rather violence-heavy edition of Absurd Questions. Listen at your own risk. Also, find out who Matt wants to punch... kind of. You can follow Matt on Twitter at both @HPbasketball and @MattMooreCBS. Jared can be followed over yonder @JMintzHoops. As for the loser guy, he's @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking is back to bring you wonderful entertainment by way of dropping the most wonderful sounds inside your ear holes. It is also back with enough vengeance that Bruce Willis would be upset that he wasn't walking around New York City half naked trying to solve some puzzles. In this edition of the wold's most beloved podcast: The New York Knicks hire a new general manager! What does this mean for the franchise? Joseph compares James Dolan to Radio Shaq. He then compares NYK's front-office people to those old Radio Shaq robot dogs. Jared is happy about the hire, but remains pessimistic. Will the NBA franchise be stuck on the two-yard line with the reported Carmelo Anthony deal? Then it is off to Put The Poop In The Basket: Why are NFL players so confused by the money NBA players maker? Jared and Joseph discuss simple math to help the situation. If you're nickname is "Money" and it is created by yourself, you have to live up to the moniker, right? There is a giant race war happening in a certain combat sport fight promotion at the moment. Hooray... we guess? It is all kind of gross. The show ends as it always does on a Friday, with our AMA segment. Would you where the mink coat Conor McGregor wore on Thursday? Will the Knicks fans regret not having drafted Donovan Mitchell or Dennis Smith Jr.?
The Relatively Speaking Podcast returns from a weekend of tomfoolery to politely drop entertainment into your cranium via your ear passages. With the NBA dominating more of the sports schedule than ever before, it is no shock that this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast is basketball heavy. But don't worry, friends. The podcast goes off the rails just enough to keep things interesting. Things the dastardly duo discussed: The New York Knicks wouldn't give actual power to David Griffin. What in the hell, James Dolan? Is Dolan really just a misunderstood figure who is incredibly loyal to his friends? Does the fact that it is the Knicks who messed this up actually put Griffin in a better position moving forward? NBA Summer League players who have stood out. Guys from the Summer League who have been woeful and disappointing. Joseph has grown tired of LaVar Ball while Jared gives him credit for people watching Summer League. Did Joseph get fat or hit the gym? The show closes as it always does on a Monday -- with Absurd Questions. Jared asks: Can the best three players in the BIG3 beat the worse three players in Summer League? Joseph asks: Who would win in a fight, a dinosaur of your choice or a robot from Pacific Rim? You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The other guy can also be found on Twitter @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to give you all the Gordon Hayward looks like he stole the real Gordon Hayward and cloned a more muscular version of him takes! Setting aside a fictitious Hayward messing with the real one's DNA, the Relatively Speaking Podcast was straight fire in this specific episode. First, and most importantly, we discuss Jared's birthday. He turned 32 on Friday. Yay! Hooray. Yippie! All the positivity. That is, uh, until we discuss the meaning of life for some reason and decide that when we die nothing at all happens. Pretty morbid start to the show to be honest. Gordon Hayward is now a member of the Boston Celtics. Does his help Boston close the gap between them and the Cleveland Cavaliers? Does this make other assets more movable? Is Danny Ainge building toward more of a youth movement? Speaking of the Cavs, Dan Gilbert has yet to hire a general manager. Joseph tends to think this is awful, as it is providing even more reason for LeBron James to get out of the directionless organization after next season. We close this episode of the podcast as we do every Friday -- by answering questions from our very loyal, good looking, and intelligent fans. Should the New York Knicks hurl the rookies to the fire from day-one? What television death altered our life the most? Twitter Mount Rushmore... You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. Same with that other guy @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast woke up early on a Monday morning to swiftly insert entertainment into your cranium via the soft and luscious tones of Jared Mintz and Joseph Nardone. It has been a really busy week in NBA free agency. Major trades, major signings, and all the rumors to keep a basketball junkie away from the evil that is Major League Baseball. We kid. We kid. We love slapstick. After recapping some of the recent action, Jared and Joseph opine for a world where people stop counting J.J. Redick's money. Seriously, guys. It was a one-year deal. The front-end money isn't all that bad when you realize the Sixers have a billion players on rookie contracts -- AND IT IS FOR ONE YEAR! Paul George to Oklahoma City, Chris Paul to Houston, and a few other notable moves, has there been any shift of power out in the Western Conference? Did you guys hear about John Calipari to the New York Knicks? Jared did, and he is irrationally angry about the entire ordeal. As for Joseph, he discusses why he enjoys all of this nonsense and can see a day (off in the future) when Cal hits the NBA and does relatively well. The show closes as every Monday show ends -- with Absurd Questions. Jared wants to know what sport Joseph would be most afraid to play. Joseph asks Jared if he'd rather, you know, an alien or a ghost... really classy stuff. Follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. You can do the same with the other guy @JosephNardone.
