When it comes to social media, Instagram is golden. 6 in 10 online adults have Instagram accounts right now and 8 million registered businesses are using Instagram business profiles. It's also one of the fastest growing social platforms around. But unless you're an A-list celebrity, growing your Instagram following will take more than opening up an account.  Using Instagram to share cool photos among friends is fine, but if you want to use it for business, you'll need more. The best way to figure out anything is to steal the answers from those who have already done so. Fortunately, I know someone who has...  On today's episode, we talk to Julie Maloney (yes, my gorgeous wife) who is a life and business coach in her own right. She learned from the experts and now her Instagram is greater than many of her mentors. Julie will be sharing how she grew her following of over 16K fans and achieve more than 200 likes, comments and shares on just about everything she puts out. To accompany this episode I've put together a cheat sheet with all the how-tos. There's even an e-book you can download. Just go to my show notes page at www.getrealaboutbusiness.com/13. BTW, if you've got a question about Instagram, go ahead and leave a comment on my show notes page. Either Julie or I will get right back to you.

Please join us as Melissa Studdard will speak with writer and writing teacher, Julie Maloney. Maloney’s first poetry collection, Private Landscape, was published in 2007, and in 2003 she founded WOMEN READING ALOUD, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting women writers through special events and workshops. Maloney is a trained workshop leader in the Amherst Writers and Artists Method, an organization whose philosophy is that “every person is a writer, and every writer deserves a safe environment in which to experiment, learn, and develop craft.” Maloney’s teachings focus on what she calls the 3-in-1 principle, which asserts the equal value of the writer, the reader, and the listener. Of Maloney’s first poetry collection, Poet Charlotte Mandel states, “Julie Maloney's poems in her collection - PRIVATE LANDSCAPE - move with the exquisite grace of her abilities as a dancer and choreographer. Dream narratives sing in delicate imagery. Pain of cancer is here, honestly revealed and transcended; love is here, in its greatest giving. There is not a trace of easy sentimentality. This is a collection to remember, at once personal and universal.”  Tiferet Journal has recently published a compilation of twelve of our best transcribed interviews.
