Another beautiful day in the Coulee Region. Sadly, I looked ahead to next weekend and it looks like those 80° days might be returning. We kicked things off with the Thursday Song and we also talked to Office Cora to see what she's up to this weekend in the 715. And it was another round of "Hypothetical Thursday"! Brian's question for Jean was: " Jean's question for Brian was: " And Cora's question for us was: " In the news this morning, there was no winner for the Powerball jackpot last night, an update on the Jonah Larson case, the West Salem couple accused of severe child abuse plead not guilty, Vladimir Putin is apparently trying to live forever by transplanting organs, a warning about taking the annuity payment if you do win the lottery, and the "Ketamine Queen" pleads guilty in the Matthew Perry overdose case. In sports, the Brewers beat the Phillies yesterday without Christian Yelich in the lineup, the NFL regular season begins tonight with the Cowboys & Eagles on NBC, some changes are being made to the NFL Redzone, and there's also going to be a format change in next year's NBA All-Star game. Elsewhere in sports, an update on Caitlin Clark, a very popular "illegal" sports streaming service gets shut down, some possible trouble for Kawhi Leonard & the LA Clippers, and the Idaho football team shows off their new alternate uniforms & helmets. A woman in England is selling her house & it's going viral because she has a ball pit for adults INSIDE the home. And a crime-fighting nun in Pittsburgh thwarted some would-be thieves recently. Have you heard of the very trendy "Great Lock-In" on TikTok? It's apparently very popular. We let you know what's on TV today/tonight and we looked at the new "Dancing with the Stars" cast. Plus, Brian recaps the new Netflix documentary, "Unknown Number: The High School Catfish". And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaMan who attacked a couple in the parking lot a grocery store with some bug spray, a WI cop who got chased by a wild turkey, a Denver man who was wearing nothing but a speedo & was covered in mud while running from the cops, a grandfather who took the wrong kid home from daycare, another #FloridaMan in a puppy costume who strangled a kid, and a 5-year-old boy who escaped his house in the morning to walk to Chick-Fil-A and enjoy a breakfast sandwich.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