Phil Jackson's no longer the President of the New York Knicks and Jared and Joseph are back for a special Wednesday edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast! What was originally intended to be a special Free Agency Preview episode with special guest Charley Rosen, became a Phil/Knicks extravaganza, as Rosen offered insights as to why his former coaching buddy and fellow triangle aficionado was fired just two months after having the final two years of his contract picked up. Rosen also spoke to Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis not buying into the triangle offense, the role the media played in Jackson's failure, and the deterioration of the quality of basketball being played in today's NBA. Jared and Joseph didn't let Rosen off the hook easily though, as they asked about Phil's inability to adapt to his roster, his communication shortcomings, and what would motivate Jackson to possibly re-sign Derrick Rose. It is also worth noting that Charley was a good enough sport to participate in the Relatively Speaking Podcast's famous "five rapid questions." Ever wonder why he's not on Twitter or if he thinks Bill Russell can beat up Shaq in a fistfight? Wonder no more, Earthlings! Regardless if you agree or disagree with Rosen's takes, this was an insightful interview with a man who's spent over five decades around the game of basketball, and has as good of a perspective on Jackson's thought process as anyone out there. You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The same for the other, more good looking host @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever. In fact, you can ask anybody about the return of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, and you know what they would tell you? "The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and better than ever." On this edition of the show, the guys continue to touch on basketball related subjects even though no games are being played. But wait... we lied! There are games taking place. It just so happens to be in Ice Cube's BIG3 league. After the show begins with Joseph discussing his walloping of family members during a Frisbee game at his daughter's graduation party, the hot-takes begin. The Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers have a small Twitter beef going. The guys discuss how it is harmless, yet incredibly delightful. With the BIG3 starting, yet airing on tape delay, Jared and Joseph discuss the prospects for the league. Both admit they will tune in to give it a shot, but aren't too optimistic about the entire situation. The hosts openly ponder the current situation of D'Angelo Russell. Furthermore, are concerned that Magic Johnson gave up on the young guard far too soon (Joseph also fears Magic might be West Coast Phil Jackson). If you can rewrite any TV show or movie and save a character that was previously killed off, who would it be and why? If a food were president, would pizza be the leader of the free world and corn be the vice president? This was likely our most hotly debated part of the podcast. You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. The other guy is over @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back and is without a 2017 NBA Draft hangover. In fact, it is back with such great happiness that it got to consume the draft that it might name its first podcast baby "2017 NBA Draft." In what is obviously the biggest thing happening in the sports world, Jared and Joseph discuss all things draft-related. There was a lot to go through after the 2017 NBA Draft. Some picks, guys falling, and a few trades that seemed awfully one-sided. It is a lot for the casual fan to consume. Have no fear, however, because Jared and Joseph are here to ease that burden for the casual fan. Also, to make bad jokes. Did the Bulls get swindled on Thursday night? Why is Chicago rebuilding without draft picks? Phil Jackson's relationship with Kristaps Porzingis is not ideal. What are the Knicks doing? Joseph believes the much ballyhooed Sacramento draft class isn't actually good. Will Danny Ainge ever use any of his assets to do anything of worth? The Philadelphia 76ers have trusted the process. Does it have a payoff anytime soon? Player comparisons are lazy and mostly way off... and yet we still made a few. Did the Lakers get it wrong by trading away a young prospect just to dump salary? How did we consume the draft coverage? You can follow Jared on the mean streets of Twitter @JMintzHoops. If you're feeling froggy, jump! Also, follow @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to ease your basketball blues. Sure, both the NBA and college basketball seasons are over, but to those who have their heaven only be 10-feed off the ground, we're here to make sure you find your religion. On this special edition of the podcast, Cole Zwicker joins as a special guest to help sort through all of the 2017 NBA Draft hoopla. Among the things discussed: Cole is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Everyone loves Donovan Mitchell. Cole gets pretty excited about fighting ghosts. What is a Luke Kennard and how awful are player-on-player comparisons? Is