Communication in padel isn't optional — it's tactical. In this episode, we break down one of the simplest but most misunderstood parts of partnership: talking when your partner gets lobbed. When the ball goes over them, they can't see what's happening in front of the court — and that's where you come in.We explore how giving clear, calm information (“they're both back,” “one's closing,” “space crosscourt”) can completely change the quality of the next shot. This isn't about shouting for the sake of it — it's about providing useful information that helps your partner make better decisions under pressure. If you want to become a better partner — and win more points as a team — this episode will change how you think about communication on court.EXPLORE OUR OFFERS:The Padel School Membership (with FREE Trial) Access 75+ Drills for Every Level: TPS Drill Book For Players Our BOOK - The Padel Player's Guide Win Matches with a Stronger Mindset: Get our Mental Toughness Course

Prince Silver Corp CEO Derek Iwanaka joined Angela Harmantas at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada or PDAC conference in Toronto to share news about the company's ongoing drilling programme at the Prince Project in Nevada and how rising precious metal prices are renewing interest in historic silver districts. Iwanaka highlighted Nevada's long history as the “Silver State,” noting that the Prince Project was a past-producing mine that operated between 1912 and 1949. The operation shut down due to low metal prices rather than a lack of remaining material, leaving potential resources behind that may now be economic at today's higher silver prices. Iwanaka explained that Prince Silver Corp has been drilling at the project for the past three months and has made encouraging discoveries. The drilling programme has identified two distinct mineralised horizons. The upper layer contains silver and manganese mineralisation, while a deeper zone has revealed higher-grade gold that had not previously been identified at the historic mine. According to Iwanaka, the company is optimistic about the potential scale of the project as drilling continues. As he noted in the interview, “we've been doing some drilling for the last three months, and we've actually made discovery a whole bunch of new mineralisation that I don't think was ever considered back then.” Prince Silver Corp is targeting a resource estimate potentially later this year. If drilling progresses smoothly, Iwanaka said the company could release a resource estimate as early as July, though additional drilling could push the timeline into the fourth quarter. The company is well funded to advance exploration, with approximately $8 million in the treasury following a recent financing, supporting continued drilling and potential additional phases. #proactiveinvestors #princesilvercrop #otcqb prncf #cse #prnc #pdac2026 #PrinceSilverCorp #SilverMining #NevadaMining #SilverStocks #GoldAndSilver #MiningExploration #PreciousMetals #JuniorMining #ResourceExploration #MiningInvesting

Purepoint Uranium Group CEO Chris Frostad joined Angela Harmantas at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada or PDAC conference in Toronto to share news about the company's exploration activity in northern Saskatchewan and how Purepoint is positioning itself to benefit from renewed momentum in the uranium market. Speaking from a busy industry convention, Frostad described growing excitement around uranium as prices strengthened earlier in the year. He explained that Purepoint Uranium Group Inc has spent many years building a strong exploration portfolio in the Athabasca Basin, giving the company a solid foundation as the sector enters what he believes could be an important period for the commodity. Frostad noted that the company currently has around nine or ten projects in northern Saskatchewan, many of which have attracted strategic partners. According to Frostad, the long-term approach has enabled Purepoint Uranium Group Inc to secure extensive land holdings and advance projects to drill-ready status. A key focus is the Dorado project, a joint venture with IsoEnergy covering nearly 100,000 hectares along the Mine Trend in the northern Athabasca Basin. Frostad highlighted that Purepoint Uranium Group Inc is the operator of the 50-50 partnership and recently began advancing the project following compilation of geological data from both companies. Early drilling results have already generated interest. Frostad said the team “managed to tap into some pretty high grade mineralization right out of the gate,” prompting further drilling programs planned through the winter and summer seasons. He also discussed the company's partnership model, including long-standing collaborations with Cameco and other industry players. The approach allows Purepoint Uranium Group Inc to advance multiple exploration programs while sharing costs and reducing shareholder dilution. #proactiveinvestors #purepointuraniumgroup #tsxv #ptu #otcqb #ptuuf # #pdac2026#Uranium #UraniumStocks #AthabascaBasin #UraniumExploration #PurepointUranium #ChrisFrostad #EnergyTransition #MiningStocks #UraniumMarket #ResourceInvesting

