Welcome to Last Call, a look at the biggest stories Jim and Greg covered over the past week on the 3 Martini Lunch. This week, they discuss the resignation of President Trump's National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent, the childen of top Iranian officials teaching at American colleges and universities. and New York Gov. Kathy Hochul begging rich people who fled he state to come back so she can tax them again.First, they react to National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent stepping down and alleging that President Trump was pushed into war with Iran by Israel. Jim explains why this resignation and the accusations behind it go far beyond a typical policy disagreement.Next, they react with disbelief to reports that children of senior Iranian regime figures are living in the United States and teaching at American colleges and universities. Jim has some pointed questions for U.S. immigration officials. Then, they get a good laugh out of Kathy Hochul openly lamenting the exodus of wealthy residents from New York and urging them to return so the state can collect more tax revenue. But how she said it is also very telling. Finally, in their Chaser of the Week, they have good news for an actress at the Oscars and the cause she is so passionate about. Please visit our great sponsors:Noble Gold Investments helps you protect your future—schedule your free gold strategy session at https://NobleGoldInvestments.com/3MLYour emotional well-being matters. Why do you overreact in relationships when the situation doesn't match the emotion? Sabrina sits down with Dr. Nicole LePera, The Holistic Psychologist, to break down inner child wounds, how your nervous system stores childhood trauma before you have words to process it, and why certain dating triggers send you spiraling. They dive into emotional attunement, generational trauma, shame, and anxious attachment patterns. Dr. Nicole shares reparenting tools from her new book, Reparenting The Inner Child, including how to regulate your nervous system and stop self-abandoning in relationships. If you've ever said "I had a great childhood" but still struggle with dating anxiety or abandonment fears, this one's for you. If you're ready to slow down, trust your instincts, and break your old dating patterns, the Healthy Relationship Foundations Course walks you through it step-by-step HERE! American pop culture in the 1920s and 1930s was on the verge of a new sort of entertainment. Cultural shifts and breakthroughs in technology had led to a steady stream of new kinds of books, comics, music, and magazines, but it would be film that transformed popular culture forever. The ghostly images watched with strangers in the dark proved powerful enough to incite as well as to entertain. Soon after films gained popularity, Americans began to use them to frame their history and their identity, as well as to literally project their fears and anxieties. And among those fears were the fears of the Devil. When the Devil first began to appear in early American movies, his story was part of a heavily Christianized moral lesson. European filmmakers tended to take a far less religious approach to the Devil, using satanic lore as material for fantastic and uncanny imagery, but in America, silent films tended to avoid explicitly supernatural subjects, preferring to use the theater as a fire and brimstone pulpit – at first anyway. But darker days for the cinema were on the way. Join Jim and Greg for the Friday 3 Martini Lunch as they highlight Senate Republicans exposing Democrats' hypocrisy on voter ID, rising energy pressures tied to the Iran conflict, and the death of legendary actor and martial artist Chuck Norris.First, they credit Ohio Sen. Jon Husted for proving Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats don't mean it when they claim to support requiring photo ID in order to vote. They also point out the Democrats have a long history of opposing Voter ID under any circumstances and use absurd & inflammatory rhetoric to oppose GOP efforts to secure our elections.Next, Jim breaks down how Iran's recent missile strike on a liquefied natural gas facility in Qatar, along with tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, will strain global energy markets and drive up prices. He also explains why the war needs to continue and whether our energy independence will help to insulate the U.S.Finally, they remember martial arts icon, actor, and conservative activist Chuck Norris, who passed away at age 86. Jim and Greg discuss how Norris became a popular voice in GOP politics and how he became a larger than life figure who was beloved by people of all political stripes. Jim and Greg also have fun reciting their favorite "Chuck Norris Facts."Please visit our great sponsors:Your emotional well-being matters. Find support and feel lighter in therapy with BetterHelp. Join Jim and Greg for the Thursday 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss an FBI probe into Trump's former counterterrorism director, children of high-ranking Iranian regime officials teaching your kids in college, and a shocking report on labor icon Cesar Chavez.First, they react to the FBI investigation into whether former National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent leaked classified information while on the job. They also consider Kent's conflicting assessments about whether Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States.Next, they react with disbelief to reports that children of senior Iranian regime figures are living in the United States and teaching at American colleges and universities. Jim has some pointed questions for U.S. immigration officials. Finally, they examine the explosive New York Times report alleging that Cesar Chavez sexually abused multiple women, including minors, while he led the farm labor movement decades ago. Two women say they were just 12 and 13 years old when the abuse began, with one reporting rape at age 15. Jim and Greg discuss the significance of Chavez in Democratic politics and how these allegations will likely force a major reassessment of his legacy. Please visit our great sponsors:Your emotional well-being matters. In this deeply moving conversation, Ginny Yurich sits down with Summer Joy Gross, author of The Emmanuel Promise and host of The Presence Project Podcast, to talk about attachment, delight, childhood wounds, and the life-changing truth that God is not distant or disinterested, but fully present with us in our pain, our parenting, and our becoming. This episode is tender, wise, and immensely practical—an invitation to notice how a child's inner world is shaped, how our own stories affect the way we relate to God, and how healing often begins with being seen, soothed, and loved. Matt and Abby open up about what it feels like to raise boys in a moment where conversations around masculinity feel louder and more polarized than ever. They unpack the difference between healthy and unhealthy masculinity, how criticism aimed at grown men can be internalized by young boys, and the role social media plays in amplifying extremes. They also share their biggest hopes as parents — raising sons with strength, humility, emotional awareness, and a sense of purpose in a rapidly changing world.