Kelly Olynyk the least attractive vampire of all the times? What should Boston and Los Angeles do with its picks? Jordan Bell gets a ton of love while the center position is mostly relegated to being the running backs of the NBA. People love Josh Jackson, but there are some legitimate concerns. Joseph goes on his usual Malachi Richardson rant that results in him asking Cole if he too hates fake-draft Twitter. We would like to thank Cole for being on the Relatively Speaking Podcast. In our not so humble opinions, he's a rising NBA Draft analyst star and you should all follow him and his work. Cole can be found on the mean streets of Twitter @ColeZwicker. Jared is hanging out in the dark recesses over @JMintzHoops. Joseph doesn't know how to use the future-device @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back with more vengeance than Bruce Willis after a hangover. Also, the original Die Hard is most certainly not a Christmas movie. There is a lot of things happening in sports even though the only games being played are in Major League Baseball. The guys attempt to jump in with the best, most scorching hot takes this side of the Milky Way galaxy. To start the show, Joseph comes at Christopher Nolan hard. He argues that the Batman trilogy director, as well as other comic movie directors, stole their "grit" approach to the main characters from Raphielle in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Golden State Warriors are the champs and the game seems set for them to win another next season unless another super team rises from the ashes. Can that even happen? Jerry West is leaving Golden State to join the Los Angeles Clippers. What do we make of it? The NCAA "penalized" the Louisville Cardinals for the entire hooker/stripper scandal. What are Jared and Joseph's takes? The super-fight that will certainly sucker plenty of people out of their money is officially happening. The hosts discuss how Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor is all spectacle and no-go, but why they will watch anyway. To finish the show, the Relatively Speaking Podcast answers your most important questions. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. The other can is over @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is back to air the greatest edition of any podcast in the history of live noises being recorded through third-hand applications! In fact, you can ask anybody, and you know what they would tell you? "The Relatively Speaking Podcast recorded the best third-hand application podcast in the history of podcasts." Said anybody. On this edition, the show opens with Joseph becoming Facebook Joseph. Since he doesn't have an actual Facebook account, preventing him from talking about dad things or hot-takes, he casually ponders dad stuff with his face-orifice open and noises coming out. It is riveting. After Jared gets him back on the rails: Aaron Judge is playing baseball as if he's made three shots in a row in NBA Jam. This is great for the slapstick, but the guys want the nation to cool down on the talk of him being the face of Major League Baseball. The NBA Finals is quickly coming to a close. The guys try to make a case that maybe Cleveland can come back, then decide it is probably over after Game 5. A random discussion about the television program Community breaks out. It is probably the seven greatest minutes in the greatest recorded podcast ever. Absurd Questions closes the show. Joseph asks Jared if he would rather live in the Metal Gear, Final Fantasy VII or Last of Us universes. Jared sends a query toward Joseph what team he has rooted against the hardest in his life. Follow Jared on Twitter @JmintzHoops. Joseph can be found @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is in an Ohio State of mind. Between the Cleveland Cavaliers apparently being toast and the Ohio State Buckeyes firing Thad Matta and going through a weird coaching search, we might as well be broadcasting from Akron. To start this famed podcast, Jared and Joseph discuss the NBA Finals. LeBron James is getting too much heat for being consistently great. Weird, right? The end of Game 3 looked like a failure, but it was actually rather logical. Can Cleveland somehow add to its roster for next season to better compete? After that, the Relatively Speaking Podcast pulls a segment out of the dumpster, as Conspiracy Theories returns! Joseph has some riveting takes on the entire Ohio State situation. Not only does he understand why Gene Smith took until June to fire Matta, but he believes the hiring of Chris Holtmann was the right move. Following some college basketball hot-takes, Jared Put The Poop In The Basket by going after NFL writers for defending the league's shield. Finally, the show ends as should all properly produced podcasts -- with an AMA! Does these NBA Finals make LeBron want to leave Cleveland? Can any team do anything to counter Golden State for next season? A question concerning the 2017 NBA Draft that results in Joseph lovingly talking about nearly every second-round draft pick as if he were their father. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. Joseph can be found @JosephNardone.