Appia Rare Earths and Uranium Corp CEO Tom Drivas joined Angela Harmantas at the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada or PDAC conference in Toronto to share news about the company's expanding rare earth and uranium portfolio across Canada and Brazil, highlighting an active drill season and strong early results from multiple projects. Drivas outlined Appia Rare Earths & Uranium Corp's diversified asset base, which includes rare earth projects in Saskatchewan and Brazil, alongside uranium exploration in Ontario and near the Athabasca Basin. He described the company as unique due to its combination of rare earth and uranium exposure across multiple jurisdictions, with mineralization hosted in rocks that can be extracted using known technologies. At the Alces Lake project in northern Saskatchewan, the company has completed extensive work including airborne and ground gravity surveys, drilling, and 3D modelling. Appia has identified nine new drill targets and plans to begin drilling in June, with the camp and drill already in place. In Brazil, the company is advancing what is now referred to as the PCH project under a partnership arrangement. The project hosts both ionic clay mineralization near surface and hard rock rare earth mineralization at depth. Drivas highlighted recent results, stating: “We just finished 26 new holes on the hard rock… this time we went down to 300 metres and it's mineralized from top to bottom.” He added that some intervals returned grades “up to 14% rare earths.” Appia plans to deliver a NI 43-101 compliant resource and is targeting approximately 950 drill holes on the ionic clay portion, alongside work toward a preliminary feasibility study. With nine rigs currently active and infrastructure located just 15 minutes from a mining town, the company expects steady news flow in the coming months. #proactiveinvetors #appiarareearthsanduranium #cse #api #otcqb #apaaf #pdac2026#RareEarths #Uranium #MiningStocks #CriticalMinerals #DrillingResults #SaskatchewanMining #BrazilMining #ResourceInvesting #NI43101 #CleanEnergyMetals #AthabascaBasin

Basketball Coach Unplugged ( A Basketball Coaching Podcast)
Ep 2855 How Can Constraint-Based Drills Build "Self-Correcting" Athletes?

Basketball Coach Unplugged ( A Basketball Coaching Podcast)

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 28, 2026 20:53

https://teachhoops.com/ Constraint-Based Learning is a coaching method that moves away from traditional "command-and-control" instruction and toward environmental manipulation. Instead of telling a player exactly where to move, you change the "rules" of the drill to force them to discover the solution themselves. By adding constraints—such as limiting dribbles, shrinking the court, or changing the point value of certain shots—you create a "representative" environment where the athlete must develop their own "feel" for the game. This approach is rooted in ecological dynamics; it recognizes that the best way to learn how to drive to the basket isn't by practicing against air, but by being forced to navigate a "cluttered" paint with specific limitations that demand a high-level read. One of the most powerful aspects of constraints is that they make your drills "self-correcting." If your team is struggling with "ball-watching" or stagnant offense, you don't need a 10-minute lecture. Instead, implement a "Two-Pass Minimum" or a "Must Touch the Post" rule before a shot can be taken. The environment becomes the teacher. If the players don't follow the constraint, the drill stops or the other team gets the ball. This "external focus" allows athletes to develop functional movement patterns that are more resilient under the pressure of a game. In the mid-season January grind, when players can become "numb" to a coach's voice, changing the constraints of your staple drills can instantly re-engage their brains and restart their growth. Finally, constraints allow you to target specific "leaks" in your team's execution without adding complex new plays. If your defense is giving up too many baseline drives, run a 4-on-4 scrimmage where any baseline drive results in an automatic 5 points for the offense. Suddenly, your defenders will become hyper-aware of their positioning and "closeout angles." Use your TeachHoops member calls to "audit" your drills: are you over-explaining, or are you letting the constraints do the work? By becoming an "architect of the environment" rather than a "micro-manager of movement," you develop high-IQ players who can solve problems in real-time when you aren't there to call a timeout. Synopsis:  Surviving and Thriving in Turbulent Times Third World Newsreel's Enduring Legacy This show is made possible by you! To become a sustaining member go to LauraFlanders.org/donate Description: It's almost unheard of for an independent media collective to survive as long as Third World Newsreel has. Since 1968, they have chronicled some of the most pivotal movements in human history and continue to expand on their collection of over 700 titles. There's lots to learn about how they've adapted through technological revolutions, political persecutions, philanthropic booms and busts — and how the oldest media arts collective in the U.S. is making do in today's “media carnage”, as Laura Flanders puts it. Joining us are JT Takagi, an independent filmmaker, sound recordist, and the longtime executive director of Third World Newsreel. Tami Gold is an artist and activist whose documentaries grapple with everything from imperialism to sex work. Her films include My Country Occupied, Another Brother and Land Rain Fire among many more. Puerto Rican-born Juan Carlos Dávila works in film as well as TV, where he reports on social movements around environmentalism, militarism and the struggles of the working class on the island. His films include The Stand-By Generation, Viequez: An Endless Battle and Drills of Liberation. Join us as we look at the past, present and future of Third World Newsreel and ask how film can be used as a tool for organizing. “I'd say we feel more urgent now than ever before. Every day there's something happening that makes it clear that our rights and liberties, and people's lives all over the world are at stake. Not being in touch with the history and media that shows the truth of what's going on is really decimating people's ability to, as Juan said, know what to follow and what to do.” - JT Takagi “We need to retake the theater, the physical space that is being ignored by the corporations. Perhaps now that is the opportunity that we have . . . A theater is being rented by people who are organizers, and they're using their collective spirit and know-how to organize huge, huge crowds to come.” - Tami Gold “People can shoot stuff with the phone . . . I see a lot in Puerto Rico that people are still wanting to produce with the corporate industry standards. Many young filmmakers like myself tend to think that we need so many personnel to be doing films. Right now we can actually make films with less.” - Juan Carlos Dávila Guests: •  Juan Carlos Dávila: Documentary Filmmaker, Multimedia Journalist, Puerto Rico Correspondent, Democracy Now! •  Tami Gold: Filmmaker, Artist, Activist •  JT Takagi: Executive Director, Third World Newsreel   Watch on YouTube this episode that includes video clips referenced in this episode from Third World Newsreel; PBS World Channel 11:30am ET Sundays and on over 300 public stations across the country (check your listings, or search here via zipcode). In this episode, we tackle a misconception that's slowing down padel's development in emerging countries: the belief that a great player automatically makes a great coach — or can build a successful academy. We explore why playing level and coaching ability are two very different skill sets, and why structure, long-term programming, and volume matter far more than individual talent. As the sport grows, especially in newer markets, relying on the “best current player” to lead development can create short-term success but long-term limitations. We break down what actually builds strong pathways, why emerging nations must think beyond their current top players, and how sustainable systems — not star names — create future champions. If you care about the growth of padel in your country, this conversation is essential listening.EXPLORE OUR OFFERS: The Padel School Membership (with FREE Trial) Access 75+ Drills for Every Level: TPS Drill Book For Players Our BOOK - The Padel Player's Guide Win Matches with a Stronger Mindset: Get our Mental Toughness Course  FREE Equipment Guide: https://improve.thepadelschool.com/equipment-guide FREE Padel Assessment for YOUR game: https://improve.thepadelschool.com/padel-assessment  Want to join us on court? https://thepadelschool.com/events Read our blogs: https://thepadelschool.com/blog/

