This week, Kate's on the road for her book tour and her recording technology is lacking (and her episode posting is lagging) but she figured she'd tell you what she's up to! This episode is a hodgepodge of Kate & friends reporting live from various moments on the road, from backstage at House of Blues with Caroline Moss talking about Jett & Pookie to an after-show with her sister Kelly to a rainy poolside gab session with her sisters in law in Orange County. Deeply sorry again for sound quality; Kate is going to invest in travel tech going forward, but we didn't want to skip another week, so better something than nothing? Tbd. The Joyful Mourning - A Podcast for Women Who Have Experienced Pregnancy or Infant Loss
"We don’t want to be a burden but the reality is, we are carrying a big burden. And we need people. We have to be vulnerable and to say what we need." Kelly Griffin In this episode we are talking all about friendship amidst loss and grief. In this episode I have the privilege of interviewing best friends Kelly & Caroline. Kelly received a prenatal life-limiting diagnosis of Trisomy 18 for her son Reeves and during our time together she and Caroline share honestly and tenderly about their friendship and what role it played in Kelly’s loss and healing journey. Caroline gives incredibly helpful and tangible wisdom about how to love a friend who is walking through a life-limiting diagnosis. If you know and love someone who has received a life-limiting diagnosis or has experienced the loss of a baby Caroline’s wisdom will be so helpful to you. Kelly gives wisdom to the mom who may be feeling lonely, who might not be surrounded by friends who step in to help. This episode is so encouraging as it reminds us that it is the simplest things that matter so much. That loving someone who is hurting does not have to look like grand gestures but rather an imperfect showing up that is consistent and prayerful and thoughtful has the potential to really help and bring healing. This episode is tender and raw and I am forever grateful for these two women and the friendship they represent. I pray it encourages you to step into the messiness of friendship after loss as it reminds you that it is absolutely worth it. FREE GUIDE If you love a grieving mom, don’t forget to check out last week’s episode, Episode #94 about how to love a grieving friend, my simple list of 10 don’t do this instead do this. On that page you will also be able to access all of the existing resources we have about how to love a grieving mom -- if you love a grieving mom I think these resources will be very helpful to you. JOIN THE COMMUNITY And as always, if you are a grieving mom, I want to invite you to join our free online community, The Joyful Mourning Community -- it’s a place where you can find women who have experienced the loss of a baby and are navigating this grief journey. It’s a safe place where you can ask hard questions, lament, ask for prayer, a place where you can find women who understand what you are going through and can remind you you aren’t alone. This week, the Chatty Sisters are picking up right where they left off (6+ months ago...) sharing their wine & loves, favorite moments of 2019 and general life updates. Oh hey! Kelly & Caroline are back today chatting about the Enneagram personality types and catching up on things like sickness, honeymooning and pregnancy stupidness. It’s a whole lot of fun. The Sisters aren’t totally sure what to think of the Enneagram and fully admit that they resisted this test for a while! Despite this though, they have fun digging into their personalities a bit more and just being back to podcasting! Who thinks they should post more frequently? Leave some encouragement on Instagram @chattysisterspodcast!

In honor of Caroline's 29th birthday, the Chatty Sisters are talking about birthday parties they loved as kids, feelings around turning 30, and bucket lists. Kelly & Caroline get sucked down another hole of all the places they want to travel to... everywhere from Hawaii & Alaska to Italy & Denmark. Caroline only needs to freeze time before she has kids to make this happen and.. well.. Kelly needs to go back in time?? As always, you'll hear a bit about the Sister's lives and some random tangents. Thank you for listening!
This week, the Sisters just kinda... catch up! It's been a couple weeks since they've talked and the Chatty Sisters are as chatty as ever. In fact, they never really get passed their wine & love segment. Catch up with the Sisters as they talk about their favorite adventures over the last couple of weeks, how they're sad summer is already coming to an end (the August breakdown is in full force!), and more. For some unknown reason they spend a lot of time talking about weddings, bridesmaid dresses and sequins. Don't ask them why. If you're looking to pass the time during your drive to the Cape this weekend or to work today, then Kelly & Caroline are coming to your rescue!
Yup, you heard that right. Kelly & Caroline are finally bringing their men on the podcast! Due to scheduling restraints, the Sisters thought this would be the perfect time to introduce two of the most referenced people on the show: Dan & Eric. This week, Dan attempts to overcome his nerves and fill Kelly's big shoes (voice?) on the podcast. Caroline and Dan take turns asking each other questions, ending with a bunch of rapid fire questions. Tune in to hear Dan's take on how he met Caroline, what the opening scene to a movie of Dan's life would be (you will NEVER guess. Like actually.), what Caroline says she wants to see when she looks back on her life in 40-50 years, and a whole lot more!
Caroline and Kelly had a secret long distance relationship that neither one of them knew about! They stalked each other from afar and finally started to chat through their mutual love of stationery and running in the same biz circles including Society of Creative Founders and Black Sheep Bride among other biz groups. They are so excited to chat with you about all these product based business. And then the planets aligned. - Caroline Kelly’s Back Story Kelly was a third grade teacher who started making handmade cards and charity favor cards on Etsy in 2009 as a hobby for friends and family. She fell in love with wedding stationery and stamps and in 2014 opened another Etsy shop which took off so fast she was able to quit teaching that same year. Now 10K + sales later and she’s not stopping. Like ever. It felt like it was a good idea, but it turned out to be an awesome idea! - Kelly You can find Kelly online at: www.helloworldpaperco.com www.kellyparkersmith.com www.helloworldstamps.etsy.com www.helloworldpaperco.etsy.com Caroline’s Back Story I came home and I was just lost. - Caroline After a hip injury in college sidelined her ballet dreams, Caroline got a real job at a marketing company and learned InDesign. Soon she was creating ads for that same company and used her new skills to design her own wedding stationery. She then built her business as a custom wedding stationery designer, but has since overhauled her brand to reflect her true self, selling greeting cards and paper products in the retail and wholesale online space.