Welcome back to the Relatively Speaking Podcast. Your home for sounds being made from the orifices of the hosts. You won't find another podcast in the history of podcasts with two hosts who have such wonderful oral orifices. On this edition of the Relatively Speaking Podcast, Jared and Joseph look back at the absolutely dominating performance of the Golden State Warriors through two games of the NBA Finals. Kevin Durant has been an one-of-a-kind monster. Like Shelton Benjamin, there ain't no stopping him now. Steph Curry has quietly had two huge games himself. During Game 2, he acquired his first ever playoff triple-double. Does this start to get rid of some of the iffy Curry narratives hanging around because of Game 7 last year? Joseph, very randomly, asks for Steve Kerr to play Ian Clark more. Welcome back, Kerr! In a totally not shocking development, Joseph is taking (supposedly) his two daughters to Monday Night Raw. What does he hope to see? Who are his spawns rooting for? Will Marty Jannetty make a triumphant return to the squared-circle? This episode of the podcast ends as all episodes should -- with Absurd Questions. Jared wants to know who are the best twins to have ever graced the Milky Way Galaxy. As for Joseph, he asks Jared what reality show (all-time) he would like to be a member of. It turns out both hosts are incredible cowards. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. Do the same with the other guy @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you get ready. For what exactly? Stuff! Stuff, and the 2017 NBA Finals. As usual, the show begins with some odd banter that has no place in big time championship preview podcasts. But so is life and so is the Relatively Speaking Podcast. After Jared and Joseph do their usual morning routines, it is time to discuss everything Golden State Warriors versus Cleveland Cavaliers. By everything, we mean near everything. Who are X-factors? What is an X-factor? Why do we keep inventing ways to say "guy who isn't great, but should do well in big moments" when we already have a thing called X-factor? What is at stake for LeBron James? Does Steph Curry need to win a title to win back the public? Can Kevin Durant do anything to make people consider him anything other than a world-class front-runner? There's even more discussion related to the NBA Finals than that, but we won't spoil the entire show because Jared and Joseph know you love surprises. The Relatively Speaking Podcast closes this special show with predictions that will make your heart swoon! The point here is an obvious one to note: If you want to know what is going to happen in this rubber match between these two fantastic franchises, you should probably set aside some time to consume the Relatively Speaking Podcast with -- and this is important -- BOTH of your ears (if available). You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. You can do the same with the other guy @JosephNardone.
The Relatively Speaking Podcast is here to help you end your Memorial Day weekend correctly. First and foremost, remember what -- and WHO -- the day is actually about. Your hot dogs, hamburgers and drinks with friends are all great, as is that extra day off of work, but none of us would have any of that without courageous people giving the ultimate sacrifice so when can dabble in such entitlements. This episode of the podcast is incredibly off-brand. The Relatively Speaking Podcast starts with some NHL talk. Yes. That is correct. Jared and Joseph talk slapstick! Joseph watched an E-60 over the weekend on P.K. Subban and now he's in love with the Nashville star. He wants the National Hockey League to make him the face of the sport. Jared also agrees... and he can name more than three hockey players! A true win for all hockey fans, in our not so humble opinion. Subban was the show's lone sports talking point, but that is only because there was other fish to fry in this episode. Is it called a cookout or a BBQ? What are your favorite games to play outside with friends? How about your least favorite? Best food to eat at a festivity taking place outdoors? What are the guys' preferred adult-beverages during such events? The fire takes inside are just too hot to handle. You can follow Jared on Twitter @JMintzHoops. The other guy can be found @JosephNardone. As always, thanks for all your support of the podcast!
