The women reveal the realities of being a female leader in a traditionally male-dominated space, what new dynamic and perspective they bring to the labor movement and how the shifting internal dynamics in labor has them more committed than ever to building larger community coalitions based on shared community values. On the third episode of "Flip the Script", co-hosts Nicole Capretz and Ismahan Abdullahi sit down with the Executive Directors of ACLU (Norma Chavez Peterson) & Alliance San Diego (Andrea Guerrero) as they tell us their personal stories, how they found their voice as Latina immigrants and how they became leaders in the progressive movement. They also explore the current political climate and the respective work they are doing to flip the script in San Diego.

In a rare sit-down, Cole discusses her background, her priorities, the challenges of being a black woman in power, and how she will tackle some of the thornier issues around criminal justice and Civic San Diego.

Hosts Nicole Capretz and Ismahan Abdullahi discuss their personal stories about how they became community organizers and leaders in the progressive movement, and what they want to see for the future of San Diego. In the second half, the hosts talk to Councilwoman Georgette Gomez, who is emerging as a key voice in the new progressive majority. She also reveals why she thinks women choose not to run for office.
