National polling shows Kamala Harris in the lead but battleground-state polling shows pretty much a tie between her and Donald Trump in the places that will decide the election. How to explain this, and how to explain the controversy over Trump laying a wreath at Arlington Cemetery? Give a listen.

The 3-on-3 Big 3—Chris, Terrika, and Sharí—are back to do a deep dive into the Olympic Games. Team USA Men's and Women's basketball teams brought home gold, but our hosts had a spirited discussion on whether or not it was enough. Team USA has spoiled fans over the years by dominating other countries, but this year looked a little different. Serbia and France took the men down to the wire, and for the women, the gold medal game came down to the final shot. Sharí was not pleased with that. Sharí then teed up the crew to preview the 2028 Olympics set to take place in Los Angeles. Terrika made predictions on which members of the Team USA men's basketball team would return and shared her belief that Ja Morant has a place on the roster. Meanwhile, Sharí was more concerned about who would step up for the women's team with Diana Taurasi retiring and other players likely not returning. Chris reassured everyone that the young talent in the WNBA, like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, would replace the veteran talent, especially with their opportunity to develop over the next four years. Dearica Hamby dominated headlines directly after the Olympic break when she announced that she had filed a lawsuit against the WNBA and her former team, the Las Vegas Aces. In the signature Jump Ball segment, the crew defends why Dearica is well within her rights to claim discrimination, expressing hope that this will inspire change across leagues for more protections for athletes dealing with pregnancies so they don't lose their livelihoods. Happy birthday to the one and only, Terrika Foster-Brasby! ►3on3 Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/3on3pod/ ►3on3 X- https://twitter.com/the3on3Pod ►3on3 YouTube Chanel - https://www.youtube.com/@3on3Pocast ►Inflection Network YouTube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/@TheINflectionNetwork ► Inflection Network Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/inflectionent/?hl=en Chris Williamson ► Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/cwilliamsontv9/?hl=en ► X | https://twitter.com/CWilliamson44 Terrika Foster-Brasby ► Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/sheknowssports_/ ► X | https://twitter.com/sheknowssports Sharí Nycole ► Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/shari_nycole/ ► X | https://twitter.com/Shari_Nycole #3on3pod #AllIN #InflectionNetworkSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The 3-on-3 hosts are back just in time to celebrate the WNBA mid-season mark. Co-host Sharí Nycole kicks off the episode with an exclusive special announcement. Our resident WNBA roving reporter, Terrika Foster-Brasby, has the crew preview WNBA All-Star Weekend, where she will be live from Phoenix, AZ. The co-hosts debate if this is Diana Taurasi's final All-Star appearance and whether retirement is imminent after this season, as well as the impact of Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark being on the same team for the first time. Then it's time to give out some WNBA mid-season awards, with a consensus that A'ja Wilson is and will remain the real MVP. There is some discussion about who truly deserves the Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards, but Chris Williamson is sure that Dijonai Carrington deserves a few acknowledgments. Finally, in the Jump Ball segment, all three hosts come up with their second-half hot takes you don't want to miss. ►3on3 Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/3on3pod/ ►3on3 X- https://twitter.com/the3on3Pod ►3on3 YouTube Chanel - https://www.youtube.com/@3on3Pocast ►Inflection Network YouTube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/@TheINflectionNetwork ► Inflection Network Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/inflectionent/?hl=en Chris Williamson ► Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/cwilliamsontv9/?hl=en ► X | https://twitter.com/CWilliamson44 Terrika Foster-Brasby ► Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/sheknowssports_/ ► X | https://twitter.com/sheknowssports Sharí Nycole ► Instagram | https://www.instagram.com/shari_nycole/ ► X | https://twitter.com/Shari_Nycole #3on3pod #AllIN #InflectionNetworkSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We outline three key principles: Jump to the Ball: As soon as the ball is passed, defenders must jump in the direction of the pass to close off passing lanes and disrupt offensive movement. Force the Offensive Player Behind You: This involves positioning oneself to ensure the offensive player cannot cut in front, effectively using the body to maintain defensive dominance. Refuse to Get Front Cut: Defenders must prevent offensive players from cutting in front of them, maintaining a strong position to deny easy baskets. We then illustrate these principles through three progressive drills: Basic Denial Drill: This drill involves an offensive player at the top, a defender, and another player or coach on the wing. The goal is to prevent the offensive player from receiving a return pass by jumping to the ball and forcing the player to cut behind the defender. Progressive Denial Drill: Building on the first drill, this exercise has the offensive player circling out to the opposite wing after attempting the front cut. The defender must maintain their position and be ready to close out on the ball once it's skipped to the opposite side. Complex Denial Drill: This drill adds an additional offensive and defensive player, allowing practice of both individual and team defensive concepts. It involves denying the initial front cut, rotating to deny the pass back to the top, and then closing out on the skip pass. Throughout these drills, we emphasize the importance of vocal and physical pressure, using commands like "dead, dead, dead" to reinforce defensive intensity. These drills not only teach fundamental defensive techniques but also help in developing a cohesive team defense. By mastering these jump ball progression drills, coaches can significantly enhance their team's defensive capabilities, ensuring they are well-prepared to counteract common offensive plays.
