The company secured $12 million in financing from Nebari—including C$8 million initial tranche, $2 million follow-on, and $2 million used to buy down the Triple Flag NSR royalty from 2% to 1.5%—and commenced gold production.October 2025 production reached 475 ounces whilst operating at conservative staffing levels and building mill circuit inventory. Management projects cash flow positivity by Q2 2026 at approximately 700 ounces monthly production, with current monthly burn rate below $1 million. The Nebari credit facility includes a two-year interest-only period until July 2027, providing critical runway to demonstrate operational consistency and build cash reserves before principal repayments commence.The operational leverage inherent in Abcourt's asset base is substantial. The company has invested in infrastructure to address recruitment challenges, including a sleep camp commissioned in September 2024 with Phase Two expansion pending permit approval.The current mine plan supports seven years producing 25,000–33,000 ounces annually, with variation driven by grade. Management's strategic priority centres on extending mine life to 10+ years through three underground drill rigs at Sleeping Giant, then increasing mining fronts to utilise full mill capacity. This narrow-vein, high-grade mining approach—room-and-pillar methods targeting veins 30 centimetres to one metre wide—inherently limits tonnes but maximises grade, with underground samples showing visible gold exceeding 300 g/t.The Flordin discovery adds significant exploration upside. Systematic work exposed 300 metres of strike length grading 5 g/t gold over 15–20 metres width at surface, located 138 kilometres from existing mill infrastructure within a potential two-kilometre mineralised corridor. Abcourt has planned 20,000 metres of drilling for 2026—winter programmes targeting the eastern extension towards Agnico Eagle's adjacent property boundary, spring/summer/autumn programmes targeting northwestern extensions—entirely funded from operating cash flow.Management and directors hold approximately 30% ownership, having consistently supported development through equity investments. Shareholders have expressed preference for share buybacks over dividends once balance sheet permits, with capital allocation decisions driven by financial strength rather than arbitrary timelines.Sustained gold prices above US$4,000 per ounce have fundamentally improved narrow-vein deposit economics. Every US$100 increase translates to approximately US$2.5–3.3 million in additional annual revenue at current production guidance. It starts with a non-negotiable mental shift: the moment the ball leaves a shooter's hand, the defensive possession begins. Great transition defense is not about speed; it is about floor balance and effort. A coach must enforce the "First Three Steps" rule, which mandates that the first three steps after a turnover or made basket are an all-out sprint toward the defensive paint. There is no time to mourn a missed layup, celebrate a made shot, or complain to an official. If a player is jogging or "backpedaling" (which is slower than running), they are actively hurting the team. The most effective teams designate a "safety" (usually the point guard) who rarely crashes the offensive glass, ensuring there is always one defender back to prevent the cherry-picking layup. Structurally, transition defense requires a strict hierarchy of priorities that every player must memorize. Priority number one is to protect the basket. The first defender back must run straight to the rim—not to the ball handler—to act as a "goalie" and deter the long pass. Priority number two is to stop the ball. Once the rim is protected, the next defender must pick up the ball handler aggressively to slow the dribble and force a pass. Priority number three is to match up. Defenders must communicate loudly by pointing and calling out "I got ball!" or "I got basket!" to avoid two players guarding the ball while a shooter runs free. The goal is to build a "wall" around the paint first, then fan out to shooters as the remaining defenders arrive. To truly improve transition defense, you must simulate the chaos of a turnover in practice. Standard 5-on-5 scrimmages often fail to replicate the urgency of a live-ball turnover because the game stops too frequently. Instead, utilize "Continuous Advantage/Disadvantage" drills (like 3-on-2, 2-on-1) where the defense must sprint back, communicate, and "build the wall" while outnumbered. Another effective method is "Change of Possession" drills, where the coach blows a whistle during an offensive set, throws the ball to the defense, and forces the offense to immediately sprint back to the other end. By drilling these scramble situations, players learn to organize themselves in seconds, turning what looks like a fast break opportunity for the opponent into a settled, half-court possession. By dedicating specific minutes to each block, you guarantee that you are developing the complete player and team, balancing fundamental skills with team strategy every single day. The sequence of these blocks is crucial for maximizing learning and managing energy. Many coaches structure their plan to flow logically from simple to complex, or "part-to-whole." For instance, you might start with a 1-on-0 shooting drill (part), progress to a 2-on-2 drill using that same action (part), and finally integrate it into a 5-on-5 half-court offense (whole). It's also highly effective to have a "theme of the day" (like "communication" or "transition defense") that you emphasize in every single segment, from the first warm-up drill to the final competitive game, creating a clear, focused objective for the entire practice. Finally, a well-structured plan is a guide, not a rigid script. You must "coach the practice, not the plan," meaning you must have the flexibility to spend more time on a drill if your team is struggling, or cut a segment short if they've clearly mastered it. A good plan also alternates high-intensity conditioning or competitive drills with lower-intensity teaching or shooting periods to keep players physically and mentally fresh.