The first instalment of the 2026 Wakelin Melbourne Property Report showed where we are: investor activity is back, interstate capital has moved first, and a February rate rise has put that renewed confidence on notice. Part two is about how to think from here. In this episode, Jarrod steps away from the month‑to‑month noise and works through six tensions that will shape Melbourne's housing investment market in 2026: Confidence vs memory of the last rate cycle – what it takes for buyers to believe a recovery is real Headline stability vs rule‑change risk – how much uncertainty around future settings investors are willing to live with to access value Renting longer vs buying earlier – how the rent‑versus‑buy equation is shifting at today's price and rate levels Houses vs older low‑rise apartments – where the value actually sits when land does the heavy lifting What the Metro Tunnel, West Gate Tunnel and activity centres quietly change over the next few years. Portals and print vs AI and socials – how discovery is changing who sees opportunities first. Rather than overwhelming your players with a long list of exercises, focusing on three "Master Drills" allows for deeper skill acquisition and higher intensity. These drills should be "Games-Based," meaning they have clear win/loss conditions and force players to make real-time reads. Synopsis: What's it take for an independent media collective to last for almost 60 years? This show is made possible by you! The drill will ramp up in April, as it will be placed under NATO command and include NATO forces. France Correspondent Catherine Field told Mike Hosking the reason it's such high intensity is because there's never been a confluence of threats at this level before, according to the French military. A visual reference to aide adjustments to blade depth. Timestamps 00:45 Low technology solutions for rowing too deep. The tape goes around the oar shaft so that when the oar is under the water at the correct depth and the handle is at the correct height for you to old. Mark exactly where the shaft is level with the water surface. You can do this where the oar shaft is wet if you do this carefully. Measure the spot, return the oars to land and transfer that measurement to all the other oars and put white tape on them too. While rowing you can look sideways at your oar to see if the white tape is going under the water and where in the stroke it goes too deep (and you can no longer see the tape). 03.30 Causes of rowing too deep Usually it's caused by the athlete holding the handle too high. Modern oar designs naturally sit at the correct depth. If you row 'over the barrel' the path of the handle is too high mid-stroke (and usually too low at the finish so your oar spoon washes out). The water is flat and so the path of the handle in the power phase should also be flat. At the catch if you take the catch by lifting your shoulders it can also cause the oar to go too deep. Tension in the hand grip also can cause the oar to go too deep. In sweep this is often the inside hand holding on too tightly. 05:55 Drills to help you correct blade depth - Backing down into the catch. Push the oars from the finish backing down and then leave the oar in the water and take the stroke. Go backwards and forwards gradually lengthening from half slide to full slide. This helps you to work out the correct handle height. - Row in circles. One person row in sweep and look out at your oar as you row so you can see the depth. In sculling just row with one oar and get a friend to hold the boat steady. - Half blade depth rowing. Row with only half the oar under the water - feel the depth by controlling the handle precisely with very small movements. - The amount of power you put on can affect blade depth. So try alternating light and firm pressure strokes to help you work out depth.
