In this engaging episode of Thought Leadership Leverage, host Peter Winick interviews Renee Moorefield, a pioneering leader in human-centered leadership for over 25 years. Renee, the CEO and co-founder of Wisdom Works Group, has been instrumental in transforming how leaders build thriving organizations. Wisdom Works offers innovative resources and guidance to create workplaces and leadership practices that foster well-being and success. Renee discusses the development of her intellectual property (IP). Her extensive experience in global companies highlighted a critical need: leaders often overlook human factors while focusing on financial and technical performance. Observing this trend, she brought her insights to the University of Colorado's business school, aiming to scientifically explore the factors that contribute to thriving and stress resilience in leadership. This led to the creation of the "Framework of Thriving" under the "Be Well, Lead Well Pulse Assessment" platform. This framework redefines what it means to thrive, helping leaders understand the essential elements for success in complex environments. Wisdom Works is now scaling its impact by working with global organizations, especially in the food and consumer goods industries. They conduct one-on-one sessions, team workshops, and organization-wide assessments to identify areas of high and low thriving. This holistic approach introduces new metrics for measuring organizational success and fosters meaningful conversations about well-being. Additionally, Renee's team certifies individuals in various industries to implement their tools, creating a network of approximately 225 certified Guides. Peter and Renee discuss the differences between internal and external certified guides, highlighting the unique challenges and benefits of each approach. The COVID-19 pandemic underscored the value of their tools, increasing demand for internal coaches equipped to navigate stressful times. Ensuring the quality and consistency of their certified guides is paramount for Renee. The program sets clear expectations for knowledge, skills, and abilities, relying on an honor system for self-assessment and continuous feedback. With a 94% return on investment rate, the program's effectiveness is evident, consistently meeting participants' needs and enhancing their capabilities. Three Key Takeaways: • Human-Centered Leadership is Essential: Renee Moorefield emphasizes the importance of focusing on human factors in leadership, highlighting how financial and technical performance often overshadow the well-being of people and organizational culture. Leaders need to prioritize creating thriving, sustainable environments. • Scalable, Science-Based Frameworks: The "Framework of Thriving" and the "Be Well, Lead Well Pulse Assessment" offer a scientifically grounded approach to understanding and fostering leadership that promotes resilience and thriving. This framework helps organizations identify areas of high and low thriving, driving better performance and well-being. • Certified Guides Enhance Impact: Certifying individuals in various industries to use Wisdom Works' tools has expanded their reach and effectiveness. With approximately 225 certified guides, the program ensures consistent quality and effectiveness, as demonstrated by a 94% return on investment rate, meeting the evolving needs of leaders and organizations. Episode 10 of the Unplugged series. Full list of the topics covered on our website: jaef.foundation/problem-guide-jaef In this episode: If God is still the same yesterday today now and forever, then the same God that delivered the nation of Israel using two men in their 80's (Moses - 80 years old and Aaron - 83 years old) and a stick (rod) can still deliver His children today in a world filled with complexity. God has challenged my Faith and brought to my attention that I am not completely sold that He can deliver me out of some things I am going through using His simple answers of old! Sometimes when we read the bible, especially the old testament we compare the solutions God used in the past and doubt that He can still use them in today's complex world with all the technology, science and knowledge out there. However, God has revealed to me that actually, His ways of old can still be applied today and He's told me not to fall into satan's trap of complexity. Satan is using complexity as a smoke screen so that the children of God are swayed away from God's simple solutions to the complicated problems of this complex world. If you have been thinking of a way out of your current problems and what you are currently ready to deploy is a set of complex-anxious-stressful-intimidating solutions, please abort such missions. Don't fall for this trap! Chances are that that's not the wisdom from God because God tells us He will use weak and foolish things to confound the strong and wise and that His wisdom is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy - James 3:17. Last: If the set of solutions you are ready to deploy looks like you're the one opening the door for God, please abort this mission! God has reminded me; He is the one that opens doors no man can shut and closed doors that no man can open - Rev 3:7! God will not move through a door you have opened for Him, He will not. Because if He does, He will have to share Glory with you. I've been challenged and likewise challenge you to close all the doors you have previously opened for God. God's solutions and answers are so simple even a child can apply them. He doesn't overwhelm us with complicated solutions and instructions. In this series: We are going with the flow of the Spirit. Without any formality, we share what the Spirit deposits in our hearts or what is on our minds haha. Enjoy this unplugged series and we hope this episode blesses your heart! It's here! The 200th episode of the STaR Coach Show! I'm thrilled and honored to have covered such informative content with the amazing guests we have featured on the show. This milestone episode is a compilation of thoughts from seasoned coaches about what they wished they had known when they first began as a coach. The responses are varied and value-packed, and I hope you enjoy these coaching insights.  Show Highlights: These coaches were asked: “What do you know now that you wish you had known when you first started coaching?” Meg Mann, MCC, and co-owner of Clarity Professional Development shares two specific concepts: Go on the coaching journey with the client to help them get clear on what they truly want. Enjoy being a co-discoverer and co-explorer with the client as a travel companion with an open mind.  Dr. Renee Moorefield, MCC, and CEO of Wisdom Works shares the following: The upfront goal or problem of the client that's most obvious really isn't it. There is usually a deeper goal, aspiration, challenge, or need, and it's often something around meaning and purpose in life and work. Rick Tamlyn, MCC of The Bigger Game and Produce You, shares the following: Instead of performance anxiety in wondering if I, the coach, am doing a “good job,” I should be committed to my client's dream for their life.  Andrew Bennett, TEDx and keynote speaker and executive coach, shares about his self-awareness: Coaches need to put aside their ego and fear of rejection to be self-differentiating in their coaching conversations.  Alison Hendren, CEO, and founder of Coaching Out of the Box shares the following: Coaches aren't responsible for solving problems for their clients, but they should support the client in finding their way.  Jean Oplinger, MCC, Insights facilitator, Master Personal Brand Strategist, and Gallup Strengths Coach shares the following: A coach should follow their passions, values, and strengths, but should “go narrow and deep” into the specialty that mirrors that passion. Kathleen Stinnett, MCC, principal, and founder of FutureLaunch shares the following: Be bold and true to yourself in discerning what kind of clients you want to work with because you will invest essential and critical work with that person over time. Ilene Schaffer, Positive Psychology specialist and creator of Mindful Stepping echoes the importance of being true to yourself: Having a health action and a connection action for your clients (and yourself!) is extremely important. Help the client identify how they will pursue these actions from session to session.  Dr. Ann Deaton has more to add about being true to yourself and your values: A coach should listen to the advice of others, but be discerning and do a “gut check” to determine the approach that works best for them.  Mary Henderson, personal branding and social selling specialist, adds the following: Don't believe everything you see on social media! Notice the red flag when you try to follow what everyone else is doing, and step into the genius zone of YOUR skills. Terri Levine fromhttp://www.heartpreneur.com ( Heartpreneur.com) adds the following: A consulting skill set may be a better fit than coaching, because you can give strategy and advice that guarantee results for your client.  Teresa Pool, MCC from Transitions for Business, adds the following important insight: A coach starting out should invest in hiring a virtual assistant.
